TIL this day it annoys me looking at my wedding photos as my cake from here was missing the cake stand/base the day of my wedding! It was supposed to be a bling stand that would make the cake look larger and elevated. It was so small! Elite Cake must be where all the "Yelp Elites" go haha. Anyway, It was such an easy process for me. I just gave them a call about needing a cake in 3 days time and they executed. Not many places would have done this for me as I was calling around. You usually need at least a week notice because it is a custom cake they would need all the supplies to get it done and most places are completely booked. After all, every party needs a cake. My occasion was a birthday. They told me to send them a picture of what I wanted and they would implement it as best they can. They give you a price and you can choose to accept or decline. You can also walk in and fill out paperwork. I kinda wish I did that because the cake decorator, Beatriz was so personable. Her personality would shock this world because she is really outgoing. All I'm saying is I wouldn't have mind coming in and spending more face to face time instead of email. Also, the perks of coming in is that you get to try the different flavor cakes first. The tiers werent gold, there was no signage for the guests and the table wasnt decorated with the green garland either. I emailed Beatriz on 1/25 and have yet and probably won't hear from her ... ever. After spending over $1000 for this sham, this is truly disappointing. So brides GO ELSEWHERE!! If I could give zero stars I would. I was extremely disappointed. We were returning customers after a great experience with our wedding cake. This Time we ordered cake pops for our baby shower. We gave a few examples of what we liked and Beatriz said she would give us an idea of what she was thinking based on our inspiration pictures. It was like pulling teeth just to get a response from her. Finally, three days before the shower I was able to get her on the phone. She said they would be exactly like the 3 favorite pictures we sent. I was surprised that she wasn't going to come up with her own artistic vision and go over that with me. But trusted she was going to do what she said. When we got the cake pops they were not remotely close to the vision and inspiration we sent. It was extremely disappointing. Not only that, but a last minute change of pick up time put a wrench in our set up for the shower the morning of. We accommodated after she said "we don't have to pick them up if we don't want them." When we called to address this, Beatriz was extremely rude. Told me that I was not happy with the order the minute I ordered them, which makes no sense. We were so excited to use her and give repeat business. And trusted she would come up with something adorable. The pops were not "ugly", but not at all what we talked about. I could've gone to Publix or Starbucks for the type of product we received. Their lack of communication and customer service was extremely disappointing. We will not be returning. read more

I called about a dozen places looking for a yellow, vanilla cake with chocolate icing (an "old school" cake that Granddaddy requested for his birthday, on short notice). When I reached the owners of Elite Cake, they made his birthday wish come true without hesitation. Took the custom order, and even added a sweet decorated message for us. Every birthday is special, but after surviving a pandemic, beating cancer, and just getting through life in general in the last few years, this 88th birthday was truly a blessing for my Granddaddy and our family. Elite Cake is a local, family-owned business that has been in operation since the 1920's-- and 100 years later they are still going out of their way to make a difference for local families like mine. To top it off, the cake was delicious! Fresh, real ingredients that I was happy to serve to my Granddaddy, all the way down to the tiniest of us (age 1). Have you ever been to a wedding and said, "WOW, that cake tastes amazing!!"? Neither had I... until my own wedding! My new husband, Bud, and I are in the wedding/event business ourselves (Let's Party! DJs), and we planned our entire celebration in 72 hours! That said, we had a little help from our friends to put it all together. Our dear friend, Andrea of Incredible Events, offered to find us a cake... And this is, of course, where Elite Cake Creations comes into the mix. The cake looked beautiful, and miraculously matched our color scheme perfectly with its silvery white icing and delicate, fondant flowers you'd swear were real. When we first cut into it, we didn't even know what flavor it would be. The flavor soon revealed itself to be: HEAVEN! We ate the entire piece we cut, standing there, oohing and ahhing over its deliciousness. The icing was real icing, the cake itself moist and fresh. I think it was lemon-buttercream? Slightly citrusy and definitely dreamy. A week later, our guests are STILL talking about our phenomenal cake! So excited for this because we had tried their cake previously at the venue we chose, was told in person I could bring my family members and even during the reservation online I was able to add their emails and how many were attending. They called me to see if I could come in early but I live an hour and a half away told them I