I was going through my older reviews and realized that I had to make a much needed update to my Elements of Wellness review. More specifically, it turns out that not only is Dr. Angela Caraza my favorite chiropractor I've been to, but also one of my favorite acupuncturists. I've been seeing Dr. Caraza for over a year now. I initially went to her because I had neck and back pain and was looking for a good chiropractor, and I liked that in addition to just adjusting me, she offered additional modalities like electric stimulation, red light therapy, and even using a massage gun. It turns out she does acupuncture and offers similar additional modalities for that as well. I have been a firm believer in acupuncture for pain management for almost a decade now, it can at least relieve my chronic pain for at least a day. When doing acupuncture, Dr. Caraza is the type to work on one side of the body at a time, either face up or face down for at least 45 minutes. While you can get only acupuncture, and she will poke at the spots based on your current complaints of the day as well as based on any recent imaging, x-rays, or MRIs of that day. I personally like to get the extra 15 minutes of additional modalities. More specifically, she offers cupping and electro-acupuncture in addition to regular acupuncture. As someone with a lot of muscle, nerve, and fascia tightness and pain all throughout my body--mostly in my neck, back, and most recently shoulders--I like that Dr. Caraza, no matter which side I go to for that day for acupuncture, will generally cover as much of my pain as possible through a mix of using slide cupping and adding around 10 to 15 cups around my whole back, which helps to relieve a lot of tightness before putting the acupuncture as well as the stimulation on the acupuncture to further relieve muscle tension. But more importantly than the combination of both great chiropractor and acupuncture work, Dr. Caraza is just one of the few therapists I've been to who is very nice, helpful, and willing to listen and willing to change treatment based on the day and how you are feeling. She has basically heard the sadly annoying journey I've been going through, both in terms of increasing pain in my neck, back, and shoulders, but also some of the issues I've had with getting imaging and insurance in general, which I'll talk more about later. But the bottom line is she is one of the few therapists I've been to who will listen to my whole story almost every time I go into the office, and she'll still treat me to the best of her ability. And in general, she is very pleasant and fun to talk to. I also have to give praise to her front desk admin, Victoria, who was easily one of the nicest front desk workers I've interacted with. I get greeted every time I come to the office or if I have to make changes to my scheduling and even making payments. She is also just as friendly as Dr. Caraza and makes sure things go smoothly, both in terms of making sure I have appointments scheduled out as much as possible and letting Dr. Caraza know of anything she needs to know before I come into the office on a certain day. I think it says something when the closest I have to complaints about this place are insurance and scheduling related, both of which have nothing to do with the treatment or the personalities of the workers. Through Elements of Wellness, it turns out with my insurance Cigna PPO that if I decide to get cupping with my acupuncture or electric stimulation with my chiropractor, my insurance for some reason counts that toward my covered physical therapy appointments per year. Dr. Caraza and I only found this out in late 2024, when I was basically out of PT that year. Thankfully Dr. Caraza was able to be transparent and charge me a fair rate of around $30 if I want to add on cupping or electric stimulation since, thankfully, my insurance has unlimited covered acupuncture appointments once I meet the deductible for the year. If this were any other acupuncture place, there would have been a chance that the front office would have done some sneaky way to overcharge me without me noticing. But thankfully, I get to choose if I want to pay extra for more and more modalities or not. As for scheduling, this is just more of a personal issue I guess I have since I unfortunately have a very busy 40-hour computer job, and Dr. Caraza seems to be getting more popular and harder to schedule at a time convenient for me. But once again, this is not an issue with this office specifically; this shows that people really like her services. If you live near Costa Mesa and you're looking for a good chiropractor and/or acupuncturist who is very nice, friendly, professional, and will tailor your needs based on each time you come into the office and will be very transparent with how she bills you and the insurance, I can't recommend this place enough. read more

