One of go to Thai spots in Vallejo. Upon arrival you may be wondering if you're in the right place due to the sparse plaza and sketchy lot. But when you enter it's like you're transported to Thailand, the spacious interior teeming with vibrant aesthetics. The service was hit or miss, though there weren't that many people. We ordered a variety of dishes but the cadence of food arrival was very sporadic. I had to go up a few times to ask for napkins and water refills. I wasn't impressed with the appetizers- chicken wings and calamari portions were basic and small. The prawn pad Thai, pineapple and crab fried rice dishes and the desserts were pretty good. With so many Thai places that have great service and food, this place was mediocre. At least parking is free- probably best for takeout! read more

This place has been trending in my area and I kept seeing other Yelpers rave about it, so I finally tried it. I was overdue for a night out but opted for pickup--and the food did not disappoint. Everything people mentioned in the reviews is true. The Tom Kee Moo with wide flat egg noodles has that perfect smoky, charred flavor--nailed. The tempura shrimp are crispy and delicious, and the spicy basil chicken is outstanding. The shrimp and chicken fried rice is also a must. The staff are bubbly and friendly both on the phone and in person. The restaurant has a beautiful Thai vibe with artifacts, heavy wooden tables, and the signature elephant decor. Disappointed in this restaurant. After all these years supporting them. I recently ordered twice from DoorDash and both my orders were canceled. So, I was curious. First reason, items were not available. Which was odd. Second time, store issues and I was refunded. So, I called the restaurant, come to find out, they didn't want to honor the $10 credit I earned from ordering from them via DoorDash. But that doesn't come out from their restaurant earnings. DoorDash pays for that $10 as a promotion to the customer. I don't think they understood that part. Poor business conduct. No longer supporting this establishment. read more

Although the outside ambiance is not the most appealing or desirable, I have found this restaurant to be one of my favorites. I'm sad that the neighborhood community has declined the way it has, but it does not reflect what this restaurant has to offer. Every time I've been there, I have received nothing but excellent service; they are always so welcoming and helpful in guiding me to something perfect for me on the menu. Plus, I love the food, so many great options. You can't go wrong with the yellow curry. I especially love the pineapple fried rice, and I think it's fantastic that they offer half-size appetizers. We ordered shrimp tempura, calamari, crispy duck, orange chicken, beef drunken noodles, and crab fried rice (we were given chicken fried rice but we didn't raise an issue even if we were disappointed). The orange chicken was tasty but the chicken inside the breading was quite dry. Their drunken noodles wasn't as good as I'm used to though theirs isn't bad. All the rest were delicious. read more

We happen to walk in with returning customers who were greeted by the owner. Right away we felt the genuine hospitality and care for the customers. While the physical location is not ideal, stepping into the restaurant makes your feel right at home. The holiday vibes and very authentic Thai feel are welcoming and provide a very cozy feel (but not in a crowded way). I can't wait to go back and try more food! I know nothing about Thai food except I don't care for curry. Place was really cool. Clean, well decorated. Service was very friendly. I said I had no idea about Thai food. Server made many recommendations, some Thai, some Chinese. I chose shrimp Pad Thai. It was tasty. A little sweet. Added a drizzle of chili sauce, balanced it out. Elephant Thai Cusine is a major upgraded space from other thai restaurants that previously occupied this building. The people that own this place now put alot of work into the decor. The service and food feels 1000% better as well. My mom and I treated ourselves to Sunday dinner with starting appetizers of egg rolls and cream cheese rangoons. We have been meaning to try this place for a long time. Our favorite Thai was at this same location. We had heard great things about Elephant Thai but hadn't tried it for ourselves. We got parking right upfront, the inside of the restaurant is so pretty, there's so many beautiful decorations, it's a little elegant oasis. We went on a Sunday after 3. We were sat and give water right away. We were a party of 3. We ordered the 1/2 order of the following appetizers: Fresh rolls (shrimp) (one cut in 3 pieces), coconut shrimp (3), tempura shrimp (3) and cream cheese wonton (4) (ordered another 1/2 because they were so good!). The appetizers were delicious, $6 for each 1/2 order. We did not have to wait too long for them to come out. For our main dishes (which we got 0 pictures of) we ordered a bowl of the Tom Kha soup and 2 green chicken curries, an extra order of steam rice and a small cucumber salad. The green curry was delicious (spicy) as was the Tom Kha soup, the cucumber salad was refreshing a good pair to the spicy curry. The portions do feel small what we are accustomed to, but we were satisfied. The cucumber salad portion was very small for $3. The soup was $12 and the green curry was $14 each. My daughter also ordered a Thai tea with boba, which she said was really good. At the end of our meal we were offered dessert but had no room. We were very pleased with our overall experience. Found this cute little spot nearby six flags discovery kingdom. The interior is decorated for Christmas and the ambiance overall is very nice. Food took a little long to come out but service was very good. As for the food, I think it was just okay. We got the half calamari and half chicken wings which were $6 each, but the portions was very small so I would skip on the appetizers. The bbq chicken was very good, tender, and was a lot, we had to pack this home. The boat noodle was good, but not the best I've had. It was on the salty side, so I added lime which helped a lot. They made us feel very welcome upon our visit. We did not have to wait too long for our food. The staff also made sure to keep our water filled. They were very courteous to help us with anything. The ambiance was pretty nice. Loved the decor inside of the restaurant. There was a lot of artwork across the place. It was very vibrant and presentable. Very appealing to our eyes. Saw this place last time I went to the (also great) Korean restaurant next door and decided to give it a try. Anyway, the important information you are here for is THE FOOD IS AMAZING and not expensive! Plus, the people working here were all super nice. Service and delivery of the food to our table was prompt which was great because I was hungry! But, I can't leave five stars for one simple reason... it's loud here. First off, there was a loud beep every like minute or two from something in the restaurant. Second, they have one of those door dinger things that makes a really loud chime every time someone opens the front door. I understand having that and putting the speaker in the back, but the speaker for that thing is right up front and it's annoying! This is easily a five star restaurant as the food, value, and service are on point, but those beeping and bonging noises ruined it for me. I will try again in a few months and see if they've resolved this noise issue. read more

