Fantastic service! Very homey and comfortable atmosphere. Shop is on the smaller side but that is enough for a quick walk in. Took my boyfriend here for a haircut and Skylar did a great job! He really took his time to make sure my partner's hair fit his head well and delivered exactly on what he asked for. Also was very kind and asked many questions throughout to ensure that he was getting the haircut he wanted. There is also a shop crow. They cut hair, their prices are relatively competitive and they do a good job. Somehow, though, they gave this impression that they need to be talking...at all times...to whoever...about anything. They asked me how my day was, if I'm from the area, etc. I answered and tried to strike up conversation but it usually ended when they'd said something slightly crazy. Here's an example of one such instance: BARBER 1: "So, you from the area?" ME: "No, I'm actually here temporarily for work." BARBER 1: "Oh yeah? What do you do?" ME: "I basically do computer programming." BARBER 1: "Computers, huh? My friend and I tried to put together a porn site a while back." ME: "Really..." BARBER 2: "You still working on that?" BARBER 1: *laughs* "Yeah. It's going ok. Not making any money on it yet, but..." That particular conversation went on without much more from me or the only other customer than a chuckle here or there. Don't get me wrong, I'm not against the guy telling us about his business ventures...but going from "Are you from the area?" to "I run a porn site" seems a bit of a stretch. It's just what you expect from a barber shop - crazy crap on the wall, a everyman barber with a crude sense of humor, and less than $20 for a haircut. All these things are why I keep coming back, even though I'm living in Corona these days. I started getting my hair cut by Theo when I lived in the apartments south on Placentia. He's a good guy to talk to, always friendly. Definitely a guy's barber shop though, with lots of cursing, so don't bring your kids in if you don't want them learning new words. Again, it's this sort of atmosphere that makes the place appealing, at least to us guys. At the time of writing, Theo (the owner) is the only barber, and he's there most days, but you'll want to call ahead to make sure he's not on lunch or messing with electronics in the back when nobody's in the chair. If you see his big-ass truck in the parking lot, chance s are he's in the shop somewhere. He's got his number posted on the window if you don't see him in front or the door's locked. If you like the things you've read in my review, check him out. He gives good haircuts and he's a straight shooter. Cash only though, so get some cash back from the local Target if you only have a card. read more

It was near closing time for everyone else (5pm) so they wouldn't take me in. Looked in Yelp and saw this place closed at 7pm. (it actually doesn't, it's more special request). I had to call the number on the door to ask if he could give me a cut right now and he gladly did after his break. Theo is the owner and the only person working here I believe. There's only 1 chair. The atmosphere is one of the coolest atmospheres I've ever seen at a barbershop. There's tons of collectibles around the shop, military ranking badges, and lots of other cool stuff. Seems he's some sort of collector after chatting with him. He had to give a cut to his buddy that made an appointment before me, which was fine since he was the only barber that was "open" at the time. After talking to his buddy, I found out he's been around Placentia for 15 years now. This barber is a true gem of Placentia. He's very talkative, always has something to talk about. If you're new he really tries to get to know you. When I first sat down, he immediately pointed out that the last barber did a terrible job. Explained to me what was wrong, something the average joe like me never really thought about. Pointed out my trim was uneven (i did notice this before) and that my part was actually slanted. I got a simple cut. 1 fade with a trim. Theo gave me the best haircut I've ever had. No stray hairs, the trim was even, the part was perfect, the fade was perfect. He told me if I wanted any adjustments to come in within 3 days. read more

I literally came in last week and sat down and waited for almost two hours only to get denied because the barber told me he doesn't do razor lines of any kind into hairstyles nor does he do facial hair trims but I never asked for a facial hair trim? The guy seemed nice except the fact that I kept hearing old school heterosexual arrogance between men trying to be alpha towards each other in attempts of proving ones superiority by seeing who can talk the most the shit and using the most "f" bombs. It's a pretty unprofessional environment as far as dialogue goes but I guess this is what locals act like in a conservative ass town where it's normal to talk shit to your fellow customers & allies. I mean I did laugh a few times but I also felt a little uncomfortable plus I pretty pissed that i got turned away after dude couldn't even do a simple thing because he didn't feel confident! Lmao, if you can't do certain things man, have fun losing money because I was gonna tip your ass solidly. I don't care, went to Real Barbers and got the haircut of my life who actually know how to diversify their techniques when it comes to cutting hair unlike this small ass barbershop. Don't go here if you want an actual REAL haircut that includes lines or anything out of the ordinary. They should rename this place, super cuts. I took my seat and he came over after a quick test of the Tesla coil and started asking a bunch of questions about how I wanted my hair to be cut.
