I called, while standing in an inch of water in my basement and a plumber who had to cut open a hole in my wall , to cancel due to an emergency (obviously didn't plan to have a water pipe burst on my day off) but because of the stupid way they pay their therapists I was charged my visit. Maybe they should pay their therapists an hourly wage instead of by appointment. Because basically they said if they don't have a client then they don't get paid. How is that a fair wage?! How is their wage dependent on a client? 2. Karen has the worst attitude when speaking to customers. I booked a massage and took a vacation day to enjoy it. I had a confirmation email from the place and brought it with me. They double booked the massage. The manager uttered "oh wow..." and "I don't know..." but didn't solve my problem. I demanded a refund. Since this was a gift card, it did not return to me. I explained that as well, but it seemed to be above her pay grade. I called back - very irritated - and asked to speak to the owner. The manager threatened to call the police on me for harassment. I'm out of a gift, out of vacation time and now am being threatened. what a way to run a business. Edited to add: The owner, Anita, trashed me on Google and made up a number of slanderous lies, including that I refused to give them my credit card. That's not true: I was never contacted about a credit card. She has a habit of denying all bad service on reviews (see below). Do yourself a favor: Stay away from this business and it's owner! Per typical behavior, the owner continues her toxic behavior towards customers. This reflects more on her customer service skills than anything else. Book a massage elsewhere. read more

I presented a spa finder card to pay for my massage and the manager Karen incorrectly pulled the tape of the back making it invalid. I used another card to pay for service but her only remedy was to give me credit instead of refund after she ruined my card. Worst Elements Massage experience. Go to a different location if you want a decent massage - or not Elements whatsoever. I was only 5 minutes late for my appointment and they refused to provide me with the full massage time. I paid for a 60 minute massage but was only provided service for 45 minutes, and I only found out about this after I was off the table and saw that the masseuse hadn't worked on me for the entire hour (in fact, he stoped 5-minutes to the hour, so even if I had been 15 minutes early, and they started on me at the top of the hour, that would still have been less than 60 minutes - ridiculous when you think about the money you spend to treat yourself for just an hour of self-care.) At the other locations I've been to, even if you are 5 minutes late, they will still treat you for your full service time, that is not the case here. Management told me the reasoning was that they needed to sanitize the room for the next appointment, but there were several open rooms that they could have put the next customer in, so from my point of view this was just an excuse. And, at the end of the day, isn't customer service most important? She made excuses for the masseuse, validating the reason for stopping early, but offered no form of condolence that I was cut short of the experience I paid him to complete. To top it all off, the masseuse had sharp nails that scraped my back and the salt stones he used were incredibly coarse, meaning they were worn down. Based on my experience today, I will not be back and I don't suggest that anyone spend their money at this Elements Massage. Between the environment and the customer service, it is a lose-lose. read more

Quality of massage is hit-or-miss. As others have mentioned, business practices are poor. I made an appointment last week for a 1 hour appointment this upcoming week before the Christmas holiday. I was just notified today that I had booked a 1 hour appointment in a 90 minute time slot (due to an issue with their system?) and would have to reschedule. Of course the technician I wanted to book with did not have any other appointments that fit my schedule before Christmas. I had noted when I made the appointment online that I would be using a session of a promotional package I had purchased. I believe they are trying to free up my appointment to fill with someone who will be paying full price. As many other reviews have stated. This business is a joke. This is a scam to bleed as much money from the clients as possible. Trying to schedule or cancel is a nightmare as the front desk associates have what seems like a monthly turnover and do not know how to use their scheduling system. The terms of service are deceitful, and they are nothing more than crooks here. Stay far far away. The business hours are not accurate. They close at random hours on Saturdays or early on various days with no notice or signage. They change 90 minute massages to 60 minute sessions with no notice and no price adjustment. Horrible customer service. After an employee mistakenly allowed me to use funds from a 90minute massage gift card for an hour massage, I am now told that I can't use the $20 left over on any advertised deal. I can only use it towards a full price service. This happened because of their employees mistake, but Elements will not correct THEIR mistake. So, since I don't want to pay full price, I am out $20, as they will not refund the balance on the gift card. Very bad business. If I could give them less than one star, I would. **Response to manager: Both you and your employee told me that a mistake was made in allowing me to use a partial gift card. Pointing out that my gift card was 2 years old in no way negates your business's fault in not following your own rules. If I can truly use the monetary value remaining on my gift card, then I should be able to use it to add to a purchase of an advertised discounted massage. Very bad customer service. read more

