Pennyroyal Station is such a gem. Went for dinner mid February around 7pm. The vibe is quaint, peaceful, and incredibly welcoming every time I visit. The service was attentive and kind, and I really appreciated the thoughtful recommendations. Our food was absolutely delicious, I had the crab cake with the potato wedges and the overall experience was a great time. I truly enjoy coming here -- it never disappoints!

We arrived before our 7p reservation to enjoy a cocktail at happy hour. Our fabulous bartender, Chris, took such good care of us that we decided to sit bar side for the rest of our meal. He is a master mixologist and his concoctions looked as delicious as they tasted. The deviled eggs are ridiculously good and different than the last time we were here. Love that the menu is updated and can't wait to return the next time we are in town from Chicago. Chef's kiss!

This little joint is well worth the stop in. My sister and I randomly stopped by and wish we would have done so sooner. Our server was very nice but the rest of the staff seemed a little flustered. Maybe it was just a busy night, I don't know. Either way, the food was super yummy and the environment was quite pleasant. We will definitely try to stop in again! (Sorry for the lack of photos, we were so hungry we devoured it!)

While everything looked great, the taste was just not there.

Came here for an early dinner on a Saturday. We didn't have a reservation but they were able to accommodate us and our two small pups in the patio for which I was very grateful. Enjoyed the outside seating but the service was a bit slow. Where this place missed the mark was on the food. We had a few items to share: fried green tomatoes were ok, Mac and cheese was bland, crab dip was basically inedible and finally the pork sliders left a lot to be desired. I don't think I'll be returning here which is disappointing because the restaurant itself is very cute.

Visited today for brunch. It's been a few years since coming to this restaurant & it did not disappoint. I enjoyed my food and the space is cute! Our waitress was great & the hostess was friendly. Look forward to trying the dinner menu.

Yummy yum yum yum yumers! I had the absolute pleasure of enjoying brunch at "PennyRoyal Station" today with some friends, and wow--everything was incredible! Three of us went for the pancakes with chicken, one got the short ribs with a side of grits, and another had shrimp and grits along with the waffle and chicken--everything was divine. The ambiance is beyond adorable, making it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a meal. I also sipped on an amazing old fashioned, and the bill was very reasonable for the quality and experience. I cannot wait to come back and try more of their menu. Highly, highly recommend giving this beautiful establishment a try! experience. I cannot wait to come back and try more of their menu. I attended a private brunch for a group here and the staff was amazing as well as the food and drinks. I had the pancake and fried chicken, tasty! If I'm ever in the area, I will return or recommend. The ambiance was relaxed and the overall feel of the restaurant was modern rustic. I'm glad I attended the brunch to experience this restaurant.

I hate that I like this place so much because the guy I visited with comes here all the time and I don't want to see him... Anyway, food and service were great. Didn't taste ANYTHING I didn't like. The biscuits and gravy touched my soullllll. The chicken pancake was very good too but those biscuits were perfectttttt. I'd def come back.

Went here for Sunday brunch and had a great time! Even though it was busy, we got seated pretty quickly, which was nice. There's a good amount of street parking nearby, so getting there was easy. The staff were super friendly, and the food and drinks were on point. The whole place has a chill, lowkey vibe that I really liked. The decor stood out--super fun and eclectic, which made the atmosphere even better. They also have outdoor seating, so I'll have to check that out next time. Definitely a cute local brunch spot. I'm excited to come back and try more of the menu!

I had confused this place with Era! Smh....a few weeks ago we came here for dinner...Halloween evening to be exact. We arrived at 845p and instead of being greeted and WELCOMED in- we were informed the kitchen closes in 15 minutes with this attitude like- we had just did something wrong. Talk about someone must have been having a bad day- and if that was the case, don't take it out on us...lol strike 1 After being greeted so rudely we sat ourselves at one of the high tops, since the bar was full... Id say about 10 minutes after that, shortly AFTER we arrived, the host who must have also been the manager, greeted a patron with open arms and a big smile. Now I wasn't asking for or expecting a hug lol but just a "good evening" "hello" "welcome" and "by the way just to give you a heads, up our kitchen closes in 15 minutes" would've been perfect. I was appalled that he didn't inform him that their kitchen close at 9p! As we were rudely informed... Instead, the host/manager just joined him at a table. strike 2... I should've went with my gut and suggested to my husband let's just call it a night but nooooooo- I tried to make the best of our evening so we attempted to enjoy our night out anyway. Our waitress was awesome and a breath of fresh air compared to the host/ manager who ever he was. I ordered a glass of Resiling which was quite delicious. Crisp, fruity, not too sweet And my husband had a good ol Old Fashion. For dinner, the hubs opted for the burger which he said would've been good if it was prepared how he requested. He said his burger was dry and more well done, than medium well. I went with the the crab cake sandwich and took one bite and spit it out. Full of fillers and salty. Too salty for me to eat...strike 3 I did enjoy my fries and mushroom crostini tho! Based on today's experience would I venture back here- probably not. The ambiance was pretty cool. Loved the playlist and was really hoping this could be a fav wine bar to add to my rotation of wine experiences but that first impression with the host not creating a "welcoming space" for us really did it for me. "People will always remember how you make them feel" I'd rather take my coins & go somewhere we are welcomed and appreciated. Happy Yelping!

