Really disappointed in the veggie burgers here... Morningstar's are better, honestly. The toppings are decent -- particularly the caramelized onions -- but the whole thing is sort of a greasy disintegrated mess by the time you're halfway through, and not in a good way. Also, the fries are mediocre and the "salad" is a box of lettuce. If you're in this strip of restaurants in Hyattsville, go down a few doors to Spice 6 instead! A million times better. read more

I absolutely adore Elevation Burger--specifically the Hyattsville, MD location. I LOVE their veggie burger #2. It's the vegan burger and it's absolutely delicious! I LOVE that I can order my burger w/o bread and have it wrapped (and even double wrapped) with lettuce. I absolutely LOVE their delicious fries which are cooked in olive oil. This is such a cozie and friendly place to go and grab a healthy meal! My husband loves their Elevation Burger, which is made of 100% organic, 100% grass-fed and 100% free-range beef. I'm super impressed! If my husband is going to eat meat, I feel better about him eating quality meat (that hasn't been shot up with a bunch of hormones and whatever else or fed a mysterious diet). I love that my meal is brought to my table and that the staff is so friendly! Each visit, I feel welcomed and right at home. I also like that the eating area is always clean and monitored by a staff member that will ask if he/she can take an empty tray from your table or if you need water, condiments or anything else. Great customer service. Lastly, I really like the frequent visitor card! Every time you order any burger, your card get's a hole punched in it. When you reach 7 holes....you get a FREE burger! YES!! I'm really surprised this place has better reviews than Bobbys burger palace. Burgers are held by two greasy cold buns. Very flimsy greasy meats. Variety of toppings are the only saving grace. Fries are disgustingly greasy, thin, often cold and tasteless. Customer service at this particular location is complete crap. I've had many sub par experiences and one extremely unprofessional terrible experience that was enough to drive my family and I away for good. (Placed an order for delivery bc it allowed it online, they took my money and order, never called, never answered the phone, I went up there to see what happened and my food had been sitting there cold for an hour and a half while employees ignored calls...wtf? They didn't even offer an apology, to warm the food, make a new order, refund money, comp future meal, nothing!) All that to say - hell no to elevation burger, especially this location. I really don't get the hype even if they did have redeeming customer service I can't see me paying for greasy cold tasteless slop. read more

We live around the corner, so have gone about half a dozen times in the couple weeks they've been open. The place is consistently busy, but never feel like there's an excessive wait. Burgers & fries both feel less greasy than Five Guys. Maybe its just in my head, but with it being grass fed/organic it feels healthier. The Cheddar is a definite upgrade from the usual American. We have a few vegetarian friends, so glad we can take them someplace that has not one but TWO veggie burger options (honestly they were amazed there was more than one option thrown at them, they seem to struggle with the idea of having a choice). Shakes are okay -- and like that they have a few topping options at no extra charge -- but would say burgers are definitely stronger. Staff is very nice & energetic -- it may just be the "yay we just opened" excitement, so hopefully they can keep it up. read more

Good burgers here! I had been meaning to try Elevation Burger for quite a while, largely because I wanted to get a ten patty monster of a sandwich, but I never made it over to NoVA. Now that there's one near College Park it's a lot easier to get a good burger fix that isn't Five Guys! This is probably the closest thing to In-n-Out that we have in the DC area. For one, it's the same style of burgers (thin patties). They serve milkshakes. You can order multiple patties on your burger (the limit is ten). About the only thing missing is animal style. I ordered an Elevation Burger which is two patties with cheese, and got caramelized onions and Elevation Sauce (basically secret sauce) on top of it. The meat was cooked well, with slight charring that was not overpowering at all. The bun was sturdy, and it needed to be; the amount of grease that dripped out of the wrapping could lubricate all the moving parts in an aircraft carrier. The fries are cooked in olive oil which imparts a slight flavor on them that you may or may not like. Olive oil also doesn't reach as high a temperature as other oils and so the fries are not very crispy. However, for their style (shoestring) they were passable. I've definitely had better ones but these will do. I did not try the milkshakes but they sure sounded good. One disappointment was that despite all their boasting about their grass-fed organic beef and olive oil and what not, they had no sodas like Boylans available. Darn. read more

