We had to get our 7.5 month old a haircut because of medical reasons and we didn't want to do it ourselves. I called and they said children should be at least 3 years old but when I explained the situation they were more than accommodating and told us to come in for the haircut. We made the appointment for Sunday morning at 10 and the shop was open and ready for us so there was no waiting. E welcomed us and offered us a beverage right away. He listened to our concerned and didn't hesitate at all to help us with our needs. It was sad to see my boy's curls and long hair disappear but I'm glad I brought him to Elite to get it cut. E was gentle with my son and kept him engaged each step of the way. They both did a great job. I'm sure even without the medical reasons we'll come back for future haircuts.

Been here a couple of times in the past but I guess I didn't appreciate them as much as I did tonight!!!! Called at 330 and they took my two boys in to fix their botched hair cut from another "salon" in Brea that we went to just yesterday!!! Ugh. They took us in at 5 and Alfredo did an amazing job. Was gonna just wait it out for their to grow to go to a real barber shop but my boys couldn't bear another day lol Boys cut was $25 each and he even cleaned up one of my sons in unibrow!!! Nice little extra service!! Thank you again!!

I was looking for a barber for my son, and found this place on Yelp. A lady had recently posted that Ezbai "E" had cut her son's hair recently, and it was just the style I was looking for. I'm so glad that I found him! Ezbai is kind, patient, and detailed with my little one. The shop always offers drinks and has music playing. Great haircuts and good vibes! Thanks, E and Elite!

He was so patient with my little one. i've attached photos of his haircut and a before if his crazy his hair was! fiancé also loved his cut. my infant and dog were also here and it was very chill! definitely would recommend for adults or kids. How much do u charge for a haircut for a 13 year old?

They charged my son 35 dollars. Seems expensive for a kids haircut. And they don't post prices in the shop or on the website. Kinda shady in my opinion considering you asked the question and they still don't answer. I won't be back. Haircut was okay… Read more

I first found Hammer and Nails in my hometown of Brea purely by happenstance (and in effort to find another place for a good haircut, perhaps dabble in pedicures, besides Sport Clips). Curiosity drew me into this establishment, but by golly, it was the experience that had me stay until I eventually couldn't. From the moment I first walked in, I was blown away by the aesthetic-- definitely tailored towards guys. What's more, for my first visit, was offered a complimentary beverage (my go-to was always a woodford reserve whiskey on the rocks-- puts one at ease during a nice cut). Be it a haircut, a mani-pedi (shoutout to the Jack Hammer combo) or even a simple facial treatment, this place rocks in terms of quality, service and attention to detail. Add to that some TVs to view your shows (shoutout to the mani-pedi crew; I remember at one point you were even offered headphones to listen to TV while getting work done), and this place is worth its weight in gold in terms of what they charge (even if the memberships had a slight increase in price during my time there). In fact, it was so good that I even brought my girlfriend along for her mani-pedi (she absolutely loved it). Definitely put a smile on my face. If I did have to criticize one thing about Hammer and Nails, it wouldn't be about this location (to be fair, I always scheduled my appointments here), but about the availability of locations in general. The memberships provided are perfect (if a bit costly) in what they provide-- if you are to remain in SoCal (or just so happen to cross paths with a location across the nation). Unfortunately, it is with this critique that I had to cancel my membership; while the service is stellar, and the membership transferable for use across the nation for any of the brand's locations, there is simply no presence of the brand in MN at the time of writing. Had there been, I may have kept my membership indefinitely. A weakness to be sure, but a testament to the brand's potential overall. If I do ever make any return trips to CA in the future (and my hair is running long), I'll definitely stop by just for old times sake. Cheers, guys, and take care!

Services I got was the sports pedicure and the premium cut. Everything was great from start to finish, really appreciate my pedicure lady (didn't get her name unfortunately), but she made me feel well pampered and relaxed, which is something I desperately needed. My only critic is I wish this place was a little more cleaner in the spaces that they work--mainly just the hair cutting area. I saw dust and uncleaned work spaces that made me wonder if the tools my hair stylist was using was even clean. Only saying this because you are paying a good amount of money for a luxury experience, and I feel like the business cleanliness should reflect that. Great place overall.

