Some of the best kbbq I've had! Upon entering the restaurant is very nice and has a nice little waiting area in case there is a bit of a wait. We were seated right away though. The staff were very nice and on top of it! Getting in orders and helping us out with what to order and how much to order for our group size. So that was very helpful! Very on top of water and refills on drinks as well! The food was amazing! The appetizers were so good! Some of the best lemon pepper wings I've had so definitely check those out! They offer ramen and fries on their appetizer menu so that's different but very cool. The meat itself was fresh and well marinated and very good They offer really fun and different alcohol drinks to try out as well so worth looking into when visiting The only thing would be some of the tables don't have vents directly over them, so you might get smoked out by the table next to you. Not a big deal, they're pretty on top of grill changes and may only be for a second The have high ceilings so most of the smoke goes straight up but in our case came over to our table. Smelled good though The price is reasonable and they even offer sushi for a up charge so maybe that's worth checking out on another visit! All in all great kbbq spot! Love to see a new kbbq spot in this area! Walked in on a Sunday afternoon and didn't have to wait, which was surprising. Super nice interior and large group friendly. At a first glance of the menu, it seems pretty standard to most kbbq places. I didn't really see Wagyu or noticeably special meat options even on the premium menu, so I'd recommend getting the base menu. Definitely on the pricier side at $36.99 from Friday to Sunday for what you get. You do have an option to upgrade for more seafood and sushi / nigiri options! There were lots of appetizers to choose from, but we got the lemon pepper wings which were a hittt. Crunchy and juicy! They had banchan available like your kimchi, cucumber kimchi, Mac salad, sprouts, broccoli, and potato. I'm a huge fan of the potato side, so I was glad that our waiter let us refill specific sides that we wanted haha. Other than that, pretty decent selection. Rice was on the drier side. Loved ordering their beef belly, beef brisket, and garlic thin sliced pork belly. Their house sauce was also fire. One thing to note though was that our grill did always get quite smoky at a faster rate than usual, so we had to get a grill change quite often. OK, so I'm from the Bay Area and I've eaten had some wonderful and delicious Korean barbecue places. This place is reasonably priced. I do have to say so that's OK. I believe it was about $33 or $35 or something around there for the regular menu. I put ourselves on the waitlist for Friday night, but you definitely did not need a reservation or if we put on a waitlist. We walked right in and it was just a couple minutes and we were set at our table. I am used to sitting down and instantly having all these different sides, presented to us. This place is definitely a little bit different. You have to order a certain way, which kind of threw me off. But it definitely helps with the waste of food. I do have to say the ambience is pretty cool. It reminds me of Gen Z, which is in Concord. Like it was a cool chill modern restaurant. The sides that we ordered definitely were interesting, they were not the usual sides that we would order at other Korean barbecue places. Their potato thing is incredibly nasty so do not order that. Their chicken wings were actually pretty good a little bit on the crunchy side. We ordered the Bulgogi spicy, we ordered the different types of bacon, we had the salad, which was pretty good, we ordered the Soju with a couple of beers, which were good. The server was fast, the food came out fast, the drinks were a little late, but that's OK. But I like is that our server came by and made sure that we did not want to order anything else or if we did, he was really nice really knowledgeable and really great at changing our grill as well. Will I come back to this place? Probably not. I'll probably go somewhere where the food is a little bit more authentic and the marinades are better off. read more

I rarely leave one-star reviews, but our experience at Daikon Korean BBQ was extremely disappointing. We had a party of 10 and called ahead to ensure we could be seated. We were told that the last seating was at 9:15 p.m., so we arrived accordingly. Our server, Kirstin S, provided poor service and was largely inattentive throughout the meal. One of the first items we ordered was the egg soufflé and kimchi soup. After waiting quite a while, we asked about it multiple times and were repeatedly told it was "on its way." Unfortunately, it never arrived. When we brought it up at the end of the meal, Kirstin S, insisted that the egg soufflé had already been served, even though no one at our table had received it. It was frustrating to be told we were mistaken rather than having the issue acknowledged. We then spoke with the manager, Valerie, hoping to find a reasonable resolution. We understood that the kitchen was closing and the dish could no longer be prepared, but the only compensation offered was a $20 credit. More disappointing than the credit itself was the lack of accountability and genuine concern for our experience. The biggest issue wasn't the missing egg soufflé--it was the overall lack of communication, attentiveness, and customer service. For a large party, we expected better coordination and follow-through. Based on this