My optometrist is located in the complex next to Tian Tian and I had a bit of a busy day, so placed an order through their website for pick up. I was happy that it was ready in about 10 minutes! I opted for one of the lunch bento boxes with orange chicken and Mongolian beef. I preferred the chicken; the beef cut wasn't to my liking - but the chicken was so flavorful! The combo was also served with white rice. I was able to make about a meal and a half out of it, which I appreciated. There are a decent amount of tables inside; you can also order for take out. I placed my pickup order an hour and a half ago and was told to arrive at 7:15 pm. I got there right on time, but the food wasn't ready. The staff said it would be "just a few more minutes." Twenty minutes later--at 7:35 pm--I was still waiting with nothing but repeated apologies. What frustrates me most is the lack of honesty. If they had been upfront and told me it would take another 20 minutes, I could have run an errand or waited elsewhere instead of standing around getting increasingly annoyed. On top of that, when I finally received the order, the food wasn't properly placed in the bag. I leave this review to even out my original visit. We were so excited to visit again and bring our family. Unfortunately, this was a very different experience. The bento boxes were full - definitely not skimping on portions - but the flavor was not the same as the first visit. The orange chicken did not have much flavor. Tian Tian Eatery is an Asian restaurant that offers Chinese, Japanese, and Thai dishes. It's a casual place with about 10 tables. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. They also offer lunch and dinner bento box specials. Rainbow roll ($15) - This was basically a California roll topped with salmon, tuna, and avocado. Unfortunately the quality of the fish was the type one finds at the grocery store. It wasn't very fesh. Red curry chicken ($15) - This had strong coconut flavors and was just ok taste wise. Nothing really stood out. Beef broccoli ($15) - The beef was tender, but it was just average taste wise. I've had better elsewhere. Cumin chicken ($15) - This stir fried chicken dish had onions, bell peppers, and great cumin flavoring. It was my favorite dish of the meal. Someone recommended this place as a great Chinese lunch spot, so off I went to check it out! They're located in Ladera Ranch in a medium-sized shopping plaza, across from condos and Montessori. There's a decent amount of parking spaces, but I can see how it would get filled quickly during busy hours. It's a somewhat small restaurant with several chairs around a bar area, and several tables to sit and eat. I ordered my food online, and it was ready in less than 30 min. I was happy to see that they offer Lunch Bentos for $14.99. You can select 2 items from a list of 14 choices. It also comes with rice. I ordered the orange chicken and General Tso's chicken. Both items were very flavorful, however they tasted too much alike. Next time I won't order 2 chicken dishes at the same time. What I loved most about the Lunch Bentos is that you can order them gluten free for $2 extra, which is what I did. I couldn't tell that it was GF as it tasted just like the regular thing, but they probably swapped out the wheat flour in the batter for GF flour, and probably used GF soy sauce in the orange sauce. This is a super nice couple that make some really nice Chinese/Japanese food. It can be a little hard to find, as it's blended in with a bunch of medical business. Their prices are very reasonable with many varieties to choose from. I recommend the tempura, orange chicken and the Mongolian beef. So, we initially went to Franco's to celebrate a great appraisal inspection but found it wasn't open for another hour. Remembered that this place, Tian Tian had great reviews so we opted to check this establishment out for late lunch. Easy to find, inside was clean, bright, and organized. Owner Teri, greeted us right away with a smile as we sat at a booth/table. We ordered boba drinks and appetizer (calamari). The drinks and appetizer was good. Our entrees were: Chicken Lo Mien, Combo Tian Tian Fried Rice, Miso Soup, Orange Chicken, and Beef Broccoli. All I all, very tasty, serving sizes was good for 4 people and had enough to have left overs to take home. Teri was so friendly and made small talk with us and made us feel welcomed. My only wish is if they could move closer to the main hub of the Mercantile East area on Antonio Pkwy and Crown Valley. I tried this place after reading reviews on Yelp, and also liked the idea of an Asian fusion, but I thought it was just okay. I got the lunch bento box and the portions were small for the price. Seemed odd to me how it was plated too. The food also was okay. The Kung Pao chicken didn't have a lot of veggies which usually it does and the flavor was alright. The CA roll was okay as well. The cucumber salad, which was an appetizer was a good size portion compared to the bento box, which is interesting. The taste was good, more vinegar-based. Stopped by during happy hour and honestly loved everything we tried. Happy hour is Monday-Thursday from 3-6 pm and includes their house white wine (Brady's White Blend), which was crisp, smooth, and