Getting married in Florida while living in New York City, I was apprehensive about organising from such distance. Janet made sure that everything was a breeze! From the start, Janet eased all my concerns. She took the time to work with my schedule in regards to doing a trial run the month before my wedding and planning out my wedding day timeline. I was worried that things wouldn't work out as I had planned to do a photoshoot in Epcot the morning of my wedding, but once again Janet put all my worries at rest. Janet is an expert at early morning shoots with Disney! Janet and I spoke via email/phone so that the day of the trial run I'd be prepared for makeup/hair ideas. During the trial run, Janet took the time to make sure that I loved my look, this went a long way to ease my fears- especially because I hardly ever wear make-up day to day. After, Janet took photos of every angle and what makeup was used so that the day of we'd be able to breeze through. Day of the wedding, Janet came to our hotel at the Riviera at 4am to get started so that I'd be ready to go by 7 for the photo shoot. Janet did my makeup wonderfully while we chatted. Janet was able to also help with my hair piece and even offered to help me with my dress if needed. She arrived as expected and quickly got to work. It was supposed to be hair and make-up for me, hair for sister and make-up for my niece. But things changed when Emma (the 6 year niece) commented how excited she was, and how she couldn't wait to get her hair done like her aunt and mom. Janet heard her ... asked Kelly if it was ok and then started to work on Emma's hair. When asked about her schedule and if this would make her late to her next appointment, she replied "that was ok, I need to do her hair." She made Emma feel like a princess. And my hair/make-up was just what I wanted. She made us all feel like queens and princesses. Two mornings later I got to go through the process again, when we got up even early for our wedding portraits (in the Magic Kingdom, in front, in and behind the castle). She has done my hair before which came out good hence why I went back for braids this time. But the first time and only time I went to her I got a sew in (NOT BRAIDS). She tells me the last time she did my hair I got braids.... She said that I expressed to her " they were too tight and needed to be taken down". (WHICH WAS NOT TRUE) Therefore this time around she told me she did not feel comfortable doing my braids. I then explain to her that she's only done my hair once and it was a sew in. I never had braids done by her. And I never would ask for my hair to be taken down or out because I am not tender headed at all. Even if I was it's just not something I would say. I even showed her a picture of the hairstyle that she did on me a couple years ago. She then look's me in my face and said that wasn't her that did it....and she feels uncomfortable braiding my hair. Because she braids too tight. But like I said I never got braids done by her. I have got braids done for many years By different people. Never had to deal with someone refusing to do my hair. She is the only person I've seen working there and for me to be lied to when I had proof was mind blowing. All I wanted was 2 braids but she refused to do my hair. I am a little upset cause I feel that she just didn't want to do it cause of how I looked. But it is what it is. Nothing I can do now. But... I paid over $400 for a balayage and haircut after a consultation where we agreed on a beige balayage and a trim with long layers. Instead, I left with hair that was orange, uneven in tone, and much shorter than expected. I specifically requested a trim and to maintain length with a U-shape. Not only did I lose significantly more length than expected, but when I returned for the correction appointment, my hair had to be recut because it was uneven. $125 for a haircut keep in mind. The color was never what we agreed on. I was left with obvious warm/orange pieces and was told we would need to lighten my hair again to get closer to the beige result that was discussed from the beginning. Even after the second lightening service, the result was still not what I asked for. I now have significant breakage in my bangs and front pieces that did not exist before this service. I had intentionally spent a long time growing my hair out and avoiding additional bleach, and now I'm dealing with damage that will take a long time to grow out. Months, even up to 12months! After I reached out with concerns and provided multiple photos, I received a voicemail indicating she was willing reimburse me. However, when I followed up, no refund was provided. Instead, I felt like my concerns were dismissed. At one point Patricia even suggested that my photos were not true. I ultimately had to seek a color correction elsewhere at additional cost and am now hundreds of dollars deeper into fixing a situation that should never have happened in the first place. The color correction alone was $275. Between the original service, corrective work, and the damage to my hair, this has been one of the most disappointing salon experiences I've ever had.
