~Best Day Spa in NJ~…read more No other spa in the Tri-State offers the services, amenities, hospitality, and atmosphere that BRC Day Spa does. Highly recommend if you enjoy or want to try a true Russian banya experience. This spa is absolutely beautiful, extremely clean, the vibes are friendly, very relaxed. I am in love with this place, and plan to come on a regular basis! It's really that awesome! The service and hospitality are wonderful. Upon arrival, you will check in at the front desk. If you have forgotten your swimsuit, robe, slippers for the pool. BRC spa has men's swim shorts to rent and female suits for purchase to whomever may need one. Which is an excellent service. Love that they have slippers for the entire spa experience. Really appreciate, towels and slippers are provided with the admission cost. Robes can be rented from the front desk for customer convenience, if you don't want to bring your own. I prefer to rent theirs, the robes are very nice. Admission grants access to the facility's aroma, wet, and dry saunas, steam room, ice cold plunge, lap pool, jacuzzi, relaxation room, and the mud/scrub room. WiFi is free and available throughout the entire spa. The spa features a lovely cafe that prepares healthy meals, fruit bowls, that has a bar wherein alcoholic beverages can be ordered. The spa has other amazing add on's that are extra which include cryotherapy, salt room, float pod, massage therapy, and a VIP room. Highly recommend cryotherapy if you have any inflammation in your body. Cryotherapy is a game changer. Excited to try the float pod, cryotherapy, infrared sauna,on my next visit. As well as the salt room eventually. My overall favorite feature of the spa was the ice cold plunge. It was truly an amazing experience, that gave me immediate benefits. Never thought I could ever do an ice cold plunge especially when the weather outside is already very frigid. Thanks to other members sharing their experience. I built up the courage to the plunge. It was an awesome, euphoric, pain relieving experience. I will be taking the ice cold plunge or ice baths on a daily or weekly basis for the amazing health benefits. My other favorites were the regulars that visit the spa frequently. They were absolutely the best, and I enjoyed each and every patron I encountered. This place is pure positive bliss. When I left this spa all of my body aches, muscle tension, chronic pain, and stress were gone. If you fly into Teterboro, visit Meadowlands, the NJ/NYC area, this is THE BEST SPA IN THE TRI STATE! Thank me later...

Last I checked the tips in NJ is voluntary and: are considered voluntary gifts for service. While some restaurants implement automatic gratuity (often around 18%) that must be disclosed under the Consumer Fraud Act, you are not legally required to pay a tip, especially for poor service. None of the menus at the SPA restaurant or bar said they are charging the tip. No disclosure. Not even on the receipt when you pay. I asked to the take of my bill the tip but the receptionist said it is not possible and everyone HAS to pay the tip. Reporting it to the Federal Trade Commission.

Melissa is wonderful, and the entire experience at Serene is absolutely perfect, starting from the moment you walk in the door. Serene is an organic spa, which is NOT easy to find in Bergen County, although spas are a dime a dozen. Knowing that natural products are going to be put on your body was a huge selling point for me, and I could not be happier with my experiences at Serene. Entering Serene is like entering a really chic boho type boutique. There are items for sale ranging from skincare products, to bags, clothing and jewelry, most (if not all) made by women around the US, which I love. It truly is a peaceful way to begin the spa experience - or find a unique gift to pick up for someone. I've now gone twice for a facial, and both times have not booked a specific type of facial, I've asked Melissa for whatever she thinks will work best for my skin. She delivers beyond anything I could choose off the menu and is so knowledgeable about exactly what your skin needs to look the best it possibly can. Melissa explains what she's putting on your face at each step of the process, what the product itself is made of, and what it will help with in regards to your skin. Other than that, this is not a spa experience where you have someone who is constantly talking to you - Melissa works her magic and allows you to lay back and completely and totally relax. She is incredibly diligent with the extraction part of the facial as well, and even after my first facial with her, I noticed a huge difference in my skin that has now stuck over the months (it's even better following a second session, and I truly believe will just continue to improve). My facials have consisted of fruit peels (I believe a berry peel and then a grape peel at my most recent session), which smell delicious and WORK, though without the redness of a chemical peel that lasts for days following. The peels I have gotten are $85/session, and worth every single penny. There are other more basic facials as well that are a bit lower in price. Another thing I love about Serene is that there is no pushing of products on you - I always ask for recommendations on what I can buy to continue working on skin health, and Melissa is happy to make recommendations, but she also gives samples versus encouraging you to buy a full-sized product right off the bat. I did buy a softening chocolate mask that smells delicious (literally like chocolate) and works wonders ($20, and I've had it for 3 months at this point, with a ton stil left!). I will continue to frequent Serene because the experience is so peaceful, Melissa is so wonderful and personable, and I leave with a noticeable difference in my skin. Can't wait for my next session!