I think the milkshake uses low fat milk or something because it has a weird taste to it but other than that I love it. It's an up and coming franchise and I think it's a great idea. Their meat is from hormone-free cows and that's cool to a lot of folks. I've only had the veggie options so I'm not sure how great the hamburgers are. I can't enough Elevation Burger. It's a nearly guilt free way to enjoy one of the foods I love most. As I'm sure you've read, grass-fed, organic, free range beef, with local and organic ingredients for topping and sides. They give you a caloric break down of everything on the menu. Recently, they've added organic bacon and mushrooms to the menu. If you're on the paleo diet, or other low/no carb diet, worry not. You can order you burger wrapped in lettuce and not sacrifice any flavor! They are also known for their french fries which are hand cut and fried in olive oil. They have a large selection of organic sodas and juices. The best part about Elevation burger is that you don't feel like you've eaten a brick when you're finished. I'm very particular about the food I put into my body, and I take extreme comfort in the fact that there is a place serving good ol' American burgers that I can feel good about eating. From grass-fed beef to fries fried in 100% olive oil, this place knows how to get to this girl's heart. My friend, who has a lot of serious food allergies, and I come here all the time since it is one of the only places he can eat and know that he will not get sick from cross-contamination or a slip up in ingredients. Out of convenience, I've been here twice and was surprised by how much they charged for a pretty average burger and fries (about 11$ for just a burger and fries - no drink). Further, I don't like being nickled and dimed for burger toppings. 1.20$ for cheese? No thanks. I'm not a fan of 5 guys, but you can get the same thing for half the price there. I quickly made up an excuse and made a beeline across the street to try this burger. Let me first say that the place was clean and the employees were friendly. I also like the sustainable philosophy of this company. Now for the rating of the food....after all the build up and sneaking out of another establishment to try the food here all I'm left with is disappointment for my review. This visit was a rollercoaster. When we walked in, we were confused as to how ordering worked as this was our first time. The girl at the register had an attitude and the two women working in the kitchen kept staring at us as if there was a problem. We ordered 3 milkshakes and four burgers. When we received our milkshakes they tasted like watered down milk and none of us could taste the flavour that we ordered (strawberry and oreo). We went back and asked for a refund and was told to get a refund we had to call a different company so we asked if we could get a burger and fries as the total would equal the milkshakes. During this wait, we checked our original burgers and our burgers were PLAIN despite us paying for toppings. When we brought this up, they attempted to take the burgers we had and just add toppings to them which was very unsanitary. At this point, considering COVID-19 and the terrible customer service, I won't be returning. And the burgers weren't even that good. One burger was even undercooked. read more

Ever have that yearning for burger? I mean a REAL urge for one. After the sticker shock of the price, sat down in the spacious dining area. Usually I enjoy jazz (real jazz, not smooth jazz) while I eat, but this time I listened to a podcast. As soon as I got comfortable, poof! There was my burger. But ummmm....no fries. No fries? If I ordered the 2 together, why I would i want them served separately? I don't know how that happened, but is never again no no in my book. My burger was good and juicy but not terribly flavorful. The fries were fine but a bit skimpy on the portion. Good for the 'burbs, average for the city. I live close by so Elevation Burger is on my short list when I have a craving for a hamburger and fries (heck with McDonalds down the street!). My opinion is pretty much the same every time I have gone. The burgers are okay but they're not amazing. The fries are good but they are often soggy and sometimes have the wrong toppings (one I time they didn't even put them on). Everything is freshly made but it's not exactly lighting speed. Employees are kind but not oozing with enthusiasm to greet you and have you dine there. The prices are a bit high for the quality but it's not as bad as DC. Overall, everything is middle ground. I haven't had a burger that I have despised but I haven't had one that made me think "wow, I'm going to stop grilling out and come here instead". I'll continue to go there when I am too lazy to get hamburger meat from the grocery store. I wish it were a place that was a treat to visit but at least it does the job. It's odd to me that Elevation Burger doesn't go out of its way to serve great burgers and quick food because there are several "fast food" or quick places around it and Bobby's Burger Palace is up the street. I went there on a whim one Saturday afternoon about 2 weeks ago in search of something different in the neighborhood. I remembered this place was open & stopped in. The young lady that took my order was very friendly & seemed as excited as I was about winning free fries! I ordered a single patty cheeseburger with caramelized onions, lettuce, tomatoes & elevation sauce. She asked if I wanted fries and after some hesitation, I said no. She told me I could flip the coin to win free fries. I did & I won fries! They called my name & brought my order to the table. The cheeseburger reminded me of old school Wendy's burgers. The elevation sauce made it even better. The fries were nice & cripsy outside though I regret putting ketchup on them, they were bvetter off wihtout them. I will definitely be going back soon especially since I have a free burger to earn with my Club 7 Card! My only complaint was that the young lady that was cleaning up swept around my table while I was eating. It's just a pet peeve of mine. read more

