My experience this time was so terrible that I can't stress enough to go with a different company. Ann, the office manager was EXTREMELY rude and unprofessional. I have her voicemail and would attach it here if reviews permitted that. I was told that I would receive a phone call prior to the movers arriving. I waited this morning and didn't receive one. Then I called was informed that the movers were there waiting for 45 minutes and that I was responsible for paying for that time they waited because someone wrote my phone number incorrectly. When I called, Ann said "normal people" would be where they are supposed to be. They decided to have three movers and NEVER informed me. They moved the same stuff from my old house to the storage with 2 movers. Costing me $77 more per hour more than anticipated. I didn't authorize an additional mover. The owner came to my house last time to give me a quote and left his business card. I have misplaced it (while moving) and Ann refuses to give me his contact info. read more

Our moving experience this morning was outstanding. Chris, Michael, and Cody showed up promptly as arranged. They immediately went to work and had all of our stuff loaded in about an hour. The drive was short (about 25 miles), and they efficiently began unloading, taking our direction about placement of the items. When it came time to pay the bill, it was less than the estimate. I'm not among those who are confused about Two Guys & A Truck vs. Two Men and a Truck. Two Men are truly terrible. I've had several good experiences with Two Guys but have been disappointed by my recent move with them. It was a two-day move: packing and loading on the first day and loading and delivering on the second day. They failed to tell me they were going to drop off a load at the new house on the second day before coming to the old house to finish loading and delivering, so they were at the new house with a truckful and no way to get in while I was waiting for them at the old house. That threw off the rest of the day. But worse, as I unpack wardrobe boxes now, I see that - despite my specific request at the outset that they NOT put extra items in the bottoms of the wardrobes - that's exactly what they did: crammed all kinds of unrelated stuff in the bottoms. Difficult to fish out, everything is wrinkled and disheveled, and I'm in chaos trying to sort it. I had booked this move two months in advance and planned down to the last detail, but I guess poor service wins in the end. read more

As a previous customer, I was confident in using this company for a large move, over 4600sq. ft. home. It was understood by all that it would be a 2-day move -- day one for storage items, day two to an apartment. To be clear, reading the agreement should be a large red flag...essentially it absolves this company from any and all responsibility for damaged items. Long story short, if they don't pack it, then it's the customer's fault. Several items were broken, including a very expensive piece of art, even with meticulous packing as the movers did not take care nor notice several "fragile" stickers; unsecured bed frame (causing the bed to collapse due to a broken board), two-piece armoire not reattached (causing shifting), items taken to storage that should have been delivered to the apartment, furniture legs turned in the opposite direction, missing lamp finials, missing television cord...the list is long. Most disturbing: a member of the crew using the restroom, stopping-up the toilet with defecation and not warning the customer of the situation. In many cases, I am normally willing to let some things go, however, in this case I want to warn others who may be considering John Mitchell's Two Guys and a Truck: If it's their fault -- it's NOT their fault. I paid thousands for this move and regret very much having used this company. While being compensated for the loses would be welcomed, I don't expect that to happen. Their policy absolves them of any responsibility of any sort. What they don't understand is excellent customer service is the key to survival. They get great reviews from others and that's fine, those customers' experience was very different. However, there should be NO difference. I wish I could give two reviews: one for the work crew and one for the management. The crew was quick, took care of our belongings and with 1 exception did great. The management is a different story. They consistently had to wrong date for our move down, and I corrected them several times. I double-checked the day before, and sure enough, they had the wrong date down. They did get everything squared away, but that was one more thing to worry about. During the move, the crew put a hole in an expensive leather chair of ours that they packed. They were apologetic, accepted fault, and had us fill out a form and told us someone would contact us quickly. That never happened. I sent emails, including with pics as proof. I had the form. I even called them, but they never replied. I gave them a chance to make things right and they refused to do so. read more

This was the fifth time using Two Guys and a Truck for a move over a period of 20 years, and every time has gone well. The gentleman who gave the estimate was very nice and upbeat, as were all the people I spoke to on the phone. The estimate was reasonable. I had to change gears about a week before the move and move to everything to a storage unit in Anderson instead of a house in Fishers; they took it in stride like it happened everyday. On the day of the move, they arrived on time and moved things into the truck at a brisk pace. The crew was composed of several nice, upbeat guys who treated my possessions with care. If I had any constructive feedback, it would be to have a device of some sort along in the truck to move several bins (or whatever) at once from the truck to the storage unit. They hand carried each bin one by one which took more time than it needed to... but they were careful with everything. They know how to stack a storage unit! And their cheery attitude on a bitterly cold day made the whole thing easier on me. read more