Ridgewood European Day Spa - 1 Star…read more I scheduled a 1 PM appointment and was running approximately 4 minutes late when I received a phone call from the spa. I was told that because I was "5 minutes late," they would be deducting time from my treatment. Already off to a rocky start, I arrived and was brought to the treatment room where the therapist immediately peppered me with questions and asked what I wanted. When I told her, she responded with "you only have about 20 minutes." I checked my watch -- there was still a full 45 minutes remaining in my session. So where exactly did that time go? To make matters worse, when I finished and was sitting in the waiting area waiting for my Uber, another client walked in and apologized for being late. The receptionist's response? "Don't worry honey, we'll take care of you." No phone call. No time deducted. No problem. The double standard here is impossible to ignore. Arrive 4 minutes early? You're penalized and rushed through a session someone clearly couldn't time correctly. Arrive late as someone else? Warmly welcomed with zero consequences. I'm not sure if the issue is with timekeeping, mathematics, or just selective customer service -- but either way, it's completely unacceptable. Save your money and find a spa that treats all of its customers with the same courtesy and respect.

Our choices were staying in the city and going to one of the other Korean Spas or check out this heavy influencer/IA one -- we decided to try this one since it was conveniently outside of the city, but not far. Parking is annoying but not hard. They do have valet, but that area was a bit congested to get in and out. It was a bit pricey just for admission, but I guess it could be worse. The facility is beautiful. I just hate how overcrowded it was. We could barely find a spot in the pool. When we did, we decided not to leave for a while from that one spot. The pool with the view of the construction across the street and then the water was beautiful. Just really have to ignore the construction site, but where else you going to get a pretty view of the NYC skyline, wading in a pool on some upper floor? When we had our fill, we went to check out the other sections. The outdoor garden pool area was cool. I liked the different types of heated water and the nice waterfall. Still crowded. Went upstairs to the different saunas - they were really nice! My favorite was the K-body scrub. For 30 minutes, it was $75, which was totally worth it! All other places I've been to, made you do it for an hour with all this other foo-foo stuff and I loved that this K-body scrub was just a K-body scrub! Oh the feel of cleanliness! The food court area had really good food! Although overcrowded, it was well organized and thought out with how they serviced. (I've been to worse spas). We went to the quiet area to catch a nap before our 4 hour drive. People do NOT know how to be quiet in a quiet area and they had attendants shushing people but that didn't really do much. There was a cool Japanese sand experience that you can see from the food court window, watching all these people get buried under the black sand for treatment. Maybe I would try on a future visit. The infinity pool on the rooftop was beautiful. But once again crowded with people who were trying to get a break from the city. Young people who wanted a social place to eat, drink, hang out and get a tan while wading in the pool with the beautiful skyline of NYC. Yes, I would definitely go back even though it was so crowded. It was a great experience. I would have given 5 stars if not for how annoyed I was with people. I really enjoyed the esthetics of the place, the food, and the bath house inside with the hot tub and cold plunge. My favorite is still the K-body scrub. If I'm in that area again, I would definitely give it another go.