I am a fan of this location. My wife and I went here earlier this afternoon. The food was ok. I can see why someone would say that the food is greasy, but wasn't overly greasy or bad. It's fast food and it's just ok. What I love about this place is the team members. They all seem genuinely interested and go out their way to assist you. The burgers are solid, not too big (though I had the double). The same holds true for the fries, lightly salted, nice hot and crunchy: very good overall. However, this is not BGR or Ray's Hellburger, more like a high quality ingredients McDonalds with better sauces - for example the balsamic vinegar mustard. Arguably a good decision, positioning themselves below these two but above chains such as Five Guys (too greasy). Elevation Burger is one of my favorite place to eat in Hyattsville! It's in a cute little area in the Arts district across from Busboys and Poets. The beef is 100% grass fed which means no yucky hormones etc. You walk away from this place NOT feeling like you got punched in the gut as you might with another popular place with the same concept (I won't name names on here). You go up to the counter and specify what kind of burger you want (I am a fan of the "elevation burger") and then all the toppings you like, they even have organic bacon that is really tasty and cheese that tastes like it could be cut right off the block. They even have the option to get the lettuce wrapped, which I love because I am not into carbs much. They also have delicious fries that are made in olive oil which I had never heard of before, but I now know the glory of the olive oil fry! The service is super quick as well. I have never had a disappointing experience here, in fact my husband and I come here most Saturdays for lunch! It's a little expensive for just a quick burger, but totally worth it to me (about $24 for two people). read more

Elevation Burger is the grass-fed, free-range version of Five Guys. Like Five Guys, they have burgers and grilled cheese sandwiches, except theirs are made with organic beef and aged cheddar. Unlike Five Guys, they have two types of veggie burgers, as well. The food was tasty! I regret not trying their shakes, because I bet they are really good, too! My problem with Elevation isn't the food; it's the lack of originality. The restaurant was founded almost 20 years after Five Guys in the same area (Washington DC). It feels like the founder went to Five Guys, wished it was organic, and then opened his slightly altered version of the place. I don't know -- I just can't get really excited about the restaurant for that reason. read more

The patty was a bit hard to taste, since I got the "elevation sauce" (seemed like a tangy thousand island, a bit out of McDonald's book) and they were quite generous with it. The price is pretty good for the type of beef. I think the double patty double cheese would be a bit too much. The bun was quite disappointing, though, and a real missed opportunity. It was a soft, somewhat tasteless bread that just seemed tacked on, with everything else happening. They could at least toast it like Five Guy's. Roommate didn't like the fries, but I didn't try them. Verdict? That 13 dollars also got me a side of fries and a medium fountain drink. While the burger WAS delicious, I can't hardly begin to justify that price for a fast food joint, unless it's absolutely top notch, which Elevation Burger isn't. The fries were rather lackluster, and a fountain drink is just standard fare. The good tasting burger can only get you so far.