experience, I would not bring my family back or recommend this restaurant for larger groups. Food was good, just had to remind our waiter a few times on some items that haven't been delivered. But overall, the food was good. One thing I wish is that they had a tablet or app where we can just desirably put in our next order. I had a great experience here. I came on a Friday afternoon with 5 friends and it wasn't too busy. The entrance is super inviting and when you see the grills and seating area, you know you're going to have a good time with your group. The staff was friendly and engaging with us. Offered to let us spin the prize wheel so we could get extra items during our experience. The wait time was nonexistent, and they were able to bring everything we ordered out so quickly. They have a vast selection of items to choose from (sushi, noodles, appetizers, different meat cuts). Sometimes I wish we could give fractions of stars so that we could round up or round down to help provide and provide a little more accurate rating. Since I cannot do that, they're gonna get a one star, but I aim to be very purposeful with that one star. The concept of all you can eat is great. Love the food that I cook myself in their facility. Unfortunately it all hinges on the food being brought out to me. There is very often a delay in the food being brought out and items that are often forgotten and require multiple request to have them brought out. Again this rating is not based on anyway visit but 3 separate occasions spread out over time with different servers and in different parts of the restaurant. It often feels that I have to fight for my waiter's attention. Maybe they are always short staffed. Good food, but ok service. Nice looking restaurant with lots of big booths to sit at for kbbq. Floors were kind of sticky though. As a group of 4, we were only allowed to order 4 meats and two sides per round. This was less than other places and the amount of meat they brought out per order was different each time despite re-ordering the same items. Staff was great with changing the grill but not with ordering more meats and sides. Waiter did not check on us and was hard to get a hold of. Waiter was nice but we ran out of water and weren't able to reorder for a while. We had to ask another waiter to order. Meat quality was good and the sesame balls were great. Consistently my #1 favorite KBBQ spot in the area! Regardless of when I go - weekday lunch (where's it's cheaper Mon-Thurs) or on a weekend dinner, service is consistent, fast, and attentive. I've had parties here with groups of more than 6 regularly. There's plenty of options, and I go for the cheaper options and it's still worth it. There's also a sushi menu. Highly recommend the corn cheese, lemon pepper wings, sesame balls, and pork jowl. They regularly ask if you want grill changes, refill drinks, and are quick to help. WARNING: check your receipt before you add any tip! They already added tip prior though we only had 2 adults, but they charged an automatic tip! I would have never noticed until my friend said something! I was looking at the tip options from the screen on their payment system and I was so confused as to you why there were only options for "1, 2, 3%" for example. In my head I'm like is is missing a zero after these single numbers? Then my friend looked at the printed receipt they left on the table and it was already pre tipped! We were not even notified nor did our server even say anything until my friend ended up bring it up and our server then says "oh they may have added tip." So my friend confronted the manager (our who ever was in charge that day) and she didn't give a good reason as to why we were pre tipped when it clearly says for a party of 6 on the receipt, which we were not! We were told that the tip does get split amongst the the staff. Would have gave them higher stars if they didn't already pre tip our table since the KBBQ was better than other AYCE spots in NorCal. Tip culture is too crazy nowadays. I'm usually a high tipper to support servers getting what they deserve as it's known they may not always get fair wages, but on my terms and not a made up reason and tricking us to tip more! Since our server was decent at serving us (though she didn't tell us we were pre tipped), we did end up giving extra in cash so that extra tip it doesn't get split, but still upsetting that this happened without warning. What is also upsetting is I assume this spot is the same owner as the one in Sac (Natomas), Minnie, and I have followed her journey and supported every restaurant she's ever owned since her beginnings. If she does own this location, staff needs to be retrained and things should have been explained in the beginning or correct the fact that we were only 2 adults and being charged automatic gratuity is crazy when it clearly says for party of 6 on their menu and receipt. Besides this tip fiasco, the food was actually pretty good, tasty and meat was good quality. Side dishes were very flavorful and they also have sushi as well, which we didn't get. Price as fair for the quality that you get and worth it despite the tip issue. As for the service, though it was very busy night, we didn't wait too long to get our food each time we put an order and our server was attentive (thus why we gave extra cash on the side). As a repeat customer, I learned the hard way today, 2/13/2026 at 11:32 am after they opened at 11:30 am. I arrived 30 minutes early (1st car in thr parking lot and) and