Offices were spam calling me back daily or bombarding me with emails like ad agencies lol. Or that typical tiktok "this doctor has THIS special technique" which felt sooo gimmicky and fake. I never felt like I really got to see PS doctors as medical providers and get to speak to them without the shiny Beverly Hills facade. Plastic surgery does have this trendy side.. i get it. But it is still a very big medical procedure and I really felt like I just couldn't trust a lot of these flashy doctors I'd spoken to... I lost around 40 lbs and I always dreamed of fixing my lower pooch area - my case is a little odd because I haven't had kids yet and am relatively lean - I was looking for a really refined result. AND zero BS. just tell me what's possible and what's not. Dr. Kim didn't take a crazy consultation fee. I didn't wait months for a consultation. He didn't try to sell me anything. His office looks and works like an actual (clean and beautiful) medical office. I never waited for my appointments. During my consultation, he gave me plenty of time to ask questions and voice my concerns. I didn't feel like I was being spoken down to or being sold a used car. Finally felt like I'm speaking with a doctor who can actually lay out to me exactly what to expect moving forward, the downsides and upsides of my options, and what was and wasn't possible. Nothing was downplayed or overexaggerated. I had never had surgery before and so I really wasn't ready to have a big procedure like a tummy tuck. I asked if there was a more conservative option for my loose skin/pooch - we settled on a mini tuck with lipo to remove a large portion of my problem area - with the door always open for a full if I ever wanted. Dr. Kim was supportive, nonjudgmental and honest about whatever decision I chose. Results - my mini TT results were BEAUTIFUL. My stubborn lower pooch was totally smoothed out - no lipo ripples or weird creases. I recovered in like 2 weeks. No infections, no broken stitches, no seromas, no hypertrophic scarring, no dead skin, just... nothing. Dr. checked in with me after surgery multiple times to make sure I was doing okay. My garment fit comfortably and I was on just tylenol by the end of day 2. My incision healed into a thin, fine line which was sooo easily covered in a bikini. Way later when I was finally ready for a full tummy tuck surgery to reach the last bits of loose skin, the ease of my decision was in large part influenced by how smooth my past experience was. I trusted I was in good hands, and I was right. AGAIN, the entire procedure despite being a WAY bigger one, was just as smooth as the first time. Drains were easy. Stitches dissolved easily. The new incision is exactly where we planned for it to be - thin, and very very low and replaced my older scar. I entrusted Dr Kim to decide whether muscle repair was needed or not - he said he will if needed, since we're already in there let's make it perfect! I am snatched lol :'D my belly button looks so cute with a little hood, it looks natural and lovely. I'm around 3 weeks out and my incision is already so clean and healing very well. At this point, I can say I have a very good idea of how Dr Kim's office works, the pre op, surgery, the follow up, as well as healing/recovery. All the girls remember me, they make scheduling extremely easy, are fun to talk to, and before and after my operation my nurse really made me feel safe, cared for, and at ease. I was given all instructions and medications promptly and on time, as well as the Dr's personal number for any issues at all. Everyone has their own experiences and surgery is a big decision which can have unpredictable outcomes. But for me, choosing Dr. kim (twice) was the best decision I made for myself. My son was able to get an appointment with his office within a day after being released from the hospital. He assessed the break and said he could perform surgery (mainly moving the nose back into piace) and then applying a "cast" for a week. He did that and removed the cast today. I chose him because of his work on body types similar to mine, I am lean and athletic with very minimal breast tissue and have a long narrow torso. One detail that stood out to me was that I saw that he takes great care of nipple placement, which was important to me because I saw many other surgeons' works with disregard for that aesthetic. After seven months of research, I went to two consultations. I picked Dr. Kahng after careful reflection for his candor and demeanor during my consult. Maritza was in the room with me, which made me feel safe and comforted meeting with and undressing in front of the doctor (Yes, I know it's his job, but I'm a 24yo and can feel nervous alone with men... it felt like having a mom in the room with me when I was a child getting a checkup... I liked that feeling). The nurses have been a pleasure. I've come for four early mornings and they've all greeted me heartily with smiles and laughter. I've contended with anxiety all my life but they put me at such ease every time I see them for check ups-- thank you. In previous consults, when I asked about breastfeeding, possible complications, closing the gap in my visible sternum- I was given enthusiastic yeses! Everything is possible! Nothing can go wrong! But Dr. Kahng had a more reliable and sophisticated demeanor. He was down to earth, but never hesitated to tell me an answer I might not want to hear. His honesty was appreciated far more than any people-pleasing enthusiasm. I actually saw a negative review about his attitude but... it made me want to choose him because I knew he would be honest and direct with me. My augmentation went through smoothly, I did ask for the biggest size my body could fit (350cc) and he told me it might not be possible- but that he would try. He succeeded. I would say the pain was difficult at first, the tightness and stretching, the one hour car-ride home (and back for checkups the first week) But I got through it, and I'm beyond ecstatic about my result. The healing has gone very well, and I was warned amply about potential complications and risks, but I've felt well-cared for and monitored closely by the team at Cara. Finally, I've added a photo of what my nose actually look like now. Seeking a revision in Asia was 20000% worth it. The nose I had done at J-line is chinese style, natural shape, with rounded tip. I'm so happy with the results, and just to tell everyone please get surgery in Asia with doctors who have updated techniques, that don't just stick an implant in there! My J-line viet doctor studied in Shanghai, and actually re-used the cadaver rib dr. Kahng had in my nose.