super easy to drink. We ordered the orange chicken and broccoli beef and both were so fresh and flavorful. The chili oil wontons were a standout -- made in house with just the right amount of heat that doesn't overpower anything. They also brought out a complimentary house salad with fresh cabbage, ginger, sesame oil, and more, which was such a nice surprise. We finished our meal finding out the spot is owned by the sweetest husband and wife duo, Liu and Terri, and you can really feel the care they put into both the food and the experience. Good find in Ladera Ranch area. Needed to grab lunch for in between basketball games just up the street. We ordered the ZHa jiang, dan dan and a wonton soup. My son loved the flavor of the Zha jiang and my husband loved the dan dan, only complaint was the noodles did not seem authentic. The wonton soup was simple and filling would order again. The hot & sour soup was perfectly balanced, comforting, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The Thai spicy chicken had just the right amount of heat, great depth of flavor, and was cooked beautifully. Portions were satisfying, and the prices are very reasonable for the area. My new favorite Asian restaurant in south OC! It was a cold night and didn't feel like cooking so I treated myself to take out. There's convenient parking right in front of the restaurant and you feel like you're in Asia as soon as you step in. It feels like modern Manila or Taipei. The owner was very sweet and gave a good recommendation for Kung Pao chicken so I decided to try it. I also order the chicken fried rice. It didn't take long at all to receive my food. When I got home I pleasantly surprised. The Kung Pao was so dang good I had to stop myself over eating. The chicken fried rice was equally addictive. The chicken was fresh and well seasoned. Took the place of the old Forte Mediterranean Bistro. Wasn't sure what to expect. The menu is Chinese and Thai food. Every thing exceeded expectations. The Lo mein was good. They can make the mapo tofu without pork. It was pretty good. Tian tian chicken and Thai Spicy chicken were also excellent. The Szechuan green beans were also really good. Got the dan dan noodles, green beans, wontons, general tsao's chicken, and mongolian beef. Was tons of food for the price, so we had 3 more servings leftover after 3 of us ate. Everything was so flavorful and fresh! The only thing I wouldn't get again was the mongolian beef - the flavor wasn't as deep as I was expecting, and it was mostly onions. Welcome to Tian Tian, my new favorite Chinese/Pan Asian eatery. My wife and I had lunch there and met the owners, a lovely couple, originally from Central China. Tian Tian means "everyday", as in the cuisine is light enough to eat everyday, and I certainly saw that thread through our meal. The eatery will officially open on June 24th but is indeed currently open for business (closed on Tuesdays) and is adjacent to Xclusive, a fav Mexican restaurant of mine. We were greeted with a complimentary salad of cabbage with sesame oil, garlic and red pepper flakes that woke up the taste buds. We started with veggie rolls, followed by wonton soup and sweet and sour soup and both were light, fresh and outstanding. We shared a veggie lo mein dish with thin noodles that was also nicely light and fresh. They will have a liquor license in two weeks, serving beer and wine. There are only seven or so tables so bear that in mind but I imagine their takeout business will be brisk. I am looking forward to trying more of their dishes on subsequent visits. Their food is really good! I ordered the House Special Beef Noodle and it was sooo good. You can order it either with rice noodle or their hand made round noodle. The serving is quite big. See photo for reference. My husband ordered the Minced Pork bowl with rice. You can order it with noodles if you want. The serving is quite big as well. He normally can eat a lot but he still had some left after. Well to be fair he had a small bowl of hot and sour soup too. They also gave us complimentary salad (or maybe it comes with the order?). My first visit to Tian Tian Eatery was disappointing due to service. It was clear the owner was trying to do everything themselves without any help, and it showed, service was extremely slow and disorganized. I decided to give them a second chance, thinking I could avoid the service issues by ordering takeout. That turned out to be a mistake. The dumplings I ordered as an appetizer were lukewarm at best, borderline cold. Even worse, I ended up dealing with a pretty bad stomach issue in the middle of the night after eating there. Kung pao was good, but I'd prefer more veggies instead of chicken. Food seemed healthy in the sense that it's not oily, too sweet or salty. Very close to perfection. Portion size was great, I'm sure no one can finish the rice and protein in a single meal. Pricing is good, but for what they offer I think it can a bit higher. I feel the protein in bento box can be cut down a bit (~20%) and replaced with veggies, rice should be 1/4th or 1/5th of what's given. read more

When I asked about it, I was told they are the typical noodles they use despite tasting like pasta and appearing very different than the online pictures.