stood at the door at door 5-minutes early to be the first one served. I was starving and craving for Daikon KBBQ. Put my name on the waitlist because they weren't quite ready. Went to the restroom to wash my hands. I was approached by an employee telling me they have a policy that they don't serve party of one during the weekend because of the volume of busyness on the weekend. First and foremost...shoutout to server Ben. I've come here multiple times, but he has been the best so far. I know how to cook, but he gave tips on the best way to grill certain cuts that we aren't familiar with. Employees were attentive for the first couple of rounds, but after that, the service got super slow, and I'm not sure if it's because it's close to closing or what. The meats were well seasoned and OK to my liking, and I just wish they had more seafood options. A little bit disappointing was when my Dad was trying to go to the restroom before we left, and he was told that they're "already closed" and he can't use it anymore. There were still a few more customers inside, and my parents live 25 minutes away from here, and for the restroom to be "closed" is absurd. Love this place it's one of our go to local date night spots! Make sure you come with an appetite as it is all you can eat. This time we got the Premium Ayce which has some pretty great options. Banchan is always brought out to your table to enjoy with your meal. For appetizers we love the fried dumplings and salt and pepper chicken wings, both are nice and crispy. For proteins we opted for all beef this time and chose the bulgogi, short rib, Hawaiian marinated steak, and the brisket. The brisket is pretty plain and needs a dipping sauce. For dipping sauce they offer sesame oil/salt, Sriracha, soy sauce, and Sambal. All are great just depends what you're in the mood for. The meat is brought out to your table which you cook yourself to your own liking with the grill in the middle. For dessert definitely get the sesame balls. They also offer a wide selection of cocktails. We always receive great service here and the wait time has not been bad at all each time we have visited. I visited Daikon just yesterday , and while the ambiance and staff were okay, the overall food experience was disappointing. The cuts of meat were of poor quality, and the grill heated up unevenly --but the rest stayed cold, causing the meat to burn easily. We came on my birthday, which happened to be a Friday evening around 5:30pm. It was only a 15 minute wait with no reservations. After our two hour seating, it was pretty packed. Hubs and I went to Daikon on a little date night since I was in the mood for steak and I must say that we were pleasantly surprised with the amazing food, friendly service, and comfortable dining experience. The music was lively and they really upgraded the interiors since it being Black Angus. The veggies were fresh, and all the proteins we ordered were delicious, especially the garlic butter prawns, beef belly, and ribeye. Has a pretty good price point for the amount of food you get also. It was my first time trying this place and it was so delicious! We came at a very busy time almost 8 pm and had to wait around 40-50 minutes. Clearly after dining in and trying their food, I understood why and the wait was worth it. You order any and all types of meat that you want and you cook it yourself exactly the way you want to. Sometimes the service can be bad, but my most recent visit made me want to write a review for this place! I think the server's name was Keelan? He was great!! Attentive, fast, and even refilled two of my favorite banchans for me without asking (ily). My bf and I were never left with hangrily waiting and wanting anything from him. Really, 5/5 service, thank you Keelan (I hope I got your name right). Our go to orders: *Pork Belly - First thing to cook so it coats and flavors the cooking pan so our meat doesnt get stuck to it. *Brisket - A must. *Boneless Short Ribs - Always had beautiful marbling, easy to eat, tender. *LA Galbi - A must. *Japchae - Some days it's really flavorful, others it's a dry. The most recent experience was super flavorful! *Garlic and jalapenos side - we love garlic, raw and cooked. They give you a nice portion here! And the jalapenos were so spicy -- absolutely delicious lol. *Fried dumplings - does the trick when you want something fast to eat first while waiting for things to cook - doesn't come with a dipping sauce, but nbd. *Salt and Pepper Wings - 3pcs, flavorful. *Lemon Pepper WIngs - 3pcs, also flavorful. I heard the lines can be up to 2 hours or more so we arrived at 5 PM. The wait was less than five minutes. The restaurant only takes reservations for 8 or more persons. It's a first come first serve. To avoid long wait times, I suggest going before 12 pm or before 4-6 PM. I went on a Saturday. By 6 PM the restaurant was half filled and by 6:30 PM, there was a waiting line. Our Server was quick and accurate with our order. Some of the dishes came within five minutes and tables were frequently cleared of dirty dishes. It was clockwork - staff was efficient - each person knew exactly what their job was and completed it with courtesy and professionalism. To gain a good experience, you need to know your cuts of meats - some parts of the animal are tougher than others. The cut of meat you choose will determine your dining experience. If you don't know, ask your server. Non marinated meats are good with all the side dishes given to you. Marinated meats are good to eat with rice, lettuce, rice paper and noodles. The only drawback is the women's toilet stalls. They are so tiny and small that I can hardly squeeze myself into the stall without bumping my knee - clearance from stall door to toilet bowl is probably 12 inches or less. read more