Wow, where do I start? We had moved with them three years earlier and the move went fairly smoothly. But this time.... oh, where do I start? When we called the office to schedule, we mentioned that they had moved us 3 years earlier. They said "oh yes, you get our return customer discount", but then when we started talking about the property and the quote, they said that their files were off in archive somewhere and they didn't have any information on our previous move. We got a date scheduled and the quote was $1,200 for 7.5 hours on a Saturday for 2 trucks and 3 guys. We mentioned that we had gotten rid of quite a bit of furniture, including a dining set for 8, so we would definitely have less items on this move than we had on the last. But the quote stayed at that amount. That seemed a little steep, but we trusted them. The guys arrived and there was a strong smell of smoke that permeated the house during the move. They had 1 leader, 1 experienced person, 1 rookie, and a brand new guy who didn't really do much except stand around and wait for instruction. He also grabbed a heavy piece and drug it across the wood floor! NO! I said "Stop! You are scratching the floor!" Everything was loaded in just a couple of hours and it didn't even fill one truck. The leader said something about sending the other truck back because it wasn't needed and it was a waste of money. Apparently the office told him to keep it because both trucks showed up at the new house. The forecast called for rain so we were surprised to find that none of our furniture had been protected and they had no way to shield it from the rain while bringing it in. Rain soaked everything, including our leather sofa that they had not protected. The only things saved from the rain were the mattresses, but that is only because we had covered them in plastic mattress moving bags from Home Depot before the guys arrived. In addition to soaking a leather couch, they dropped an expensive file cabinet off the back of the truck and it crashed down in our lawn! It was all dented up and covered in grass. A $400 HON lateral cabinet! They tried to pretend it was OK. But the cabinet was clearly damaged and our files were getting soaked. We pulled everything out and they tried to set it on our carpet. Grass, muddy water, and all! They said they would take it and get it repaired. The guys also dripped muddy water on our brand new carpet and we had to have it cleaned. The leader wrote down the damaged items and promised that Ann would call us Monday (the next business day). He promised that everything would be fixed soon. So we stupidly went ahead and paid in full. HUGE MISTAKE - DO NOT PAY THEM IF ANYTHING IS WRONG. We waited and waited, but Ann never called. We tried calling them several times, but they don't actually answer the phone. You just leave a message and they are supposed to call you back. I also tried contacting them via their web site form. Nothing. We have a damaged couch and no file cabinet. They have our file cabinet. According to law, since we paid them for the move, ALL of our possessions must be given to us within 14 days of payment. So they are now in violation of law. We have filed with the Attorney General. In the end, the guys were only there 4.5 hours, not 7.5, yet we were charged almost $1,000. I fail to see how 3 less hours of work warrants only $200 less in fees. Attached is a picture providing the proof of when they documented who damaged the items and what the items were (this is the leader's notebook). Be careful and look at the reviews on other sites. If I had seen the Google review that had a story similar to mine, I definitely would have thought twice about booking them. read more

When you move, your whole life is being transferred from one place to another. Fear that your possessions won't make it safely is ever present. The guys who did our move were amazing! They were very professional, personable and so careful with our belongings. They were extremely cautious as to not cause damage to our items, the walls or the woodwork. Hired this company to move my wife and I from our modest 1,348-square-foot, 3 bed/2 bath Indianapolis home to a place up in East Lansing, Mich. We were sold on having the same crew load up the truck on a Friday night in Indy and unloading on a Saturday morning in E.L. -- having familiar faces for the duration of the trip was nice. The price tag was a bit steep at first -- I believe around $3,500 -- but my wife and I are firm believers in "you get what you pay for," and I felt it was worth every penny. They helped with disassembling and reassembling some furniture, as well as a pinball machine, which they maneuvered into the basement of our new house like champs. Nothing appeared to have been broken or dented in the move, although there was a small scuff on a metal desk that went in our basement, but no biggie. Generally, they did a really nice job with protecting all our stuff and furniture with padding, plastic wrap, etc. Would highly recommend them for your move! read more

