Nice guy. Cleaned the unit, but unable to determine the manufacturer or the fireplace malfunction. Quote of 1,200 for wrong part. Service call charge largely wasted. Custom Fireside diagnosed the problem on the phone, responded in 48 hrs, and replaced the correct part in 15 minutes. We've used this company several times...initially to clean out our dryer vent...LONG overdue...that got that done, and then we had them come out to clean and tune up our propane fireplace...they have always been great! Because our dryer vents are not something we look at often or ever at all, it's a good practice to get cleaned. It can be a fire hazard as well as compromise the function of your dryer. Luckily my neighbor had Elite scheduled to come to her house so I also made an appointment. Wow! Starting with the customer service rep in their office as well as the technician that came to my house, both were incredible! Polite, accommodating and attentive to my request, it made the entire process seamless. They communicated who would be at the house, a photo included, and technician was awesome. On Elite Fireplace website states they service & repair GAS fireplaces. They charge $375 service charge just to come to your house. (My husband suspected our gas fireplace had a gas issue) During Elites technician inspection, he did indicate we have a slight gas leak at the value. Then stated they DO NOT have a certified GAS technician to repair our fireplace. I was surprised since their website states they repair GAS fireplaces. I thought Elite could provide a complete fireplace service. I asked for another fireplace company that could repair fireplace & was told they can't help. BE FOR WARNED! You won't get your $375 back!! Unfortunately, when I returned home I was told about the extremely poor and condescending attitude she received from Scott. This attitude continued throughout the inspection and would not clearly answering the questions asked of him. When it came to invoicing, he was told we booked the appointment through YELP and we were to get a discount. However, when the invoice came it didn't have the discount included. He was told again that there should be a discount, this time hem did include it. The reason I gave 2 stars was the office staff was fine and kept me informed about the technician's arrival.
