I visited Elements Massage yesterday for a 1hr massage with cupping with Leslie. I was initially greeted by Ashley, who was very friendly and quickly checked me in. Leslie was immediately ready to take me in, she was reviewing my submission form and made sure I completed my consent form for cupping. She is extremely professional with a calm voice & demeanor. She checked in a couple times to make sure her pressure was meeting expectations. She also did a fabulous job at feeling for knots and working in those areas. However, I am used to thai massages and am used to more areas being worked on compared to Elements Massage, where she worked primarily on my back, shoulders, and legs. Then I flipped over, and she focused more on the neck and shoulders. I was expecting a little work on my face but maybe thats an experience I get at other massage spas. It was also my first time cupping and I was honestly expecting to have those suction cup "bruises" after my massage, however, I didn't have those. I suspect they do a different type of cupping method as I don't see any signs of cupping.. Lastly, I actually didn't receive a full hour for my massage. It was cut short three minutes early which may not matter to others but every minute of relaxation counts in my book. Overall Leslie was good and professional However, I'd likely try a different place when it comes to cupping. read more

I have been seeing a new person I think her name is Rez. I was trying to book with her last time but I couldn't find openings. I like her because I don't like deep tissue and she is more of a level 2- deep tissue people probably would not like her type of massage but for me I like something that will relax me. My system is always fast paced and I hold a lot of trauma in my body so it's nice to have someone with a gentle touch! When I came in yesterday I saw one of my old managers there from massage envy which was a surprise but nice to see caught up a bit. I like this location better to another location I was a member at and ended up working at. It's been hit or miss with some therapist to match. I liked Jon before because he did stretching but I don't like deep tissue so had to find someone else but deep tissue people he's great. read more

My go-to massage place. I only gave it a 4/5 because I can't vouch for every massage therapist. There was one person who claimed to have a firmer touch, but they literally did nothing for me. But you will 100% find the right massage person for you! The place is clean and the front desk staff are super nice! Join their email newsletter to keep an eye on their deals. I usually take advantage of their bogo gift card deals (which you can use for yourself) If you're new to massages, here are some things to note: 1) Make an appointment. You need to consider if you would be comfortable with a male or female therapist. Once you go for 90 minutes, you'll never go back to the 60 minutes 2) On the day of your appointment. Come in 15 minutes early for any intake forms they might have you fill out. Let your massage therapist know what your body needs so they can target those areas. Long story short; I signed up for the monthly plan and after a few months of payments my bank changed and id forgotten to update my card so when I tried to cancel they made it to where you have to do everything via email and like sign paperwork... you can't just cancel. So by the time I got the paperwork in to cancel they were concerned because of the missed payment(s) (due to changing banks) and so even though i'd canceled, they decided to withhold my last paid for massage to account for the missed payment... i didn't like that or agree but had to in order to get my cancelation. read more

Minus a star for location/ lack of parking* This was my first time at this location and elements in general (chain with many locations) and I'd like to highly recommend you book a deep massage with Johnathan. Not only did he give a 10/10 massage he was very respectful and made me feel comfortable as I typically only see a masseuse. He even gave me a card at the end that states what he recommends for next time I come and what we did this time. I've been coming here regularly for both regular massages and, more recently, prenatal massages. This is the first massage place that I've genuinely wanted to come back to. For targeted, deep tissue work, this location has some great massage therapists. My go-to for regular massages is Andre. Great a targeting knots and finding ways to break down the more troublesome ones. I'd go to him if you have a good idea of your problem areas and only want him to focus on those locations. For prenatal, I love Juana. Even though I'm on my side, she still finds a way to dig into my shoulders and break down my knots. She's also good at working on my lower back and relieving all the tension built up from the added weight of my belly. read more

I went for my first prenatal massage here with Naz. They were able to take me last minute which I appreciated. Staff was welcoming. It's more just a massage not a spa like some other spots. So depending on what you are looking for keep that in mind. Very basic. I asked for medium pressure but was given light back rubs. Nothing to cover my eyes. I wanted to like this place so bad but I can't. My fav nail salon is just across the way so I had this grand idea to once a month do a 90 min massage followed by a pedicure. I tried just that in March and was so disappointed. Let's start with the good...I was excited to get an appointment 24 hours before and looking back maybe that was a sign? When I arrived the place was super clean and welcoming. Intake form was short and to the point. I was checked into my room and that's were things go down hill. The music was blasting. The room was freezing. The massage therapist had rough hands. I requested a deep tissue massage and the pressure was barely enough to rub the lotion into my skin. I would consider going back and trying a different therapist but can't over look the cold room and crazy loud music playing over head all of the rooms. 1 star for cleanliness. 2 stars for fair pricing although I guess you get what you pay for. read more

