I came here today by chance, only looking at other reviews on yelp. I was able to make a same-day appointment (although I'm not sure if they're able to do that on a regular basis). This is a smaller salon and it's neat and clean. I had a notion that I wanted a short bob, but Maria explained why that may not work for me. She asked me a lot of questions to get to know my lifestyle so that she could cut and color my hair to match. I've never been asked those questions before, and I've been to some good salons in my life. It makes me wonder why no one has asked me. I love the new color and cut. I also love that Maria taught me how to style my hair and didn't just do it for me. I definitely recommend this place! read more

Jenny was absolutely wonderful! She did my hair and makeup for a wedding and I could not have been happier with the results! See, I have really thick, difficult hair that I've always felt self-conscious about, but Jenny made my hair look absolutely beautiful. She also did a beautiful job with makeup. I went to a few other makeup artists and asked them to do a simple, natural look since I'm very unused to wearing a full face of makeup, but I always felt uncomfortable with the results. Jenny, however, made me feel lovely! She's also very sweet and friendly, so it was fun to chat with her during the appointment! They really did a good job on color correcting my hair. It was an awesome experience. They accepted me right away even though I was only a walk in. My hair was blue on my roots combined with a silver color. And they fixed that by coloring my roots black and turned it to a balayage, just like the picture I showed them. 10/10!! I walked into Elements on Saturday morning without an appointment, I was looking for someone who could 'fix' a haircut I got somewhere else three weeks prior, I was so lucky to connect with Diana J who really understood my dilemma and my hair. I dyed my hair with a purple box dye (colorista indigo) at home, 2 weeks later it turned a miserable green color stained in my blonde highlights. I came here with little hope of ever getting my hair to look normal again. 3 hours later they were able to get the green out of my hair! I'm so happy!! Plus they were so nice and didn't make fun of me for ruining my hair at all X) lesson learned. This place is amazing! It was Saturday afternoon and I needed to get my bangs cut, so they could stop getting into my eyes. I drove down grand ave looking for a salon and the street was packed with people. I walked into a few salons and they were either by appointments only or there was a long waiting line. Finally I called elements and they said they could see me in less then half an hour. Michelle layered my bangs and blended them in perfectly. She asked questions for feed back to get the haircut the way YOU want it. She styled it and told me what products she was using and how to use it. I am so happy I found Elements Salon on Yelp and gave them a try! I contacted them on a Friday, asking for an appointment the following week. I was surprised when Maria contacted me back right away, and said she could come in Monday to do this, since salons are typically closed Mondays. She even called again Sunday and said she was working that day if I wanted to come in. I was unable to, but did go on the Monday. Wow-she did an amazing job on my hair! My hair is really thick-which I know is a good problem-rather than being too thin-but my last cut was not done well. It was way too heavy for the style. I had a chin-length stacked bob cut. Maria mostly worked on thinning...and thinning some more on my hair and I am so happy with the result! She also corrected the back to have the stack blend/lay so nicely. She is super nice and attentive, listening to my preferences/looking at pictures of styles I liked. I also liked how they have a little information page they take asking your address/b-day and such. This just shows they care about their customers, and want to keep in touch-and keep you coming back! Well, Maria definitely has a new regular client for sure! I went in for Ombré and a haircut. I had my hair maybe up to my chest and cut it to my shoulders. I PAID 250 dollars for a color I didn't even want! Maria tried charging me 220 for bleaching my hair!! I told them I had dyed my hair black like a year or more ago but I cut my hair a little past my shoulders like 3 or 4 times ever since. I later on mentioned I had gotten blue ombré like 3 years ago so she said that that's why my hair wasn't coming out blonde like wth! She was rude when she was saying it too! So I had thought that I was going to pay 220 dollars for like a Smokey gray or a blue right? WRONG! She was ready to straighten my hair after bleaching my hair so I told her that I thought I was going to get color she gave me two options dark purple or red I had to chose purple and it doesn't even look purple!!! It went up to 250!!! I'm only giving this review one star because of Ashley she was super nice! Never will I go back to this place! read more

Jenny has been doing my hair for the past 3 years and I absolutely love her. I found her completely by accident when I needed someone to fix the disaster of a bleached mess that another hairdresser had done to my hair. She had a big cancellation that day and I was able to get in...It was meant to be :) I've been with her ever since and I recommend her to everyone. She even cuts all 3 of my kids hair. My boys are always asking when they get to go see Jenny again. She is great with color and cuts and she really listens to what you want and knows how to keep you happy. We have a very full schedule with sports practices and after school activities and she will always rearrange her schedule to fit us in even if it means staying until 9pm. read more