Went with the family for dinner and the staff were so kind and accommodating. Food was great and I always enjoy their food. The place is so beautiful! You can just get caught up in the ambiance of the place . There were two small negatives I did have. We had a party of 6 and on our bill there was a service fee of 18%, but it wasn't the gratuity nor the tip. Which I think is weird. Also some of my family members felt that their food they took home was smaller than what was left on their plates. The staff took your B plate in the back to wrap up your food for you, but my takeout food was a decent size I believe. lol read more

I have ordered fried rice with basil at every Thai restaurant I've been to. The rice here was delicious and packed with flavor. It was a slightly "wet" rice with sauce poured over and cooked in a wok rather than a "dry" fried rice where the sauce feels like it's absorbed into the rice. The beef salad was also packed with flavor. Be careful as this one is spicy, even at mild spice! The chicken satay was your average grilled chicken but came with a savory, peanut-butter sauce. We finally tried this restaurant since Thai food is my number one favorite, and I've read so many good reviews. The atmosphere was authentic and the instrumental muzak created lovely ambiance. The food was excellent; flavorful and exotic as it should be. Service was great and very friendly. Even my husband enjoyed everything and said we "definitely must come back"...which we definitely will be doing. Finally, something that gives true restaurant vibes here in Vallejo and it's family-owned. I've been here twice, and both times were equally excellent. The menu is extensive, offering plenty to choose from. Appetizers ordered were: Chicken lettuce wraps, 10/10, the peanut sauce is the cherry on top! Chicken wings, 10/10. Coconut shrimp, 8/10, because they weren't plated like the picture but still tasty. Cream cheese wontons, 8/10, the wontons tasted stale. As for the entrees: spicy fried rice and the crab fried rice both 10/10, but I prefer the spicy rice because the flavor was unique. Chicken wonton soup was flavorful. I hate a bland broth, which was not the case here. Garlic pepper steak, 6/10 the steak was tough and the flavor didn't hit the mark for me. Last but not least, the Pad Prik Khing this is something native, so I'm not sure what it's supposed to taste like, but I'd rate it a 5/10. Just wasn't for me. The Thai iced coffee w/boba was so good I was craving one the very next day. I'll definitely be back to try more of what the menu has to offer. read more

Wow, what a short trip to Thailand! Don't let the oppressed strip mall fool you because once you walk through the door of this restaurant, you will be transported to Bangkok and be greeted with smiles and food. Before even ordering lunch, a lovely lady came and delivered a soup and salad to us. My husband ordered some steamed gyoza accompanied with a sweet-n-savory sauce. Next we had Pad See Ew and Spicy Eggplant which included white rice shaped like a flower bloom. The server paced our food out beautifully and they never let my water glass run dry. They also placed a spice rack on the table without us asking for it. All of the ingredients were fresh and everything tasted great. What a nice lunch. Thank you. We just had dinner at Elephant Thai and I cannot recommend it enough! The service, the decor, and, of course, the food were excellent! I have been fortunate enough to try a lot of Thai food throughout my life including this past summer when I traveled through various cities in Thailand. Elephant Thai hit the nail on the head with the flavors and ambiance. They clearly take of pride in the food they serve and the restaurant itself. The staff was super friendly and attentive as well. I can't believe they've only been open for a year! The space is big, with plenty of tables and they have lot of beautiful decor and photos that will transport you to Thailand even if just for the evening. I highly recommend this for your next dinner out with friends and family or even just because you like Thai food. I will be making this an addition to our restaurant rotation. My ratings are on a scale of 1-10 based on flavor/taste and spice level: 1) Pad See Ew with Chicken (8/10) 2) Pineapple Fried Rice (8/10) 3) Praram with Chicken (came with small rice) (7/10) 4) Spring Rolls (7/10) 5) Fried Egg Rolls (10/10) When I arrived, the two ladies in the establishment immediately greeted me with a smile and confirmed my order was ready. They were very sweet and friendly and told me to let them know how everything was. The decor in the restaurant was gorgeous! I loved that the tables were already set for dining. Very cute, authentic looking and very inviting! All the food was piping hot when I got home and although I spent almost $80 on this meal, the prices are comparable to other Thai restaurants in the area and reasonably priced. The food was pretty good and well packaged for transport back to home. They didn't scrimp on portions, although the Praram could could have been filled a little more and the peanut sauce could have been a little sweeter and thinner for my taste. Personally, I think the spice level could have been turned up a notch, but all in all, everything was pretty good. I've had better Thai food at other places, but I'm not complaining. Just check the photos On to the food. Everything was on point, the pad see ew, broccoli beef, and egg rolls were cooked well and tasted delicious.