Sunny is amazing. She has made my difficult perimenopause and inflammation so much more bearable. In addition to regular massage techniques, she is certified in lymphatic drainage and trauma-informed massage therapy, both of which have given me tremendous relief. I also get frequent chronic sinus infections and ear infections and her techniques have helped me with that as well. I was having some muscle tension and pain in my neck and shoulders, which is a problem area for me. My regular masseuse is in Benicia and I wanted to get a massage ASAP to help relieve the pain so I could continue with work tomorrow. They had a 5pm appointment and called me to do a phone consultation to ensure he was the right masseuse to address my needs. Check in was easy. FYI a credit card is required on file to book an appointment, and you have to complete a health form so print it out online or arrive 10 minutes early. My masseuse was very professional and was able to apply exactly the amount of pressure I required -- a lot! He checked in to make sure I was comfortable with the pressure, heat of towels, light, and room temperature. He also made sure to address any concerns about the products they use since I have a sensitive skin condition (eczema). After the massage, he also showed me some techniques I could practice at home to relieve tension between massage appointments. Highly recommend. I subtracted one star ONLY because I think it's a bit expensive .. $79 for 60 minutes is their introductory rate but normal would be $109 + tip. The medical masseuse I nornally see charges me only $65, and can lower it down to around $50 if I prepay in advance. read more

DeLon provided a great massage. She had the perfect pressure for tight muscles and I really loved the movement and stretches she does. Not only addressing soar muscles but making sure joints are moving. She also used movement to get to the right angle on different muscles. Finally, once complete, she provided excellent recommendations instead of some generic I've seen in the past (drink water, stretch before and after exercise, etc (we all know that)). I got two gift cards to try elements. I liked my masseuse and the front desk person Karla but this review is about the "manager" who booked my massage for me over the phone. My masseuse called in sick with COVID on Thursday but I was NOT notified - no phone call, email, or voicemail. In fact, the last message I got was that they texted and emailed me Thursday confirming my appointment. On Saturday, I arranged childcare and started the 30 min drive there. I called ahead because I was running 5 min late. Then I LEARNED I was on the "waitlist." The person who notified everyone about my masseuse's sickness skipped contacting me so she offered to reschedule me at 2 and give me a $10 credit. When I arrived I let the "manager" know about the major inconveniences: 1) Had I not called about being late, they might have gotten fully booked and I would have driven an hour for nothing. And 2) I had to arrange and re-arrange childcare. She gave me a $25 discount off my cupping, which was mostly fine but it was done in a way that didn't accept accountability. First off, she was like, that was me you talked to over the phone, I booked your appointment. Ok, you were nice then but you're acting funny now. And she acted like I should have been glad I got a discount. Instead of showing a willingness to accept responsibility, she reiterated that her staff called everyone including me on Thursday and that no one else had issues. I pulled up my phone and voicemail log to PROVE no one called. I even said it felt like she was implying it was somehow on me. She repeated herself again two more times that her staff called everyone. I asked how did she know? I wish I asked to speak with the owner based off her attitude. She didn't answer that question and acted kinda racist (and classist) if I'm being completely honest. In moments like this I wonder why certain people work in places that don't match the energy. Had my first massage with Brandon today. I went in for a specialty massage after searching all over for a proper lymphatic drainage massage. I got the 90 min which I would suggest and he did a phenomenal job catering to all my special needs. Not really many people to do a proper lymph drainage if you have Lymphedema . He knew what he was doing and that was such a relief as I've gone to others that because they offered them. He was very knowledgeable, gentle, the massage, although super lite, made me fall half asleep. So the great thing was he did that the first 30 min, then I got another 60 for the rest of the regular massage. I booked an appointment with Andre in Walnut Creek for a two hour session yesterday, and had no shoulder pain at all last night. If you like deep...I would highly recommend Andre...he is a 10! I was provided misleading information about the masks worn by massage therapists. The receptionist told me at the time I made the initial appointment that massage therapists would wear N95s or other quality masks. But when I arrived for my appointment, the massage therapist was wearing a scary looking mask used for high dust environments. It had air vents that made it virtually useless for containing Covid-19 droplets. (CDC advises against these construction type masks for COVID.). He said he would not wear a mask that would rest against his face, which was a dealbreaker for me. The receptionist was understanding and offered me an upgrade if I rescheduled, but I am not inclined to return. read more