The front desk staff has always been friendly and accommodating when I am scheduling appointments. I have been a member of Elements for a year now. They have been very welcoming and helpful. They will try and get you in when you need it. You can request a massage online for the next day. I've had several massage therapists. I won't go into to detail because a few of the men have left already. I will say that Heather is really experienced, educated and I learn something new every time I see her. She is an expert in Fibromyalgia, trigger point and her Himalayan hot stone massage is phenomenal. I've never had a bad massage or disappointed with any of the services. I can not stress enough the incredibly terrible service my husband and I have received at this location. We were monthly members at a different location (unfortunately the location closed) and we were treated so well. When we transferred, we expected the same level of service and we were met with frustration after every single massage visit. From not setting up our accounts properly, to changing the tipping system, to hassles with cancellations; instead of being accommodating the manager is extremely condescending and ignorant. When the studio sent a memo that prices were going to be raised, that was enough for us, between the price increase and the manager- we were ready to find a different massage studio. Usually, you expect to leave a massage feeling relaxed and energized...we left feeling angry and frustrated. They treat Groupon users as an annoyance. I visited several times only because I bought a 3 pack. While management states I bought a second Groupon they agreed to allow credit towards standard $99 massage. HOWEVER, they gave me 1 month to use all 3 massages. Why not 1 day to use all 3? An individual who claimed to the the Regional Manager (of this one location) hung up on my husband when he questioned why he was being told he had two days to use the remainder of his sessions in two days time, when contractually he has until 11/4/2021 to use them. I have been to Elements in Woodridge twice. First time I had a 60 min with Cyndi the second a 90 minute with Jen. Both therapists were professional, attentive, and listened to my needs. They checked in on how I was doing while also making sure to provide quiet time. I also really like that they have never pressured me to try the membership. In fact I had to ask about it myself! Chris was amazing! It was my first time getting a massage and the staff made it so easy. I always felt comfortable and at ease. Chris helped me target my injured area which was my lower back. I had thrown out my back Sunday and was in a lot of pain and discomfort. I got a 90 minute massage with the CBD oil and Himalayan salt hot rocks and let me tell you, SO WORTH IT! I'm definitely coming back. I felt like I walked out of there with my pain already decreasing. Still got a little way to go on healing but I felt like this massage was a step in the right direction! read more

I haven't even been to this place yet and they've totally turned me off. I've been trying for four days to make the appointments for the 3 massage deal through Groupon. Apparently you can buy the Groupons but you can't actually use them. They don't take them on holidays and have a quota for how many Groupon appointments they'll take in one day. Even though the massages are paid for, you still need to provide a credit card number in case you cancel for their cancellation fee. I even tried leaving my credit card number on their voicemail when no one answered during business hours and they called back to say that their quota for Groupon appointments was met for the day and they couldn't book my appointment. It's been four days so now I can't cancel my Groupon and I'm stuck with appointments that don't really work for my schedule for a place that isn't really interested in my business. I'll write a review after I have my massages, but so far, this place has made me jump through hoops and have not delivered on customer service. read more