couldn't make it earlier but would be there at set time, was then texted saying they needed to reschedule, then sent another text saying disregard the last message. My fiancé called to make sure we were still able to come before making the drive they said yes to still come. Well I wish we never went. They didn't accommodate my party at all. In fact they only spoke directly to me (as the bride) ignored my fiancé completely. As we continued they brought out 4 bite size same cake with a slightly different variation (fillings were different) for my family to try with not enough forks I had to ask. The meeting was meant to be 60 but ended up being 10-15 and they locked up as soon as I walked out. Very unprofessional, uninviting and not accommodating. We will not be using them for our wedding. And I suggest find somewhere else. Myself, father, mother and fiancé have emailed and have been ignored. THERES A MILLION OTHER BAKERIES USE THEM. read more

I'm so happy to be working with them for my daughter's quinceanera event, and we're really excited for the finished product.. First and foremost the cake was super small. The gold base was missing which would of elevated it. When I reached out to Beatriz days after the wedding which was in may of 2021, she said there was nothing she could do but could provide a cake at no extra charge for one of my upcoming events. I was so happy when I found this place tucked away in a little plaza off of Palm Avenue and Johnson Street. They have since moved a little further away to Cooper City (off Flamingo Road before reaching Griffin Road) but I still support them from time to time. The cakes are made just how I like them. They are really delicious and I have not been able to find another bakery that makes cakes like they do and the prizes are reasonable too for what you get. I don't recommend using this vendor. First visit: I had called ahead of time to set up an appointment and asked it I needed to request any cake flavors and was told no they would have cake for us to sample. Arrived for my 11:00am appointment and the door was still locked. We had to call in order for them to open the door. The delivery boy did our appointment, didn't even turn the lights on. Brought us out 3 vanilla rum cakes: 1 with butter cream, 1 with pineapple, and 1 with coconut and I despise both pineapple and coconut. The delivery boy continued to tell us how he had them do his cake for his wedding and he loved it so much he decided to work there. Anyways I left dissatisfied and swore I would never go back. Side note: Went to a Hillcrest tasting and Elite Cake Creations were there, I tried a banana cake that was really good so I set up a 2nd appointment. Second Visit: Again when I arrived they didn't have the flavors that I requested quickly available they had to go in the back and make them and the baker said "the person that was supposed to make them never did" we met with what I assume to be the owner and the cake flavors were pretty good but they had so many fillings and cake flavors I wanted to try some more so I had to set up a third appointment because they have to make them "ahead of time". Also, during my appointment there was a roach crawling on the floor. Less than appetizing. I didn't make a deposit on the cake that day. Third Visit: When I arrived the cakes were no prepared for me. A new employee came out and told me that "no one had any knowledge of my appointment or my cake requests" he also told me that the lady was on her way to meet me. They brought me out a strawberry cake which was supposed to be a strawberry mousse and when I told them I had not requested this they told me they could not read the request form. Aggravated at this being the 3rd time of coming to Elite Cakes and not having cakes I requested ready for me to taste at my appointment time and that they were completely clueless of my order, I left outraged. Phone Call to the Manager: I spoke with the owner's daughter, she seemed less than apologetic and told me that they have the filling prepared but they don't put the samples together in case people don't show up. Excuse my french, but that is bullsh*t. On 3 different occasions they didn't have cake sample prepared for me, and if that is the case why couldn't I taste different flavors when I came on the 2nd visit, if they are just whipping them up in minutes. Conclusion: I would not rely on this company to deliver a cake to my wedding. Read the comment before. I would be mortified if that happened on my wedding day. It's a family run business and the cakes are pretty good. I went in a month before my baby shower to order a cake. The young lady that took my order was nice but taking orders wasn't her job but she helped me anyways bc the person who took the order wasn't there. I went home and looked at the receipt and wasn't sure of it so I went back to get the cake and cupcakes exactly how I wanted them for my shower. The cake and cupcakes were delicious. The only issue I had was when my husband went to pick up the cake and cupcakes after showing them the receipt all they gave him was the cake and he didn't bother looking to make sure we were not missing anything. He arrives to my baby shower with only the cake. I call the business and they ended up delivering the cupcakes 3 hours later bc their delivery guy was busy delivering other cakes.