After waiting 40 minutes we still haven't been seated and hostess said that they're getting our table ready when it doesn't make sense that more than half of the tables are opened and we're still not seated and so many customers that came in after us are being seated. We loved and supported Daikon since day 1. We were even coming almost every other week. It gives my husband and I a break from having to cook at home with a busy household, having two kids under 2. However, we were disappointed during our last visit. We went to celebrate my mom and dad's wedding anniversary. 4 adults, 1 2-year old and my 4 month old in a stroller. Our server was very efficient and attentive, no complaints there. When we got the check and paid, I noticed they charged us for "party of 6". Approached our server and said it was her manager's idea to add it on. It was never mentioned to us before paying, good thing I looked after getting my receipt. Spoke with the manager, he was nice enough to talk to us but he couldnt justify why he had to charge us for party of 6. On the menu, it says something like "all seated individuals are charged". I get my 2 year old is seated in a high chair. But my 4 month old is in her stroller, so how is she counted? All the manager could tell us was they are making changes to the policy, it's also written on the menu (yeah but my 4 month old is not seated), and so we dont have to worry about gratuity (I also paid a good amount of tip). The manager was kind enough to refund us the extra charge, he said he'll do it just this time. He was still missing the point but I didn't want to argue any further. My brother calls me and asks, "I'm taking Mom out, want to come?" Sure! He wanted to try the new Korean BBQ spot in Vallejo called Daikon Korean. For those familiar with Vallejo, you know the options are pretty limited. Daikon took over the old Black Angus location--if anyone remembers that spot. The décor is modern, but you can still see traces of the old Black Angus layout. Not a big deal, just an observation. There are two choices: the Premium AYCE or the standard AYCE. The server was great--she was handling a lot on her own, but she was on point. When it comes to all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ, it's hard to compare with other spots, but you can usually tell by the quality of the meats. For Vallejo, I'd say it's a solid addition. Overall a good experience save for a minor hiccup. (Front Desk) Service 3/5 Could be better. When I joined the waitlist, the host told me it would be a 45 minute wait. So I decided to run some errands at Costco to pass time. Less than 5 minutes later, when I hadn't even parked in the Costco lot yet, I received a call that the table was ready. The call dropped so I headed back immediately after that. Once I came back to claim my seat, the host told me in an inconvenienced manner that she had removed me from the waitlist because called my name multiple times and even called my phone. However she was able to squeeze us back in. That left a sour feeling because I was told it would be a much longer wait and couldn't do anything about the phone call dropping. Long story short, they should have given me a more accurate wait time and their waitlist system should be better--we should have a 10 minute window to claim our table in the case that we're not on the premises. Food: 5/5 That aside, everything else after that went smoothly. We were seated and the server took our orders right away. For the meats, we tried the garlic soy pork belly, Hawaiian marinated steak, brisket, and pork bulgogi--my favorite was the garlic soy. For the apps/sides we got cheese corn, dumplings, onion, fish cake, lettuce wrap, and mushrooms. I wanted rice paper with my proteins but they were out so I was a bit bummed. Everything hit the spot. Our server was very quick to put in and bring out orders as well as remove any empty plates from our table. Ambience was moderate and the inside was spacious and tidy with ample seating. The AYCE (All You Can Eat) menu is pretty extensive. In fact, it's almost confusing. But with a little practice... yes, I plan to come back and become a pro at odering. Great selection of starters, mains, and add-ons. From crispy calamari (which to my mind was just a bit too crispy) to pork, steak, and seafood selections, you really can't go wrong. Because it was Friday, the lunch menu wasn't available - Fri/Sat/Sun require the weekend (dinner) menu. All good. We got to choose sushi rolls and sashimi to accompany our already full table. Ben was a great server. Patient and friendly. It's quiet. I have a feeling that even when it's bustling, it's not all that noisy. So, yeah, I'll be back. I was craving sushi and fries.. getting the supreme option at Daikon gave me my sushi, fries and much more! Enjoyed my food. Got a couple of drinks, one drink tasted just like juice though. The place was packed and I'm glad I used Yelp waitlist prior to arriving. Our server was nice, but he was super busy and I feel that there were many times we needed to try to grab him as he rushed by and even had to remind him about things. Our table and floor was pretty clean when we arrived. I would definitely go back for my sushi and Korean bbq feels. read more
