When I got home, I noticed there was no basil present in the rice but it had plenty of bell peppers, onion and scallions...I can't stand bell peppers and way too many onions were present. One of the best Thai places I've ever been to, it's such a hole in the wall but the vibes are amazing! When you walk in there's elephants everywhere and a hint of Thai culture everywhere even at your seat. The food is always amazing, I've been here multiple times and the price is pretty reasonable esp if you come for lunch on the weekdays it's a good amount of food. The service is great also, they're always friendly and the food comes out so quick. This place never disappoints, I definitely recommend anyone in the area to try this place! read more

I don't know why I ever venture elsewhere when I crave Thai. Their prices are amazing for the portion and delicious quality. Every dish we've ever ordered has been extremely flavorful. On weekdays, they have a lunch special available for both takeout and dine in for $11 which includes and entree, a side of rice, a salad and a small soup. You really can't beat it. Quarantined but craving pad Thai, and lucky for us Elephant Cafe is free delivery on Uber Eats! The food came 15 min faster than estimated, and the restaurant got all our customizations correct. Pad Thai - 3/5 it was just ok, not as flavorful as I had imagined? The meat was kind of dry as well. We got a mild and a medium, both were pretty spicy! Portion is pretty big and decent, enough for a second meal. Thai tea - 4/5 not the best I've ever had but it fulfilled my craving. Chicken Skewer - 4/5 pretty good! Stopped by for lunch and think I've found my go-to Thai restaurant! The restaurant was very homey and had the most delicious Thai cuisine that I have had in the Orange County area. Can't recommend this place enough given their amazing flavor, large portions, and friendly service. The dishes I tried were the tom kha soup, the panang curry with pork, and the pad kee mao with chicken. The tom kha soup was really flavorful, a bit sour, sweet, and savory. There were tons of veggies in the soup and the small was definitely a great sharing size for 2 people, especially if you want to share and try a few different dishes. The panang curry was very creamy and well-balanced, and the mild spice level was not spicy at all. It was surprisingly very different than the panang curries I have tried in the Irvine/Tustin area and tasted so much better. Finally, the pad kee mao was sweet and savory. The noodles were perfectly cooked, not too soft or broken up. The servers were very friendly and came to check in on us often! I think this would be a great place for vegetarians since all of the dishes can come without meat and they taste delicious with or without meat. Also, on weekdays, excluding holidays, they have an $11 lunch special where you can get an entree, soup, salad, and rice. I can't wait to return the next time I have a Thai food craving and looking forward to trying the mango sticky rice. read more

Some family was visiting me from out of town and I decided to take them to Elephant Cafe as they wanted to try Thai food. We ordered pad Thai, red curry chicken, green curry chicken, cashew chicken, and ginger fish. They used to offer free Thai iced tea with check in several years back, but that is no longer the case. Pad Thai chicken ($11) - This consisted of stir fried rice noodles, eggs, bean sprouts, green onions, and tender pieces of chicken. It was so flavorful, delicious, and one of the best versions of pad Thai that I have tried. Ginger Fish ($13) - This came with a few pieces of lightly fried fish stir fried with some Asian vegetable. The fish wasn't as crispy as I was hoping for nor was the quantity of fish plentiful. Taste wise this dish was just ok. Green Curry Chicken ($11) - Elephant job does an amazing job with their curry dishes. This green curry dish had a thick consistency, flavorful, and had a nice kick to it. It consisted of egg plants, bell peppers, bamboo, basil, green bean, and chicken. This dish as well as the red curry chicken dish were my favorites. Red Curry Chicken ($11) - This dish was prepared with bell peppers, bamboo, basil, green beans, zucchini in a coconut milk based red curry sauce. It was delicious! Cashew Chicken ($11) - This was a stir fried chicken dish with cashew nuts, onions, and bell peppers. It was ok taste wise. Overall the food tasted great, especially the curry dishes and the pad Thai. The prices are reasonable and the service is on point. This is a great place to go to get Thai food in south Orange County. read more

We've been coming here on a monthly basis. The food is good. But the service is just okay, as is the wait time after the order has been placed. What really sucks is how filthy the men's bathroom is. The urinal is out of order. How long would it take to get a plumber in to replace it? This place is always busy but I'm not coming back anytime soon until the bathroom is repaired! read more

3.5 I ordered drunken noodles and pad see ew for delivery from DD. The drinken noodles were super flavorful and the noodles are perfectly cooked. I got Medium spicy and it was wayyyyyy too spicy and I can usually handle spice. The pad see ew was also pretty flavorful and cooked well. I wish they used the chinese broccoli instead of the regular broccoli though. Hands down, best yellow curry I've ever eaten, and that includes in Thailand (the country itself). It has the perfect blend of spices, and not too many strange, questionable vegetables that make a man go, "Hmmm." The meat is high quality and plentiful, but I've also ordered it without meat, and it was just as good. The service is wonderful here as well. I've been on the hunt for a great Thai food place when I'm visiting my second home in OC, and by golly, I've finally found it!