My previous barber had left after 5 years who I went to after the person next to them at the same barbershop moved back home after going to them for almost 15 years... so, you can say once I find some one good in a good place, I'm a pretty loyal customer. I wasn't used to the style of salon/barbershop (individual spaces/booth) but it was more cozy then being in a store with a bunch of other customers and barbers all lined up. Atmosphere was great and playing some 80's tunes was awesome. Read some reviews of this salon and saw the transparent pricing and decided to book for Saturday 5/23/26 (Memorial weekend!) they were able to fit me at a convenient time at 12pm. Walked in and was told to put on a gown, which was super cute since I've never been to a Korean salon! Coffee, water, and tea station is available right in the front. They washed my hair and seated me right away. I told my stylist, Lydia, an inspo pic and I'd say it gets really close to what I want! They blew dry my hair and my hair feels sooo nice after the cut and wash. If I live here, I'd definitely be back. Thank you Elle Hair Salon and Lydia

UPDATE 1: I think there was a lot of miscommunication (language barriers). I've also thin hair that…read moreadds complication. I requested a cooler mushroom ash brown & showed photos I thought were a darker, creamy brown. It came out blond so I stopped Yuna from styling, researched & asked for dark "grey ash" to rid yellow. Not upset with Yuna, just the pink brass fix. I didn't notice / ask for discount at checkout but TY. I lied w/ "it's okay" because I was stressed and wanted to leave, but I told Yuna the truth at checkout. I just want this fixed. ORIGINAL: Fresh from Elle Salon and I'm still so upset, so I'm documenting my experience here as an honest warning. I wanted to really like this place. I loved their website, price transparency and ease of booking an appt. Yuna was relatively meticulous with doing my balayage (except for one blunt weird spot on the back of my head) and tried to be nice to the end. That's all I can say that was good. Maybe others had a better experience, but be aware that they give a free service for following/liking on IG and/or posting on Yelp. I wanted to give a good review but I can't in good conscience and chose to write this after coming home because I just really wanted to leave ASAP after my experience. For the sake of this sad tale, I'm breaking it down into 2 treatment situations. 1ST Request: MUSHROOM BROWN. Result: Orangey brassy blond. Details: I booked an appt for today (1/2) to treat myself after not cutting or coloring it for some time (so it was virgin black hair). I simply wanted a cool mushroom brown lob. I emphasized multiple times that I wanted no brassy tones and wanted to keep it cool with plans to transition to silver later. I showed multiple inspo pics and even showed a zoomed in closeup of the color I wanted. Yuna took photos of my photos and took her time painting my hair w/bleach. When she showed me a color book with a platinum, I assumed it was the strength of bleach she was doing. I told her I wanted a darker color. After my hair was washed and they brought me to the mirror and attempted to style me and send me out---I realized that WAS "cool mushroom brown" to her. It was a weird orange blond color, which looks like someone else's in Elle's reviews on Yelp (I'm reposting it here too as I wish I took a picture of my 1st result). I told her I didn't expect it so yellow and asked for a darker color. They sent me to the wash station & told me to tell them what color I wanted. I was stressed as they were talking in Korean and maybe thought I was being extra while I was trying to research with AI for quick damage control since no colorist or person was offering help or giving me suggestions. 2ND Request: DARK ASH GRAY. Result: Pink with brassy undertones and strands of brassy blond. Details: I flagged someone & I told them I wanted "dark ash gray" and gave them my inspo pic. I told them I wanted cool tones and just wanted it to be less yellow. Yuna took my phone and brought it to someone at the front (the manager/colorist?) for mixing. After they applied it, washed my hair & brought me back to the mirror, they then told me they used purple and the manager/colorist person said (rather impatiently) that my picture had lavender (heck no, it's literally ash gray and caption on photo says ash gray) and they chose that color to cancel out my brassy hair (which again, I NEVER asked for!). I don't know much about color, but wouldn't non-red tones like blue have been a better choice? Ironically, after adding pink, my hair looked closer to the cool mushroom ash brown I initially wanted, but it still had brassy undertones. I was upset but just waited for them to dry and style my hair. When I got to the restroom to look, there were clearly still patches of bleached hair including a huge strand by my right ear with a brassy undertone all over my head. I pointed it out to Yuna at checkout and honestly told her I wasn't happy. Even she looked a bit shocked when I pulled out the bleached strand by my ear and showed it to her. She told me I could come back again in a week and she'd help me fix it for free. Right now, I'm still quite upset that I paid so much for something that was supposed to be a treat. Yuna did her best to be nice the whole time, but the results were not what I wanted. I wanted to avoid red and avoid brassiness and I ended up with both and splotchy bleached hair. Perhaps if you're Korean and can communicate better or want something simpler, you'll get better results, but I was not happy. I really wanted to like this place, I did.
