I went to see Dr. Ahdoot for pain in my right hip. It started as a snapping and popping sensation, then gradually progressed to occasional pain with simple activities like walking or getting out of a chair or car, along with general stiffness. I am very active, so I tried to push through it with physical therapy, chiropractic care, and lots of stretching. These helped for a short time, although I was still physically strong, the pain persisted and continued to worsen. I had never had surgery before, so I was nervous and hesitant to go under the knife. I made simple lifestyle adjustments--limiting certain activities, using seat cushions, and modifying how I moved--but it wasn't enough. The final straw was when I was shopping with my daughter and was in excruciating pain just from walking. That's when I decided it was time. Dr. Ahdoot was quick to get me scheduled for surgery. He and his team helped me navigate insurance and guided me through all the steps needed to prepare. On the day of surgery, the DISC Center in Marina del Rey was phenomenal. They immediately helped put me at ease. Since this was my first surgery, I was very anxious. I had some difficulty fully waking up from anesthesia and developed nausea, but the nurses were wonderful--keeping me comfortable and helping me get moving. I was walking within hours after surgery (with a walker, of course). Within three days, I no longer needed the walker, and aside from mild surgical pain and some muscle stiffness, I already felt significantly better. I am 52 and initially thought this was just a pulled muscle or bursitis because I am otherwise healthy. I was hesitant and skeptical that I needed surgery, but after dealing with the pain for nearly three years, I am so glad I went through with it. Eight weeks after the surgery, my endurance is quickly improving, I am moving without pain and have no restrictions in movement. I had a minimally invasive total hip replacement using the anterior approach. For an additional cost, I opted for a prosthetic customized to my body structure. This allowed the surgeon to avoid cutting any ligaments or tendons, which is crucial for recovery and long-term stability. My incision is about three inches long and healing quickly. I am also a Type 1 diabetic, and we typically heal more slowly and can have more complications. I'm happy to say I am healing very well and have had no issues related to my diabetes. During surgery, I was even able to keep my insulin pump and CGM attached. The anesthesiologist monitored my blood sugar throughout the procedure, which allowed me to stay on my routine and maintain good control before, during, and after surgery. I highly recommend Dr. Ahdoot. He has a calm, steady temperament that immediately puts you at ease. He is confident in his skills, patient, and never made me feel pressured. Couldn't leave zero stars or I would! This was one of the worst medical experiences of my life. Dr. Eli Ahdoot performed a right knee arthroscopy on me in June 2025. The entire surgery from skin to skin (from the time he cut me to the time he stitched me up) only took only 13 MINUTES (Let that sink in) most surgeries like mine last 45 minutes!!! He documented and told me that my ACL was intact. That was completely A LIE. Months later after constantly complaining I couldn't walk I had a second opinion, another surgeon discovered my ACL was torn and had recoiled into a stump. He called it an obvious finding that should never have been missed (It was a softball thing to miss was the exact words). The surgery was stopped since my ACL was destroyed and I needed a cadaver ACL placed in my knee by allograft! After surgery, there was zero proper follow-up. Physical therapy was severely delayed. I was cleared to return to heavy physical work far too soon while still in significant pain and swelling. This completely derailed my recovery. I went from trying to stay mobile to becoming wheelchair and scooter dependent, with a locked knee, severe muscle atrophy, nerve damage, and constant pain. My quality of life has been destroyed. Do not go to Dr. Ahdoot. He is rushed, dismissive, and provides substandard care. I would never recommend him. He doesn't even talk with his patients...you only see his PA's! read more

I consulted with this surgeon twice before deciding to have my hip replacement elsewhere. My decision was based on concerns about inconsistent communication. During my first consultation, I was shown metal implants and was left with the understanding that metal was what he used. Because I have concerns about metal sensitivity, this was an important issue for me. The surgeon also ordered metal sensitivity testing. At my second consultation, he recommended a ceramic femoral head without acknowledging that this differed from my earlier understanding or explaining the change. That left me confused, especially since my metal sensitivity concerns had been discussed from the beginning. I also received conflicting information about technology and surgical planning. During one visit, I was told, "I don't use robotics because I trust my hands more." Later, there was discussion of a 3D CT scan, precision planning, and an additional $4,000 fee. I did not feel I received a clear explanation of exactly what I would be paying for or how it would benefit my surgery...he did NOT on his own accord inform me about the 4000.00....I was told upon check out that the money had to be paid in full a week before surgery. I had no idea what she was talking about he presented like the 3D scan and all the Precision of that 3D model was going to be imperative for my surgery and prior he said he wasn't doing robotics so he didn't disclose the amount and it made no sense to me at all that a $4,000 fee was going to be added on for something I wasn't getting and I shouldn't be paying for that anyway many surgeons in fact the one I chose Incorporated this and I don't have to pay a penny so buyer beware!!! I cannot comment on the quality of his surgical skill because I did not have surgery with him. My review is based solely on my consultation experience. For me, clear communication, consistency, and transparency are essential when making a life-changing medical decision, and unfortunately I did not feel I received that AND trusting a surgeon is IMPERATIVE. read more