I signed up for the membership and scheduled 4 appointments in advance with 4 different massage therapists. 2 of the 4 massage therapist were great. My last session, I didn't even receive a massage, I was stretched out for most of the session and about a few hours after getting home my back was in extreme pain. I will probably never have another massage therapist stretch me out again. I basically paid someone to injure my back and I'll never go return just based on this experience. I was met with incredibly lewd and disrespectful behavior. This location is staffed with childish staff members who are on the verge of being racists against people of Asian descent. Long story short, I received a very substandard and half-assed massage. As an Elements member, I expected a re-do. After all, that is the "Elements promise" or the company policy (look it up!). Not happy at all with this place. Because I had a great experience the first time I went there I decided to go with them when organizing gifts for my daughter's coaches. I called and they told me about a special for gift cards and said I could purchase it online. Well, when I went to purchase 3 gift cards, I entered 3 in the box where it asks the quantity of gift cards. Even though I entered a quantity for 3 it wouldn't let me enter in the names for each recipient. So I exited the screen and started over and changed the quantity to 1 and entered in one recipient's information then went to pay. It's then that I noticed that there was a service fee for the online order. Hmmm, not something that was mentioned in the phone call. So I exited the screen once again because I'm not paying 3 separate service fees! So I entered all 3 names of the recipients and thought that when I received the "gift cards" it would be 3 separate "gift cards" and that was a big joke on me! What I received was an ugly, unprofessional looking email with "order codes." There was no "GIFT CARD" now how am I supposed to gift these to 3 separate people when all 3 codes on on the same email. What an ugly looking "gift card" and how confusing for the recipients! I called the actual location and was told that the website wasn't really that user friendly for multiple quantities of gift cards. Again...gift cards is a joke in this case. She told me my only option was to come in and physically get the gift cards. Well guess what...I just had surgery and opted to purchase online because it's hard for me to get around at this point. Also, I'm not supposed to spend more money on gas to go there after I paid the "service fee" so I told the girl that was so unacceptable. She places me on hold and calls the owner. Then she comes back on the phone and tells me that I've been refunded and the money should be back in my account in 5-7 days!!!! Whaaaaat?!!!!!!!! How am I supposed to purchase the coaches gifts now that this money isn't even available for 5-7 days?!!!!!!! This is totally ridiculous!!!! These kids each paid into this gift and their banquet tomorrow. I requested a call from the owner and have not had a call yet. I waited for the confirmation of the refund but have yet to receive that as well. So unprofessional! They didn't even tell me that there was going to be a delay in refund before just taking it upon themselves to do that. And how am I to just take this employee's word for it with no confirmation before purchasing these gift cards elsewhere. It wouldn't surprise me that they drop the ball on that. That's how much faith I don't have in them. I called again to inquire about the refund confirmation receipt/email and all of a sudden they don't answer the phone. Called one more time before closing time at 9 pm and again, no answer which is funny since they have always answered previously. I sent an email to the parents of the entire team (45 kids) and let them know what happened. These Walnut Creek & Concord parents are NOT happy about this and I an bet you none of them will be using the services here after this ridiculous situation. I had the absolute worst massage of my life here. When I scheduled the appointment, I explained that I was having tension headaches from a stiff neck and sore shoulders. I also mentioned I had sciatica, and was looking for some relief from that as well. I requested someone who was skilled with both issues. I have had 100's of deep tissue massages over the years, by a dozen or so massage therapists. I know what I was expecting, and it was not at all what I received. Barely any attention was given to my sciatica. I'm not sure if this place has a ridiculous draping policy, or the therapist was uncomfortable with my body type. But the sheet was not moved in the manner required to properly massage the affected area. Despite drinking lots of water, using a heating pad, and taking a long bath, the next day my neck and shoulders felt worse. Needless to say I won't be getting the membership, or returning. read more

Recently cancelled my membership. Bad customer service, terrible membership policy, horrible scheduling, hit or miss with the therapists. After reading these comments, it's confirmation this place is a hit or miss. I've been going here for a few months trying to be lenient about their scheduling issues. Missed 1 appointment that wasn't confirmed by both parties(unethical) I was charged monthly, but the hour didn't roll over into the next month instead, I was told that their employees still need to get paid ?? I don't mind paying a cancellation fee, but this is terrible and unprofessional. Fix your practices so you don't have to worry about paying your employees. My wife and I recently joined Elements. Both of us have had 2 massages spanning the last 2 months. We enjoyed the massage. We had asked our therapist if she was vaccinated and she replied yes. However, just prior to my wife's 2nd massage, she was called and the session had to be cancelled because her therapist had become ill. When my massage time came a couple of weeks later, I was called to confirm my massage and was told our therapist had returned from her illness. I had to ask if her illness was Covid related and was told yes. I then decided to change to a different therapist for my massage today. When I arrived, I asked if all of their therapists are required to be vaccinated and was told they could NOT share that information with me. I was shocked. The receptionist went to speak with the manager and came back and said my therapist was NOT vaccinated. I cancelled my massage and membership on the spot. I find it egregious that a massage company would not require their therapists to be vaccinated considering the close contact they have with EVERY customer for 60 to 90 minutes. I had booked a massage out of desperation to get out of pain from chronic migraines and finally had a day off from working out of town long term. It was within 15 minutes of me arriving when I got a phone call that my therapist cancelled and they have no other available appointments today. They offered to reschedule but I cannot at this time due to working out of town. When asking about reimbursement for a late cancellation, all they said was they can reschedule. I brought up the fact about a late cancellation policy where if I were to be the one who cancelled within 15 minutes, I would be charged my full amount for my appointment. But they can cancel for free???? She then offered an add-on to my next appointment for aromatherapy... which is like $10. That is not at all equal.