I've had a couple of other therapists when I couldn't book Lonnie and they were just as good. It is worth the membership because I am always relaxed when I'm done. What a horrible experience! I thought that they were under a new management but they still have the old unprofessional staff who did not get enough training on customer service. When I called last minute to see if there is any appointments available on the evening of 11/23 , I was told that they have a 90 minute slot open at 7:30pm, needless to say I was ecstatic and thankful. Unfortunately I was 8 minutes late and I received A call from the staff when I was already in the parking lot , but I didn't answer the phone as I was already there, just parking. When I walked inside the establishment, I was just told that I was late and needed to either shorten my massage time or reschedule tomorrow morning. I told them that it's ok to shorten my massage time as I really truly need it. Unbeknownst to me, the massage therapist already left and I was informed that I needed to be rescheduled. The receptionist said we called you but you didn't answer the phone so we had to cancel your appointment because you were late! Sorry Elements massage you just lost a potential paying customer because your staff from the front office and your therapist don't truly care. The receptionist had the nerve the call me after the whole incident!!! And by the way "the new management" that your staff is talking about is such a lie because you don't value your customers at all. read more

Being a fan of massages for relaxation, I was in desperate need of a massage during a very stressful time in my life. I gave Elements massage a try, as it is close to my home and I heard great things. Walking in, I only had intentions on receiving my massage, paying and leaving. After seeing Michelle however for the ABSOLUTE BEST DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE I HAVE EVVVVVVER RECEIVED, I inquired about more information. The front desk staff was so nice and helpful. I am greeted my name every time I walk in there and they never tried/try to "push sales" down my throat as you experience at other places. It is total relaxation from the moment you walk in, until the moment you leave!!! Like other places, you can become a member and pay a monthly cost which equals out to 1 (1 hour) massage a month. If you choose to receive additional massages, they deduct money from each additional massage (ask them, they will explain it better), and you can stop or put a hold on your membership at any time! I terminated my membership at the Woodridge Elements in Feb. 2020 before Covid and had 2 banked massage sessions paid for. I called in July to use them and was told I had 30 days to use them. The place was closed due to covid plus I was not comfortable going there until the end of July because of covid. They refused to honor what I paid for and I am very disappointed to not get my 2 massages or some kind of refund. Didn't seem fair. I loved Michelle the massage therapist. read more

I got my first massage here at the beginning of the year. My first massage was beyond awful with the first therapist they had set me up with. They did contact me within a day to ask what had happened and I did agree to come back with a different therapist and I will say Cyndi is amazing. The first therapist i saw is no longer working there. I go now once a month to enjoy my massages with Cyndi and the price is not bad either. I joined their wellness program. The front staff is always kind and nice. Either when i enter or when they are calling me for my appointment reminder. read more

It appears to me Elements only wants Grouponers when they NEED them based on the experience of these other Yelpers. I won't be going to this place; they've totally turned me off too! I bought 3 60 min massages w Groupon. They don't have availability, but with this groupon you have to use it within 3 months-- I mean if you buy the thing and call to start your monthly massage but they can't get you in or play their games, the clock keeps ticking. Kristy, the secretary/ appointment girl is unwilling to work with customers. Doesn't even try to ask owner. Even though the massages are paid for, you still need to provide a credit card number in case you cancel for their cancellation fee. This makes no sense to me, or our other Grouponers it seems. If I've paid $129 for 3 massages, and haven't used any massages, ummmmmmm, let's see.... yep, I'm pretty sure that means Elements has the $129 credit already!! And they're still ahead until I use my last massage! A little mathematically challenged??? So it seems...Yikes. There are better options out there; even on Groupon! You're trying to book a massage for cripes sake...who needs more stress and aggravation?! And GROUPON WILL REFUND YOU "Groupon Bucks" IF YOU CALL TO REPORT THE NEGATIVE SERVICE. read more

A nice place, your usual massage place with good facilities. The receptionist was nice and helpful, able to accommodate a same day appointment request. My massage therapist Paula was awesome! I opted for full body but once she got started we both agreed focusing on just my back and upper body would be best since it had been so long. She used great pressure and was able to adjust accordingly. I can't wait to go back. Pricing is on par with the typical membership/massage places, same for environment.
