My first massage ever and was done with a male therapist. I said I wanted my upper body massaged only, and then he asked "quads or hamstrings" after doing my shoulders and back. I felt like I had no choice but to say yes since I was in a vulnerable position. Felt a bit uncomfortable, especially because his hands got very close to my butt. My second time was with a female therapist and she made me feel so at ease and did an outstanding job. I will be going back but only to see a female masseuse. read more

I joined the member massage plan a few years ago and I love that it gives me the motivation to get much-needed regular massages. I also like that you can suspend your membership for a few months if you will be out of town or are recovering from surgery. The entry physical space is really nice, with a small lobby, comfortable chairs, a soothing cascade of water on one wall, and beautiful coffee table books to peruse. The reception staff are always friendly. I tried a few different therapists over the years and settled on Brian as he is completely in tune to what my body needs. I will occasionally see another therapist if I want a hot stone massage, but Brian is my main squeeze. (See what I did there? :D ) The massage rooms are very simple: a comfortable, heated table with fresh sheets and cushy blankets, massage oils, dim lighting, and relaxing music. Your booked time includes any needed consultation and time for you to disrobe and get on the table. In my opinion, 55 minutes is too short, so I always book 80. After your muscles and joints have been kneaded and stretched into submission, your therapist will be waiting outside the door with a cold bottle of water to help flush the released lactic acid and toxins from your system. Don't forget to tip! Tipping suggestions are posted in the lobby for the mathematically challenged. read more

DO NOT BUY A GIFT CARD HERE! TOTAL SCAM!!!!!! They demand a credit card to make an appointment even though they already have the money ($137) from the gift card purchased to cover the cost of service, which was cross-referenced and verified in their system with the Ops Manager. Despite that they would not allow the gift card recipient to make an appointment against the gift provided, since they couldn't provide a credit card number. TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY! No wonder Elements Massage locations are going out of business and have numerous 1 star ratings. If you plan to give a gift card to a young student, or someone without a credit card, be warned the recipient will be unable to schedule an appointment and redeem a service. Seems entirely unlawful since no where is this mentioned as a policy even in fine print. read more

Have you had a massage from Callan at Elements yet? If not, you are missing out! I am a hairstylist and weightlifter, my body is seriously knotted all up and super sore all the time. Callan has been massaging me regularly for about 4 years. She manages to gently work into my nastiest of knots without causing me pain, and releases my tension beautifully. She has an amazing touch. I feel like I get a deep tissue massage but she approaches each trouble area with grace an can work it all out for me. I seriously could not do my job without these massages. I can't believe how awesome this place is. Every time I've been there I've had a great experience from the moment I walked through the door. Heather at the front desk is probably one of my favorite people. SO helpful and friendly and she was patient enough to answer the metric ton of questions I had my very first visit. I've worked with a couple therapists there but Becky is my absolute favorite. Kitty is also amazing - what impresses me so much about the therapists here is that they understand as much about the body and how to take care of it/heal it as a physical therapist. I don't say this as a hit on massage therapists, because I've had awesome massages at a variety of places. What impresses me so much about Elements is the time they take at the end to talk about your trouble spots, recommend ways to heal up, and even show you stretches to help keep you loose. A few years ago I was in physical therapy for a knee injury while training for a marathon, and Becky and Kitty both sent me home with the same kind of advice my physical therapist did. It kind of blew me away. It's as nice as a spa (without the robes) but it has the professionalism of a sports therapy clinic. I walk in all tight and jacked up and leave with a human body again. Highly recommended - and if your insurance covers massage therapy, you can use your HSA or Flex spending card. read more

Two years in a row they have cancelled my mother's day/birthday massage the day before. (Not to mention I am 34 weeks pregnant, literally dieing for a massage.) This year however the lady on the phone was absolutely NO help. Barely could figure out to schedule a new appointment or make it up to me. She couldn't even return a phone call. I started at Elements for my first ever massage and the assistants at the front desk matched me with Callan. What a wonderful perfect match! My body is totally responsive to her touch. I zone out during the massage and walk out of there with knots gone and feeling completely relaxed. The massage rooms are comfortable and everyone is congenial. Dawn was my massage therapist the last time I was there and she was very good and super accommodating to all my requests. I've had 1 hour massage with Taressa on a Sunday. First of all, she was rushing the whole time. It seemed like she was trying to get it done as soon as possible. Second, she was yawning the whole time out loud. Overall, my massage was painful, even though I like hard pressure, but I told her to do less in some spots, she would do for couple minutes and then back to super hard. She totally missed several spots in my back and now I have uneven soreness in my back. Usually, after getting massage I fell really good, however after this massage I felt beat up and even worse. My massage lasted roughly 40 mins, which was really annoying. I would never EVER come back to this location again - it's totally waste of time and money. read more