I had my longer, thick hair cut by and colored by the owner Diana Jimenez. She did a fantastic job! Best hair cut I've ever had. Plus she taught me some helpful styling tips. I'm transitioning from coloring my hair to letting it grow out gray. She in put in dark low lights so I don't look so much like a skunk as it growing out. Taylor saved my hair from horrible hair cuts and bad dye jobs. I've been going to her for the past year and I refuse to go anywhere else, even though I moved toward Oceanside. She is always taking care of me and making sure that my cut and color is exactly what I want (even if she has to try and interpret what I'm asking for). I agree with Jennifer R's 5-17-2018 post. If I could give Maria (the salon owner) a ZERO rating I would. She was rude beyond belief! The worst stylist ever! Ruined my hair! BEWARE!!! She said negative things about my previous stylist (who was on vacation) saying 'No professional would use Joico K-pak hair color and no professional would use AG Colour Savour shampoo" She kept moaning about what bad condition my hair was in. I told her I was trying to grow my layers out and that I just wanted a trim I should have just left because what she did next will take years to recover. She took a large section of my hair in the back near the top and cut it off to 2 inches in length! My hair is below shoulder length. That portion of hair is a problem area to be sure, its thick and curly and unruly but you dont just cut off unruly hair! I didnt know she had done it till I got home. She quickly did a blow out then turned the swivel chair to face the door and just walked away without a word! I cant believe that shop is till in business with an owner like that! This is only my second review I've ever written on here and I felt like I needed people to know how incredibly ecstatic I was with the outcome of my hairstyle and color. First off, I called very last minute to see if I could come in that day for a haircut and possibly a hair color. I explained to them that I haven't dyed my hair since 1994 and was very traumatized by that experience with my hair becoming very brittle. I spoke with Ashley over the phone and was told that she could take me in later that afternoon and could also do a hair coloring consultation with me. During my hair appointment both Ashley and Maria explained the different types and styles of coloring ie., highlights, panels, or lift. They made me feel confident in their expertise since I had no idea on that topic. As I finally decided to get my hair colored, I talked about a salsa class I was in and had a final dance exam the next day at 11am. I told them how I wanted to style my hair like Vanessa Williams in "Dance with Me" and Maria knew exactly what I was talking about and offered to come in earlier for me (7:30am) to style my hair before my dance class. I just have to say that I really love the color of my hair (burgundy) and am impressed with the customer service that both Maria and Ashley showed me that day :) I've also received a lot of nice compliments from my classmates and instructor during my dance final. This place had a nice atmosphere, but I was less than impressed with my haircut. I asked to get a couple inches cut off and for it to be straight across the bottom. I got the inches cut off but you can tell where each cut was. It looks like the bottom of my hair is a set of stairs. Of course I couldn't tell when I left because the stylist had curled my hair under with a roll brush. If you go here, I would ask them to straighten your hair so you can see everything right then and there! read more

I just started going to Elements last year and was very lucky to get Gretchen Alfonso on my first visit, she has been doing my hair ever since and I have loved what's she's done. To be honest, the hair stylist that I worked with here was great. Great listener, great conversationalist, and good at listening to what I wanted. I'm rating this 2/5 stars solely on the owner of the place. She is incredibly pushy, and once your stylist is done, immediately takes you away and tries to push products on you. I was literally talking with my hair stylist about products for my hair and the owner walked up and basically butt her way into our conversation and told my stylist to go away - not another client, just.. to go. I felt it was incredibly rude. Here's a friendly piece of advice, owner lady, I don't know you. I didn't spend the last hour building a rapport with you, you didn't provide any service to me - the hairstylist you employed did. Let THEM use that relationship to try and sell me things. I didn't buy anything from you because you were rude and pushy, and I'm actually not coming back to your salon EVEN though I really liked my stylist, solely so I don't have to see you again. I hope you either see this and change your business practices, or lose your stylists so you're forced to. read more

I moved to Escondido several months ago and couldn't make the drive to my prior hairdresser anymore. I was nervous to just walk in to a random salon, hoping that whomever's chair I had the luck to sit in would understand my style and needs right off the bat. Well, I did get lucky and found a great salon and hairdresser! Today, I walked in and was greeted by a friendly front desk person, Norma. I only had to wait about 20 minutes, but was offered water and a cozy seat while waiting. Angie came out and greeted me, sat me down in her chair and really took the time to listen to what I wanted. It had been several months since I had a cut/style (pregnancy hormones and prenatal vitamins added lots of extra length to my locks as well), and my 'do really needed some major work. She spent at least an hour and a half taming my hair and did some touch up work after blow drying to make sure it was cut just right. You can tell she really loves what she does and she knows that a great cut can do miracles. My last stylist left a lot to be desired and I always felt rushed. Today I left feeling like a refreshed version of myself, and I'm grateful to Angie for a much needed, great cut & style! read more