I've been seeing Dr. Caraza for few times now for my back pain and she is really great, very honest (which is rare to find), professional and so sweet to deal with. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Caraza. I came in dealing with significant discomfort, and after just a few visits I started feeling a noticeable difference. What stood out most was how genuinely caring, patient, and thorough Dr. Caraza was throughout the process. I never felt rushed, and every question I had was answered with care. The office is clean, organized, and welcoming, and the staff is wonderful. I've been seeing Dr. DeLeon for neck and shoulder pain and tension, and it has made a real difference. She's thoughtful, attentive, and really good at dialing in on what my body actually needs each session. I always leave feeling noticeably better and more relaxed. I also worked with her throughout my IVF process. During my second egg retrieval cycle, we incorporated acupuncture with e stim, and we saw improved results compared to our first round. I'm really grateful to have had her support during that time. If you're dealing with pain, stress, or going through fertility treatments, I'd absolutely recommend her. Dr. Linda and Dr. Angela are amazing..... I have never done cupping or acupuncture before so this was new for me. I have a very physical job so my lower back, legs and upper shoulder area are always soar and tender. I started acupuncture 1st, then added the cupping. It's crazy how the pain and inflammation is almost gone. Taking aspirin or pain reliever to help with the pain was a normal thing, Now I hardly ever take anything. This review is for Jack Strickland. I've been going to Jack for his neuromuscular massage techniques for over a year now. He is a diamond in the rough. He is so knowledgeable and intuitive with his work and in turn gives the best massages I've ever had. My fitness goals and athleticism have surpassed what I thought was possible since seeing Jack. He can find the kinks and knots without me even knowing where they were. On top of the work he's doing to fix my issues the massage is so relaxing. This review is for Jack, the masseuse at Elements of Wellness. I've gotten massages here and there throughout the years, but honestly never really enjoyed them or felt the benefit of getting one. They were either too intense and painful, or felt like the masseuse was following a routine and did not really address particular issues I was experience. Jack is so intuitive and knowledgeable. He really has a gift of healing and can tell how/what is ailing you. He is kind and sensitive, and the experience is truly relaxing. If I go too long without getting a massage, I can feel and sense the difference now. He utilizes a variety of techniques, and approaches each part or side of the body differently, depending on what you need. I can't recommend Jack enough! read more

I had radiating pain from my shoulder to my wrist due to weakness in my rotator cup. This was an acute pain that materialized overnight. My experiences at elements of Wellness was outstanding, Dr. Caraza used acupuncture in my shoulder, elbow and wrist, which alleviated the pain by the end of the session. The pain did not return. Jack Strickland, the massage therapist, is extremity knowledgeable and gentle to his approach. He understands the body and really knows his anatomy, something that I really appreciate!! I initially came here because my digestion was out of whack. I had been trying to solve my awful bloating on my own for months. I was eating kimchi, drinking kombucha, etc. but nothing was working. I even saw a different acupuncturist for some sessions, but they also failed to provide any relief. After doing some more research and hearing stellar reviews from my coworkers, I decided to give this place a try, and I am so glad I did! Dr. Caraza sat down with me and we talked over what may have been the root cause. She finally nailed it down to when I got food poisoning and ate all the wrong types of foods, which messed up my gut flora. I was so amazed that I hadn't even thought about that! She put me on a food regimen, and some herbal supplements and after just a couple of sessions, I felt like a new person. I had so much more energy and wasn't falling asleep in the middle of the day (it's crazy how much your gut affects things!) No more bloating, gas and discomfort. Now I go to her for so much more, I get migraines that last for days, and when I go in to see her, they finally stop! The whole staff is super accommodating and the center is so serene. My wife introduced me to Elements of Wellness several years ago, and I have had great success every time. Wether it's advice on allergies, pain, discomfort, food related allergies, Dr. Angela Caraza will take the time to listen to you & is dedicated to improving your health. You owe it to yourself to give Elements of Wellness a visit. I recently had shingles & was unable to get any relief for several months. I was suffering from deep neuralgia or nerve pain after the onset of the shingles but nothing offered relief, that is until Dr. Angela Caraza recommended having acupuncture treatments. Within 4 weeks I began to see relief and by 6 weeks my pain level had dropped from a 7-8 at the beginning , down to a 1-2. I highly recommend coming to Elements of Wellness for a range of problems. As soon as I walked in, I was kindly greeted by the receptionist and she asked if I wanted any tea or water while I waited which was nice. The office is also incredibly nice and clean. Dr. Angela Caraza took the time with me to really see what problems I wanted to fix with acupuncture and our first session we decided to work on my digestive issues and abdominal pain. Dr. Caraza is great. I've been going through chemotherapy and thought acupuncture could help me with some of my side effects. I get neuropathy in my hands and feet, and the sessions really help with them. Sometimes it goes away completely! The patient rooms are tranquil and Dr. Caraza's presence is just so calming. I was appalled at the bedside manner I received from Susan Ha. She actually made me cry during our consultation. I was very disappointed with how critical and unpleasant she was during my exam. She used words like "Oh my!" "That's not good!" She even gasped while looking at my ankle. This type of treatment is never acceptable and is always poor practice. My hope in writing this review is that she learned from my tears and will never treat future patients this way. read more

Dr. Ha is a true hidden gem!! I am so happy I found her. I've been seeing her for 4 months now for a severe neck pain. I have seen 5 other specialist before we and everyone else just kept recommending more medications, stronger medications, injections etc. But Dr. Ha was the only one that didn't give up on me and the only dr to have actually helped my condition! I used to be in so much pain everyday and even throughout the night. Thanks to Dr. Ha I have essentially cut out all pain management medications, I'm no longer in pain, and I can stand/sit straight! 100/10 would recommend!! read more
