We were able to have a fairly priced and delicious hot meal that was still served fast enough to get us back to work on time. The location was very clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and were all smiling even when talking amongst themselves behind the counter. After ordering at the counter, our food was served quickly. I had the lentil soup which was filling with rich flavors from the sausages and herbs in it. It was not thick and heavy and so I still had room for the creamy, cheesy empanadas. The empanada crusts were beautiful and flaky. My friend had the steak sandwich and fries. The steak was flavorful and tender and it had an egg on top. I stumbled upon this place while waiting for my hair appt. Tuck between a Pilates studio, Steve's pizza and other businesses around it- you almost miss it. The inside looks small, but it's really not, there is also seating outside. The first thing you notice is the abundance of Argentinian empanadas with all sorts of flavors to choose from. Don't let the empanadas distract you- their coffee is just as good, especially the Dulce de leche latte. I've had it hot and cold but I prefer it hot. My favorite empanada is the short rib but the chicken verdeo is just as good. My husband had the chicken curry empanada (like I said lots of flavors to choose from) and he really liked it. This second visit I wasn't sure what to get but the Barista/ cashier gave us pointers on which empanadas to go with. My favorite is the short rib but I also really enjoy the caprese & the ham & cheese. The fresh ingredients really make these things stand out in an area that has plenty of empanadas around. It's chocolatey, rich, moist & big enough to share between 2 people. They offer boxes that contain mini versions of their pastries so you can try multiple without committing to an entire item. The dining area is small but there's some tables inside & a couple outside. The employees are always very nice but service is definitely slow when there's a crowd. I'm so happy to have finally made it to this small, local store offering up some delicious Argentinian empanadas and other treats. The hardest thing was trying to decide which of the empanadas to try, they all sounded and looked delicious. They have some unique flavors that I've never seen elsewhere such as mushroom, prosciutto and Brie, short rib, sweet corn, and cheeseburger. They also serve mini quiche, croissant sandwiches, soup, salads, flatbreads, egg's Benedict, breakfast and brunch all day. They offer several different types of coffees both hot and cold and the iced mocha latte I had tasted great. There are a few tables if you choose to eat in and the place is spotless. Actually was going to grab a slice of pizza next door and noticed the A Family authentic Argentinian empanada shop. My brow began to sweat having to decide between pizza or empanadas but my aching gut told me to choose the empanada for a pre-lunch snack. The sidewalk business sign promote students by offering a 10% discount with campus ID which is commendable. Loved the light wooden flooring and well matched seating which had a beachy relaxed ambiance. The menu says "The Best Empanadas" and chose the recommended Spinach & Mozzarella Empanada for $4.50 which the employee quickly heated up. Sat at one of the comfy chairs accented with throw pillows and folded blankets. Placed my golden flaky treat on the round marble table in front of me. The weight of the oddly dense circular empanada had a light crusted char and was unexpected. Each bite allowed the melted cheese to ooze out and the dark green spinach showed it's face. Excellent, Excellent, Excellent. The gender neutral bathroom had a small baby and lady design on the front door so was hesitant and slightly confused. The room was very clean and provided a baby changing table with a nice tan colored wood and wicker cabinet. After seeing this place pop up on Yelp a few times, I finally decided to check it out. It's a charming, authentic Argentinian spot -- family-run and full of warmth. The setup is inviting, with a few different areas where you can sit back, relax, and enjoy good company over some classic dishes. I tried the beef and short rib empanadas -- both were solid, but the beef definitely stood out more for me. The flavors were good, though I was hoping for something that truly set them apart from what I could find elsewhere. Still, the quality and freshness are there, and you can tell they care about what they serve. I really wanted to love this visit because I've had such a great experience here before. I first came late last year and absolutely loved it -- the food was delicious, the portions were generous, and I was happy enough with the experience to bring a friend back. This past Friday, I dined in and ordered the same steak togo. While it tasted good, when you add salt and pepper. The portion was noticeably smaller than before. It honestly looked like i received a cut down version of a 3-4 ounce piece of steak, and at $23.99, it just didn't feel worth the price. I left feeling not fully satisfied, which was disappointing considering how great it used to be. That same day, I ordered the same meal to-go along with three empanadas. Again, the portions didn't match what I remember from my previous visit. I received the wrong order on one empanada. I was highly upset because I