Unfortunately I had a terrible experience with this company. I was told I would get a bigger truck. They couldn't get much in this one hardly at all. I told them just my heavy stuff and they left half of it at my home. When we got to the new place I have a mattress that got stuck on the truck latch and tore a 2 foot hole underneath. It doesn't show but it was a $1000 mattress. All that being said the part I felt uncomfortable about was when the first mover arrived early we talked a little bit and said if your tipping us we prefer cash. First I paid almost $800. I didn't know that I had to pay a tip too. I did because I felt pressured to. But I felt it was extremely rude. This was back in March. I thought it would save me a lot of headache but I was still moving my stuff until the end of March. It was an experience that I will never do again. I wanted to like this company but I just didn't. Overpriced | $1,400-1,600 12/2 still no word.. after many calls, emails My son has no dresser and living out of card board boxes! Merry Christmas! 11/4. I did exactly as instructed below, have not heard anything back. I have called several times and emailed no response. My 12 yr old son is without a dresser and still living out of boxes since July 26th! As a single working mom I cannot afford to buy him a new one. Please respond! WHAT COULD IMPROVE? SERIOUSLY? 1.) Give us a frigging invoice to give to our insurance company for reimbursement of your ridiculous fee. 2) Pickup the discarded sofa you left in *my* POD, a violation of rules re the POD & an insult to me. 3) Show up on time. Arriving after 6:00 pm for a 3:00 appointment time is unacceptable. Plus the 2 who came were too exhausted to work as expected. Joshua's helper did the bulk of the work because Joshua was tired after moving his *own* house! 4) Think about placement. No thought was given to placement of my things. I had to keep reminding them to at least leave a path; Joshua didn't seem to grasp that. Then I couldn't get Joshua's attention re my box springs & frame. They needed alignment, so in desperation, I put my age 73 body on the floor to begin aligning my box springs with the bed. Finally done, I had to ask for help straightening the fame within the space. 5). I am submitting this complaint regarding Elite Affordable Moving Company, located in Indianapolis, Indiana, due to their failure to complete contracted services and improper billing for work that was never finished. We hired this company for a full-service pack and move from our townhome to an apartment. The agreement included packing all items, providing proper materials (such as padding and wrap), and completing the move in full. What actually happened: * Only 2 out of the 4 movers showed up. * They arrived without the proper packing materials that were explicitly agreed upon. * The movers themselves stated it was unsafe to move our furniture without the necessary supplies. * They were late every day and unprepared. * Only about 70% of our items were packed, and nothing was moved. * We notified the owner that we no longer wished to continue the job and asked for cancellation. Despite this, we were charged in full for both packing and moving services -- which is entirely inappropriate given that the job was never completed and was handled unprofessionally from the start. After the charge was processed, the company became completely unresponsive, ignoring all attempts to reach out via phone and email. Upon further investigation, we discovered that numerous other customers have experienced similar issues: being charged large amounts upfront and then ignored or abandoned by the company. DO NOT HIRE ELITE AFFORDABLE MOVERS - FRAUDULENT EXPERIENCE WITH OWNER JOSHUA DICKUN I usually go out of my way to support small, veteran-owned businesses. When I first met Joshua Dickun, the owner of Elite Affordable Movers, I felt confident. He presented himself as a Navy veteran and assured us that we'd be well taken care of. After a professional walk-through estimate at our townhome, everything seemed great. Unfortunately, that's where the positives ended. Day 1: The Packing Disaster We scheduled three packers to arrive at 9:30 AM. Not one showed up on time. Instead, they trickled in at 10:40 AM, 11:40 AM, and 12:30 PM. Despite the full day being blocked off for packing, only about 70% of our home was packed by day's end. That should have been the first red flag. Day 2: The Move That Never Happened Move day was a complete failure. Only two of the four movers showed up. A third arrived late, looked around, and left. The remaining two quickly realized they lacked the proper padding and materials needed to move our furniture safely. They tried calling management repeatedly -- no response. Eventually, someone answered only to say the necessary padding wouldn't be coming. One mover even told us outright that he didn't feel comfortable moving anything because damage was likely. With no plan, no support, and no solutions, we had to cancel the move entirely. The Owner: Joshua Dickun Joshua called afterward claiming he wanted to "make it right." Instead, he argued with us about pricing while we sat in a half-packed house, hours behind schedule, with no movers and nowhere to go. He promised a new team -- but of course, no one ever came. He ghosted us completely. The Final Blow Despite everything -- the late packers, the no-show movers, the canceled move -- Joshua charged us in full for both packing and moving services. That's $3,000 gone, for a move that never happened. A Pattern of Deceit Our experience isn't unique. Look at the reviews. There are multiple complaints and even lawsuits against this company and its owner. Several employees we spoke with admitted off the record that things behind the scenes are chaotic, unprofessional, and dishonest. Bottom Line Elite Affordable Movers is disorganized, unreliable, and -- in my experience -- fraudulent. Joshua Dickun talks a good game, but when it counts, he disappears. We have never felt compelled to write a negative review in our lives, but here we are. If sharing our experience saves even one person from facing similar heartache and financial loss, this will have been worth it. We hired Elite Affordable Movers for moving and storage in late 2025 and it was disastrous, costing us thousands and thousands of dollars in destroyed, damaged, or lost belongings - some of which were irreplaceable heirlooms. Their crew's careless disregard for our belongings was staggering. They appeared inexperienced, inadequately trained, and poorly supervised. Mirrors, paintings in glass frames, antique lamps shattered into pieces. Valuable or antique furniture was gouged, scratched, or had pieces broken off and lost. Several pieces of heavy, well-made, expensive furniture were crushed beyond repair. The owners have since ghosted us rather than pay our claims, which we filed according to their instructions. We tried dozens of times over the past months to contact them. We left text messages, voicemail messages, emails, messages with their answering service, mailed letters -- and received no response. Regardless of any seemingly genuine reply Elite Affordable might post to this review, words are cheap. And even if they do eventually pay the pittance they owe per the contract, it could never approach the scale of the damage they caused. read more

WARNING, WARNING - this company is SCUM! Stay away from this company!!! We had a large move and were told we would have 6 experienced movers and 2 large trucks @ 9:30 in the morning for a price of approx $2100.00. At 11 AM, three movers came in their car (they were contracted for the day) No truck and no additional movers. At 2 PM, one truck showed up, but the driver of the truck did not stay. After 2 PM, 2 more men showed, however, they quickly informed us they had answered a Craigs List Ad that morning to come move us - no experience. a couple of hours later, a woman, the wife of one of the craig list men, showed up and advised us she doesn't do steps - we moved from a 3 story house to a 3 story house!!! She would literally carry a throw pillow from a couch to the truck and we were charged for her! The workers from craigs list reeked of POT (they would frequently go to their car and "smoke". They had absolutely no experience. They banged my furniture and my walls like crazy - causing a lot of damage!!! The 2nd truck then did arrive - it was a very small truck that was useless. The Craig Listers all left before 8 PM, taking the small truck with them, leaving the 3 contract workers to do everything with one truck. We placed over 30 calls that day to the Owner, Josh and to the office, Jonetta to absolutely no avail. Most of the calls went unanswered - At 1:45 AM, we let the contracted workers go - they had worked so hard, however, the move was not complete. I see at 7 PM, my credit card was charged for an amount that was almost double my quote over $3900.00! We continued to make calls to the owner Josh and the office - if we did get an answer, it was a promise to correct and get back to us. We also realized we had missing property - shelves from our bookcases and our dolly (the trucks neither one had a dolly, so they used ours - and took it at the end of the night!) To make matters worse - we open our bank statement a week later and see that they have charged us an additional $ 870 for additional move time - We have filed a fraud charge with our bank on the last transaction. These people are not professional movers and this is not an honest business. We have an incredible amount of damage to our homes - both the one we moved out of and the new one. We have continued to call daily but do not get answers. We are filing a claim with the attorney general's office - this company should be shut down. This Josh gives veterans a bad name - He is the most dishonest, lying despicable human being ever. They are unreliable and not qualified to move anything. 1 star is generous!! Worst company...booked this move month's in advance and had numerous conversations over those months on the care I needed to ensure my items were protected and handled with care. They assured me they would be but unfortunately they were not! They demolished a 65 inch TV, had damaged to a chest and dresser which were all under 1 year old, plus damaged my home that I moved out of which is on the market. They advised me the owner would call me but he never did. They also advised me to file a claim which I did and they never responded with my multiple attempts via email and phone calls still no response. I have initiated Further action but I would stay away from this company it's very unfortunate companies operate with the lack of integrity and compassion for their customers. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! My wife and I have moved with MANY companies over the years due to my profession(aviation). This has been by far, THE WORST! Booking was easy, however, thats where it ends. Moving out went relatively uneventful(unbeknownst to us). Moving in(and aftermath) was a total disaster. Our move was more simplified in that we needed nothing placed or assembled due to a subsequent painting crew coming in. All property was set in the middle of a designated room and immediately placed under plastic to not take paint damage. During the unloading process we were informed that our entertainment center took damage to the corners. As previously stated I have moved many times over the years and accepted this as "dead loss" due to a bit of damage to property and it didn't appear to be intentional. 3 hours after the move and "final" billing we received a call stating that they had messed up and we owed another $300+ . Overall the final bill came in about $500 more then the initial quote. 2 days later after the paint crew was finished(and to our surprise), we discovered they placed moving tape directly on all of our furniture. Our entire bedroom suite was destroyed including one of our sons dressers as well. Melanie(our POC) was informed immediately and initially appeared to be concerned. This is not the case as we have now placed MANY calls, texts, and emails to both Josh and Melanie and they have resulted in nothing but complete silent treatment. We are out $4000 of furniture and they will not respond at all!!!! To quote Melanie "we don't let customers fall through the cracks". YES YOU DO. The mover himself was great. Professional didn't waste anytime while doing his job. As for the company, I'd never recommend them. I knew it started bad when I was scheduled for 9am-11am slot where once driver didn't come until 11am the other came 20 minutes later. I called prior to fully inform them what I needed and was told they'd have it only for them to show up with out and causing so much more unnecessary time, they agree to compensate me they finish I see the charges I agree all for them to suddenly try to up charge me after I pay making the TV compensation a joke. Maybe my expectations are too high, or rather I value my clients' perception of me and the service I provide much greater. If I don't give exceptional care each and every day, the organization would let me go. I'm saying this only because I don't like being negative or complaining. I've never given anyone a bad review before, even after receiving bad service. I've learned to trust my gut, and my gut tells me this just isn't the best quality for the cost. I think they needed more than two guys for the move. Ryan was very polite. The other guy just seemed to cut up a lot. Even when I spoke to him, he wasn't polite. He complained about the enterance/exit to my apartment. I paid $357 for 2 hours the day prior to the move for them to "pack" 4 cabinets. The day of the move, my daughter had to demand they bring the boxes up the stairs from the garage! That was my whole point in hiring help since I recently ruptured 2 lumbar discs. I even made a point when scheduling to be sure they'd bring my items upstairs. I paid extra due to being on the 2nd flr. Ryan, I believe he's the owner, paid the cancelation fee w/ the company I was already scheduled with so I'd hire his company. The scheduler is very helpful and ambitious, accomidating, it's just the actual help. It isnt just this company. I feel bad for business owners. People have zero work ethic these days, but feel entitled to demand an hourly wage that far surpasses the amount of effort and dedication they bring with them through the doors each day and deliver for said co. How can I start, my 75 year old mom called to have 4 beds, 12 boxes two dressers, 3 night stands and 3 mattress moved. I broke down all the beds, and all the boxes was sealed and at the front door. So we had a split load.. Some storage some to the new home she was quoted $575.00 at two hours. We had three movers. I am not blaming them. The movers wrap all the furniture even the stuff going to storage, which made no sense. The movers advised me that we should have been giving the option to wrap it ourself or not have it wrap. So with that being said my mom was taken advantage of. Out of concern. I spoke to Josh he was rude stated they are the cheapest. Josh also stated this is different I usually have people call becauae things are not wrapped. Being very condescending. Buyer beware once the service is rendered customer service is out the door. At the end of the day the time was stretched to 6.5 hours with a $1200 bill. So wrap your own items with plastic and drop cloths. I love reviews!!! 0 Stars if I could! Absolutely terrible experience and I feel robbed. Do not use! Movers arrived late with NO moving equipment! No dolly's, no tools, no straps. An estimated move of 3-4 hours took 5.45 hours and that is because myself and husband begin moving items off the moving truck and into our new home. Movers had NO materials to disassemble or reassemble our items. We were charged more than doubled our quote! That's robbery. The movers arrived late and stood around upon arrival. Their movers were not physically capable to move (extremely slow) No PPE was worn by staff. No moving gloves, no shoe covers. Their moving truck reeked of gasoline and black oil that got on all our moves items including my $2000 mattresses that was WRAPPED! The manager (Josh) did nothing to assist his team. Nor did he accommodate us. Damages to my dresser and scratches and dents all on my walls to my newly built home. Terrible. Dirty. Unethical. Extremely unprofessional. read more