What can I say about my beloved Penny's! Wheww chile. We have a time. Love the food and vibes. We found this place once for brunch after my son's basketball game. It's been a staple ever since. Everything on the menu is delicious! Staff is amazing. Front and back of the house! Bartenders fix delightful beverages and the music playing is always a nostalgic 90s 2000s R and B vibe. Great for HH, Dinner or Brunch. You will never be disappointed. As a a southern PG county girl, glad I found my cheers spot on the northern end of the Beltway. Love. Will be back very soon.

This was such a cute spot! Saw a few reviews and decided to check it out. First and foremost the location is in a super quiet neighborhood with ample street parking. I went on a Saturday around noon and it was not busy at all! I walked in and was seated. The staff was super friendly and welcoming. I got the walnut banana French toast which was good. Wasn't a fan of the bananas but otherwise it was good. I enjoyed it. I also got the egg entree, I got scrambled eggs and bacon, potato's and toast. It was very filling and very good. Overall I would recommend this spot! They also have a dinner and happy hour menu so that's exciting and I will be back for sure!

This brunch spot is everything you need for a fun and delicious girls' day out! From the moment we walked in, we knew we were in for a TREAT. The vibe is perfect for sipping mimosas, catching up with the girlies, and just vibing out in great company. The unlimited mimosas? Yes, please! The perfect way to kick off a relaxed yet indulgent morning and don't even get me started on the breakfast cocktails--they were next level. So creative and flavorful, we definitely sipped our way into a blissful brunch (literally ended up at the bar). As for the food? We ate EVERYTHING. Seriously. Every dish we ordered was packed with flavor, and we honestly cleaned our plates. Each bite was better than the last, and it was hard not to just keep going. From savory to sweet, the flavors were on point, and we were beyond happy with everything. This is the ideal spot to gather with friends for a fun, laid-back, and delicious brunch. The food, drinks, and atmosphere combine to create a perfect experience for a day out with your besties! We'll definitely be back! Please note that parking can be a B and the meters around back don't always work!

One of the highlights was the bottomless brunch, which made for a fun and enjoyable experience. The food was full of flavor and tasted fresh. Every dish was well-seasoned that keeps you coming back for more. The portions were satisfying, and everything arrived hot and beautifully presented. What stood out the most was the hospitality. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. The only downside to our visit was the live band performing inside the restaurant. While the music added to the atmosphere, it was so loud that we couldn't comfortably hear the people at our table or have a conversation. Because of the noise level, we ultimately chose to move to the outdoor seating, where we were able to enjoy our meal and each other's company much more comfortably.

The outdoor area approaching was really nice and had a pleasant vibe, and the inside ambiance was cool too -- good atmosphere overall. Unfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired. We were told we couldn't be seated in a booth because of a section closure, but about 10 minutes later a family was seated in that same section. When we asked about it, we were told staff "thought the staff was leaving" -- which didn't really add up and felt like an inconsistent excuse. It also took about 20 minutes for anyone to greet our table, and another 10 minutes after that just to get water. Once we did order, there wasn't much guidance from staff -- no recommendations on best sellers or specifics about the entrees, just general "it's good" responses across the board. Food-wise, it was a mixed bag: Seafood egg rolls -- really good Stuffed shrimp -- really good Spinach dip -- not the best Lamb chops (my entree) -- two good ones, two very fatty chops that were not good around 8/10 they were seasoned well! Mashed potatoes -- not good Spinach side -- not good bland, needed seasoning Mac n cheese -- pretty good Overall the meat itself was underwhelming given the price point/expectations, seasoning was it! The food had some genuine highlights, but between the slow service, the seating mix-up, and a few misses on the sides, the overall experience didn't quite live up to expectations. Might give it another shot for the ambiance, but hoping for better service next time!