I should have gotten her name to compliment her on her great customer service. I had inquired at about 3 other moving companies and after speaking with her and getting all of the info, I went ahead and booked our move with her. The 2 gentlemen arrived on time and they were extremely respectful and professional. They moved everything with ease from one home to the other with no problems. They were very understanding that we wanted to get the job done in 2 hours or less and they made it happen! We never even mentioned that to them but they have us that courtesy. These two slobs and a truck owner came and did a walk through of the house. He said he could move everything no problem including the basement. He never put it in writing at all for the estimate. This was Thursday. Then Saturday came. They didn't put blankets around anything. They even broke the spindle to the banaster and split a table down the middle that had drawers on n it. Then they lost a piece to the grandfather clock. Now they want paid before the complete job is done. One kid sounded like he was on drugs. He slurred bad. The crew leader Chris had a slight booze smell on his breath. They still had somebody else's stuff a small portion on the truck. They left stuff in every room. They blamed my loose clothes. But they could have loaded more furniture from other rooms. Then came and said the basement wasn't on schedule to be moved. Then they did not move the shafirobe or the box springs to a bed. Now they want to change their story saying I was going to move boxes out with a friend. I told the moving company that yes I started to. But my knee is broken. I need a replacement. They never did put anything in writing at all. They closed at 3pm Saturday when they put on their own website that they were supposed to close at 5pm. Do not use these movers. They are not what movers should be. What happened to paying after the complete job is done before you pay them? Nobody wants paid after the job is done anymore. Everybody wants paid up front.the court judges even tell you to pay after the job is done. Not before the job is done. And one more thing. Shawn does not own this John Mitchell two slobs and the truck. Shawn is the owner in law. He married into the the Mitchell family. These are crooked people. My wife and I needed a piano move here in Anderson, so we began to search for a mover that could help us get that done. Calling on several movers that we found in the Anderson area, we gave a call to six different company's in the area trying to get this handled. At first we called for an estimate to try to get it accomplished looking at the price that would.be involved to get it handled. We needed to have the piano moved from one place in the city to another. And up 5 steps. So I called " the people at "Two men and a truck" encountering a lady that did the estaminet for the Moving estimate. She was very kind! But for one hour to move the piano she quoted us an enormous amount of money! Holy Mackerel, That was almost more than I have ever in my life heard of for moving any piano we've ever moved!!! And what if it takes more than an hour? You got a pay double. I asked her also if we would be able to get it to man for sure because I am handicapped and can't help. She assured me too man would come. I'm not sure I believe her, because of the way she said it. Sometimes you can tell when a person it just isn't sure of something or maybe is it telling you and the whole truth, I don't know I wouldn't use this company if my life depended on it now that I've seen this her this and got a quote. I can't begin to tell all our troubles with this service. We were given a phone estimate because the guy forget the apt. The bill was more than 2x the estimate. They called an additional truck 1/2 way through our move and didn't communicate it would cost more. We had several valuables broken. A cedar chest was broken, exposed screws and someone bled all over our sheets, not finding this until we tried to make a bed. We were also not told they broke the cedar chest. All day they tried to deposit boxes anywhere they wanted when every box was marked as to what room they went in. I had to watch all of them and get them to put boxes in the right rooms. (We have limited ability to lift or move heavy objects) They used much profanity. Doors and walls are nicked and need repainting. There are dirty hand prints all over the light switches. They left blankets for moving at our old house x 2 and a pair of moving gloves. I spent days trying to put boxes back in the right rooms. Some too heavy to lift. At 5pm we were given a bill and they never even moved the garage, it was left for us to do. Trying to talk to them about the problems we had, they were so defensive and just wanted their money, I don't think they were interested in the problems or how to solve them. Very disappointed with this "service". As long as they've been in business you'd thing this would be a more proficient process by now. read more

I have never used a moving company before and was surprised how efficient and hassle free it was. I called several companies in the Indianapolis area and Two Guys and a Truck was competitive in pricing but I liked how they allowed time past in 15 min increments. Most other companies charged you for the full next hour even if you weren't using it. The day of the move they showed up on time and were careful loading items into the truck, I even had some fragile items they took special note on and I felt comfortable with them moving. I would recommend them to anyone and will be using next time I have to move! Only downside was there seemed to be some confusion on the phone I asked if they would move items at the new location and the lady on the phone said yes but it seemed they didn't relay that to the crew on the day read more

The move was ok, although they broke a couple of cheap items and occasionally seemed more interested in talking about the NFL than loading the truck. One guy offered to repay me for the lamp shade he broke, but nobody acknowledged the small shelving unit (particle board) that collapsed when it got to the new place. They did not move me. I am a neighbor of a house they moved people into. We live on a narrow, moderate traffic street with paved sidewalks and regular pedestrian traffic. They parked their truck so that the sidewalk was blocked and forced people to walk out into the street to get around it. They were in the driveway which had another 75 feet of unobstructed room to park in. They would only have had to move the truck back four feet to clear the sidewalk. They refused claiming they had a right to block the sidewalk. There was absolutely no reason they could not have moved the truck back four feet up the driveway. This is not a good way to get started off with new neighbors. Something for you prospective customers to consider. If they needlessly disregard peoples' safety, how seriously will they regard you and your property. read more

I called to schedule a move and after giving Anne my credit card information, Anne told me that she would call me the day before to inform me about the time the movers will be coming. I wanted an early morning appointment and Anne argued with me that she wasn't sure of the time the movers would arrive, so I told her to cancel the appointment and she confirmed to me the appointment was canceled before I ended the call with her. The actual move was fantastic! My estimate was about $375for three hours and I was excited that the clock didn't start until they arrived at my storage unit to load the truck. However at the end of the move my bill was closer to $500. There was a mysterious $150 charge that when I asked was for gas? Overall the movers were fantastic and I would use again.
