Several of our neighbors turned us on to Elena. Two of our immediate neighbors use her on a monthly or biweekly basis. We decided that it would be good for our healty (and new marriage) to have someone come in once monthly and clean the house. We (mostly me) can keep the house fairly clean most of the time, but it really is great to have someone come in and do all the real deep cleaning. Elena and her colleague clean for about 3 hours once a month. They have been her twice now. The price is very reasonable. The house is spotless when they are done. Both bathrooms are cleaned from bottom to top. The upstairs and stairs (which I refuse to do anyway) are vacuumed. The hardwood cleaned. Everything dusted. The stove top immaculately cleaned. The house smells so fresh and clean like bleach when we come home. Elena and her team are very trustworthy. We are rarely around when they are home and we trust them. I would highly recommend them to anyone. They do many houses in the Rockridge area, but likely cover the Richmond, Berkeley, Emeryville areas as well. read more

Every other Thursday I walk into my house and look around, amazed at the attention that ECS puts into my home. This week, they cleaned my fridge (and it was a MESS) and folded and put away all of my children's too-small clothes that I was storing on the changing table (which unfortunately added to my work, since I had to take them all out again and get rid of them, but it's the thought that counts). They use Method cleaners, I believe, and put away things very neatly. Even on days when I don't have time to tidy up first, it's impeccable when I return. The only thing that makes it hard is that they don't know where to put kitchen stuff, so it's hard to find items sometimes. I work from home plus I have cats (+ a guy who is a lovable slob) so my house gets pretty wrecked. I had Elena (and crew) come by for a deep clean and they did a great job. The ladies really worked to get things in shape. (My floors got scrubbed, the bathrooms were sparkly, and the dustballs vanished from the hard to reach corners.) I found Elena on yelp and she's now cleaned our condo twice. Like the previous reviewer, my boyfriend and I thought it would be wise for us to have someone come once a month to do the heavier cleaning (bathroom, floors, windows) that we never seem to make the time to do. Elena and her daughter do great work -- the place is spotless when I get home. Even though I tell her to do just the bathroom, floors, and windows, she's incredibly efficient with her time and pretty much cleans the whole place from top to bottom in under three hours. Beyond being totally thorough, she is also very trustworthy and her rates are quite reasonable, especially given that she brings her own supplies. I admit that psychologically it's a little tough for me to have someone else clean up after us, but in these tough economic times, I remind myself that there are a lot of people out there who need work and they shouldn't be punished by my white guilt. Besides, the smell of a clean house usually calms my tortured psyche pretty quickly. read more

I called on a Friday morning and they came to my place that night to do an estimate. They wanted to wait 5 days to do the cleaning, but I already had a carpet cleaner scheduled, so eventually they agreed to do it on Monday. They said $100 to deep clean my 2 bedroom, 1 bath apartment (roughly 1100 sq ft), which I thought was incredibly reasonable considering it had been a year since our place experienced that level of cleaning. Elena and her daughter Lisa took 4 hours to clean my place (they initially thought it would only take 3) and still charged me the same amount they quoted. They only missed one thing I requested but I think they may have tried and didn't have the right tools. I tried to clean it afterwards (black marks on window sills) and hot water with soap didn't work. My mom suggested a magic eraser and that did the trick in just a minute worth of rubbing. I left them alone in my house even though I had just met them (I know, kind of dumb but sometimes you just meet people that seem trustworthy). Looking through my things afterwards left me completely satisfied. They also did plenty of things I didn't ask them to do, such as clean out my nasty microwave. They only complaint I had was when I asked them what their once a month charge would be and they quoted me $100 again. I definitely can't pay $100 a month for cleaning, but I thought if they came on a monthly basis it would be less than a deep spring cleaning. I would be curious if others are paying this and if it's for a house or an apartment? I will probably only use them when I feel the need for a deep clean at that price. read more

Elena only came the very first time and the work started to go downhill. Still great to have a clean home (better than I've been able to do) but they were not as great as the first time they came and got progressively less detailed. read more

All I have to say is WOW! I needed to get my house cleaned because I was moving out. Let's just say it was a HUGE mess. I had not cleaned or vacuumed the carpet since I moved in over a year ago, and I'm guy. I mean seriously, it was NASTY. I called some other service and they quoted me lik 160 bucks or more for my one bedroom duplex. I saw the reviews on yelp for this place so I called up Elena. Some guy answers the phone, and Im getting a little skeptical. I think it was her son, but he was professional. He asks me where the house was, how big, all the specs. He then sets up an appointment for the next day, and they came when I needed them (after work)! Two women showed up, and quoted me a 100 bucks! Im thinking thats a steal compared to the other cleaning place, and I know when they would have actually seen my pig sty of a home they wouldve charged me more. So I set it up to get my house cleaned. They came in at 8 am, and were done a little before 12, just the amount of time they told me it would take. I was amazed at the AMAZING job they had done. My house was spotless. My landlord even thanked me for leaving the house SO CLEAN. Elena's cleaning service is great. And Im thinking about getting them to come to my new house too! They also said it would be a lot less money because the house would have furniture in it. So go ahead and call them!!! read more

After sitting down with her and her very professional and nice daughter, Lisette, I had a good feeling I found the right team. We scheduled an appointment for a deep cleaning and she was there right on time, despite the rainy weather. She and her team member got started right away and didn't stop once for a period of five hours before my home was spic and span. I swear I have never seen my home in such immaculate shape and places cleaned that I would have never considered. I couldn't help but pay her above our agreed price and I have hired her to be our regular housecleaning service. Overall they were ok. They cleaned the house fairly well and seemed trustworthy, especially the couple of times when Elena came. Unfortunately, the cleaners were sometimes late without notice and the cleaning was uneven. The worst part was that they damaged surfaces on several occasions. I called her about 2 weeks prior to the move and was quoted $50.00 an hour for an estimate of 3-4 hours for a 3 bdrm 2bth house 1500 sq ft. Elena's cleaning service did a fabulous job under very special circumstances. I was having an apartment cleaned for someone else, and I was unaware that the electricity in the apartment was off. Despite this, Elean's daughter and her team went in and did everything in the dark (without being able to plug in such key appliances such as a vaccumm), including sweeping/cleaning out the fireplace, and scrubbing down the bathroom (which doesn't have any windows, and subsequently, no light). The place ended up looking fabulous and definitely ready for the tenants to move in. I would recommend her to anyone. read more

They are very hard working and polite. Even though the service does not include cleaning the exterior.
