Sadly I have to give this business a 2 star review. My husband and I are in the market to create a custom anniversary ring to celebrate over 30 years of marriage. I contacted the business via social media, spoke to the social media creator and sent in photos of rings that I was wanting to use as inspiration. I set an appointment for first thing in the morning on a Friday. Upon arrival, we were greeted and passed to Raffi for him to help us. I explained what we were looking to do, showed him inspiration photos and he had two diamonds there for us to look at that really weren't perfect for the ring that we were wanting to create. He contacted one of his local resources and was able to obtain a few more diamonds in a shape that would suit the ring we were creating perfectly. Up until this point, the customer service and friendliness of the staff was great! Until it wasn't... My husband and I decided on a stone and band that we would have designed. Raffi gave us a few different options for pricing and presented it to us. My husband explained to Raffi that we had another appointment down the street with another jeweler to look at what he had to offer us and to get pricing from him. I asked Raffi if he had a business card so that I could call him after our appointment to inform him on what we decided. We were instantly told that he only gives his business card to people that he will be doing business with and that we knew how to contact him should we need to. Right then and there, we left the store and knew that we would never give this business any of our hard earned money. If they were so put off that we were doing our due diligence on shopping around and comparing prices on an over $13,000 purchase, we knew they weren't the ones to create a memorable piece for us to enjoy for the future. Sorry Raffi! Your attitude about a mere business card lost you a sale and future business/referrals. We have now upgraded the ring even more and have gone with another jeweler. Be warned. If you choose to shop around to ensure that you're getting exactly what you want for a fair price, you'll offend them! So I'm so confused why I'm being iced out, when I've only been in the store one time. And interacted with Vic for 30 mins while I was getting my ring set. I've seen the social medial coordinator Leandra engage with me when I would shout you guys out all the time on tik tok when people wanted recommendations for a family owned business. So I'm confused why I'm being left on read via text and tik tok. I seriously was advocating so hard for your company because I stood by your message of being family owned and your "passion" is custom settings. I tried to bring up my concerns by commenting on one of their tiktok post and it was left unread, and they continued to post as scheduled. So I guess I'll escalate it to google and yelp. I guess because we didn't get the stone from you guys and only got setting done, we're not worth of your time. Very unfortunate feeling this way when I've been advocating all my friends to go to you. I didn't care that we had to wait a little bit or that in my receipt I asked for lobster claw and he did round prongs. I really thought he was doing what he was passionate at and decided to change it because durability? Since I told him I work with my hands a lot and I want to make sure it's secure. But this whole ghosting experience left such a bad taste in my mouth for a moment that was supposed to be so special to me because I was able to have it before my grandpa passed. We got our band else where. My engagement ring is fine as of now, but when it comes to the maintenance of the setting we've purchased, I guess we'll see what happens. We went to several stores in DTLA and our last stop was Icing. In 2018, after our 10 year anniversary, my husband wanted to upgrade my engagement ring. By chance, Raffi responded to our appointment and we worked with him to upgrade my 1 ct. princess cut solitaire to a nearly 2 ct. emerald cut diamond in a cathedral style setting, my dream ring. Never has my hand looked so glittery with my new ring and wedding band combo. Seven years and two beautiful kids later, I wanted to update my engagement ring to represent the past, present, and future with a three stone ring but using the same center stone. So I decided to surprise my girlfriend in Paris while she was on a trip with friends in Europe. Just before my flight to Europe, I went on the search for a promise ring. After perusing many options, I decided to give this place a try. I found parking at a pay lot not far from the entrance to the building in which this place sits. After making my way into the building, I proceeded to the third floor. A short walk led me to this fine establishment. The sales lady, Ani, showed me many different rings before I found the perfect one. I decided on a 14kw 6-prong ring with diamonds spanning 3/4 across. The center piece is a round diamond. Check out was seamless. I swiped my card, and Ani provided me with the paperwork. I hung out by the couch and TV, sipped on water and coffee while I waited for the ring to be ready. It was a short wait, less than 30 minutes. The ring looked magnificent, and my girlfriend was impressed when I presented it to her in Paris. Icing on the Ring surpassed my expectations. Had a terrible experience with Icing on the Ring. We purchased an expensive engagement ring and within a few weeks the ring itself totally deformed. The circle turned more into an oval/square. We brought the ring in and they reformed it advising that it was worn too aggressively. It was not on for any exercising, but we thought maybe from gripping a steering wheel too hard or something of the sort. Unfortunately, a few more weeks passed the same thing happened - it totally lost it's form despite wearing it very seldomly and never in any situation that should cause this. We brought it in again looking for a permanent solution. The owner Vic knew we were coming in to discuss this. Upon arrival, he approached us and without even introducing himself began to explain how this issue was our fault and not covered by any policy of theres. He chose his words wisely - never flat out calling us liars - but saying that this was 0% their fault. Vic pretended to listen to us, he had a big smile plastered on his face and he nodded while we spoke, but his obvious plan from the very start was for us to pay for any changes or for us to get the hell out of the store before any other customers heard our complaints. He's clearly been through this exercise many times before. We are now needing to get this fixed at another store for an additional $2,000. There are lots of jeweler options out there, I would not walk, but run away from this place. Very, very disappointing. read more