had to throw it away since it was only cheese inside. This is a good mom-and-pop spot, and I truly want to see them succeed. The food still tastes good but not the same flavoring as my previous visits -- if portion sizes change, especially at the current price point. It may leave customers feeling like they're not getting the value they once did. I hope they reconsider whatever adjustments were made, because what they were doing before worked much better. Each time we visited we really enjoyed our coffee and empenadas. For take out, it seems they can't get it quite right yet. The quiche came burned. The plain croissant had a sugar coating even though I bought a plain one. The guava jelly was marmelade and had little if any guava flavor. Passed this spot several times when I was waiting for it to open. Been twice since it opened and I remember how tasty their empanadas are. The space is very bright and clean. Everything is displayed so beautifully and my OCD is happy with the empanada display case! They have so many different flavored empanadas it's actually difficult to decide which to try. So we've only had the traditional beef and chicken curry empanadas so far. I have to say this spot might be one of my favorite empanadas to date. They heat up the empanadas for you and the crust is soft and yet flaky like a good pastry should be! The flavors of the traditional beef is wow! So much flavor, definitely not bland. This was next to the gym, so I decided to get my energy back by getting myself a couple of comfort food items. I'm a fan of savory pastries, so this was winning my heart already. I got their empanada of the day, which was the chicken curry. This was tasty and the meat was filling the pastry, not half assed, which I like. The other one was the prosciutto, mushroom and brie. It was very salty, which I don't mind, because the prosciutto can be that despite not seeing any chunks of it. I guess they melted into the brie cheese, but you can see the mushrooms. I also picked up their refreshing smoothie called the Green Power. Sweet, but it's expected since it's a mix of three fruits and one leafy ingredient. The staff seemed somewhat friendly, but more on the shy/timid side. Ambiance - it felt like a nice cozy place to sit down and chat with your friends. Oh my God for starters how can I explain the Perfection of the empanadas that you can find this place. It is a total hidden gem inside of a nondescript plaza. The restaurant is Argentinean and they have the most insane menu of gourmet and classic empanadas. Even the classic flavors like ham and cheese and chicken are something special here, but the gourmet options are the standouts! They have a pumpkin spinach and mozzarella that tastes like Trini spiced pumpkin (iykyk) and a prosciutto, mushroom and brie that is so so so good that you'll want to order it everyday. I want to have one right now just writing about it They also have traditional Argentine pastries, and a full menu including full breakfast, sandwiches and more. The coffee is also great but tiny like traditional European espresso. They have a slew of other offerings like smoothies and salads but the truth is every time i go i can't help but eat my fill of empanadas. There was a big beautiful case of empanadas and a variety of prepackaged sweet treats that looked lovely to bring to a get together. I came in looking for a little sweet treat though and the selection wasn't as large as I thought it would be. The young man behind the counter was nice but not very descript (or maybe articulate) when I asked about certain items. I went with his recommendation as he mentioned it was the closest to a guava pastry and something about being made with sweet potato. It was fairly small in size coming in at $2.50 plus tax. The taste was ok but I don't know if I'll venture back unless I'm in the mood to try their empanadas. The food on the menu was no where on display to perhaps entice a new customer who is unfamiliar with what they offer. The store looked clean and bright and was empty when I came in around 4 or 5 pm. I thought this was a furniture store at first because It looks like it from outside. But we wanted a little snack & empanadas fit the bill. We got the ham and cheese, the bacon and cheese and pepperoni & cheese. The empanadas were okay. The drink you see is a mint ginger lemonade. It tasted like blended broccoli and lemons. I was sad because I was excited about it. The service was good, it was 2 staff on a seemingly slow day and they were really nice. Best Argentine restaurant in the area! Their empanadas are mouth watering and delicious. I love their chimichurri beef empanada (so flavorful) as well as their cheese and mushroom ones. The empanadas have unique flavor combinations. Their milanesas are a giant portion and so tasty. Not to mention that the restaurant is decorated beautifully. This place just opened up and I was seeing it all over Facebook, the food look delicious so I had to stop in when I was in the area. The lady behind the counter was really nice and super helpful. I ended up getting 4 different kind of empanadas, a cheeseburger, short ribs, sweet beef and the other one I honestly don't remember. She warmed them up in the oven and brought them over to me, I paid and left. When I got home, they were still home, all of them tasted fresh and packed full of flavor.