I was 65 (now 66) and developed arthritis in my hip. I've been active through my whole life - triathlons, running and hiking and suddenly I was struggling to walk to my car. I was referred to Dr. Ahdoot and from my first visit to his office I knew I was in good hands. His staff are amazing; communicative, helpful and understanding. When we reached the point of actual hip replacement surgery, this took place at Glendale Memorial, it was my first major surgery and I could not have had better care from the hospital staff. Twelve weeks later I can walk without pain; actually I could walk from the first week without assistance and without pain. When I saw the X-Rays this past week prior to my check-in with Dr Ahdoot, it was the first time I realized what the team had done. I have a four-inch (tidy) scar and that's it. Quite amazing considering what the procedure entailed. If you are expreriencing joint pain from arthritis, evidently I don't have a lot of case history, but based on what I recently went through if you have the fortune to be able to work with Dr. Ahdoot and his team I would urge you to do so. Final fact - Dr. Ahdoot's office in Burbank is at the end of a long corridor in his building. When I went for my last consultation before my surgery it took me about five minutes to get from the elevator to the office. Where do I begin? Well for starters, my surgery was on November 5th 2024 a Arthroscopic surgery to my torn meniscus on my left knee. My physical therapy didn't start until Wednesday December 4th of 2024. I am scheduled to go back to work where I lift 90 pounds and have to walk at least 12,500 steps per day. The day to return to work is on December 16th through my EDD, disability. They sent my HR doctors note to return back to work on January 13th of 2025. (So let me get this clear, they gave me a doctors note to return to work on January 16th 2025, but won't extend my EDD disability passed December 16th. I haven't been cleared. The communication is beyond non existent. I was the one who had to follow up with my physical therapy. Not them. My knee is still in a lot of pain, it's swollen and have only 1 day of physical therapy under my belt. I am no where near ready to return to work. I called for them to extended my EDD so I can recover and receive money that I set aside for a situation like this. The denied me and said I am good. Without asking me any questions or checking up on me. I am got a second opinion from my primary doctor and gave me the needed extension. The hubris that Dr. Ahdoot shows is blasphemy. He thinks all people heal the same and he thinks after his survey all you need is 6 weeks. Do your research people. I can bearly walk my dog, can't walk down stairs and definitely can't do my job at work. I can't carry over 15 pounds. I carry over 95-200 pound and tools at work. Some people don't heal until 4 months. Please do you due diligence before coming here. Very disappointed but not surprised. They can message directly to this post and make up some excuse to why they denied my extension or they can flat out call me a liar. The thing is I have receipts My knee has limited mobility. I had to come here because this is where my insurance sent me, I was skeptical to begin with with due to the last name being ahdoot as I had a horrible experience years ago with another Dr with the same last name and their offices being directly next door to each other. I went for my shoulder, I brought in a report of an ultrasound and had zero imaging only a paper report that stated I had 4 partial tears and arthritis, he literally spent a maximum of 60 seconds in the room , diagnosed me without ANY imaging and also diagnosed me with Frozen shoulder, which is Totally different then Partial tears to a shoulder that has been already rebuilt which he couldn't be bothered to listen too of hear about my head on collision or my cervical fusion which could have been playing into my shoulder pain had he taken the time to take an X-ray! When I asked if he was going to take one he said he didn't need to see an X-ray he knew what was wrong and that I needed cortisone shot and physical therapy! WRONG! Needless to say I got a 2nd opinion and the Dr immediately ordered an X-ray prior to even entering the room, spent 20 minutes with us going over it and my extensive damage and has ordered an mri, and a complete different diagnosis and injection that will help me and pending mri possible surgery to repair the tear to the rotator cuff! I really liked Dr Ahdoot but his office is very inefficient. The Surgery coordinator was to call me the next day, no call, I called her and she said she will get back to me. I waited a week then she tells me that my surgery is in 2 months. Who waits 2 months to repair 2 shoulder tendon tears? So I went to another Orth Dr and had the surgery 9 days later. Now I get an invoice from Dr Ahdoot stating I have to call the office if paying via credit card (who mails checks these days, nobody) In calling there are 5 options to pick from, non are payment options, I left a msg twice. I also called their billing office and left a msg with no return call. They have a payment portal but you have to call the office for an invite, good luck getting a person to answer the phone. This doctor possesses terrible people skills from the get-go. The 'great doctor' was almost 30 minutes late for my first appointment, which personally cost me money in my line of work. My time is just as valuable as his and anyone else's. In addition, his office has horrible customer service. I left multiple messages and even mailed them a letter for an $8.00 co-pay bill that they continue to harass me about. I payed the $8.00 co-pay with cash, for each appointment (and I only had two). I was lucky enough to have Dr. Eli Ahdoot recommended to me by my authorizing Doctor, to have my hip replacement. I hit the jackpot!! When I saw that Dr. Ahdoot did "minimally invasive" surgery, I felt I was in the right place. He is excellent at what he does and my experience was stellar! I was guided by his staff for all the preparations one has to do for major surgery and when the day arrived, I knew that I was in the best hands possible! He performed the surgery at Glendale Memorial Hospital, and it was a 10+ experience for me. Everyone who took care of me, was excellent at their task and it couldn't have gone better! I was home the very next day with a nurse and physical therapist following up with me at home.
