Spent a long time researching which flooring to get to replace a 25 year old laminate in our kitchen. Found one by Karndean which seemed perfect. Elite was listed on their website as a local dealer and they got excellent reviews on yelp. So we went to the store and met with Robert. He spent good time with us to show us lots of things to consider. We wanted a larger sample of the one from karndean which he ordered along with a couple others. Sample came within a week and we took it home and made our choice to go with our original pick. Robert came out and measured and gave me a really good quote for the product and installation. Normally I shop around and did get one other quote, but I let AI do some research for me and I know his price was excellent and the service we got from him made it the easy choice. We needed to have transition pieces to match our vynyl laminate wood plank in the adjoining room that this would butt up against, and were having trouble finding that. Robert asked for us to bring in a sample which we had of our planking and he actually had a trim piece made to order with a color match that worked perfectly. So lots of prep work on his part to make sure it would all go well. The installation was scheduled within a week of getting the trim piece in. It was a 4 man install team and the lead guy ( forgetting his name) was really great. You could tell he knew his stuff and we were being fussy customers. My wife is very keen to make sure that patterns of the terrazzo floor didnt look repeated or in a weird pattern so he happily worked with her to move pieces around till she was happy. He cut certain ones and not others based on what she wanted and then marked them in with tape and order number so the guys knew where it all went together like a puzzle with a guide. Im sure they can do a good job without the micro managing but its also good to know they were happy to have us be involved and had no attitude about it (which I have gotten from some other contractors). so thats a big plus in my book. They were really good on the old sub floor prep, cleaning , sanding and putting a new thin coat layer on the entryway area which had plywood so make sure it was all level. They did this the right way and you could tell. And the new floor is SO much quieter than the old one and it doesnt have any extra backing. Turned out to be a great choice. The whole install job came out perfect. They got new oak 1/4 round to match our oak cabinets and did perfect measurements, cutting, sanding and sealing on them all. Guys were super clean during and after as it took an an extra 1/2 day to do. But all really turned out fantastic. So glad to have a place that is local, and knows what they are doing and the prices seemed in good and line with what I was looking for. highly recommend you check them out for your flooring needs and they do countertops too. read more

I have to admit I wasn't sure what to expect when I began the project. The flooring at the house was quite worn in places and had the older orangey finish that was popular in yesteryear. My partner and I needed to find out if the original oak floors hidden beneath old wall-to-wall carpeting in this 1913 Craftsman house could be restored to anything like their original quality and beauty. Pulling up sections of carpet revealed stains, rot, shrinkage, nail heads and the promise of more daunting issues to come. But Elite's owner Robert and his son Seth sent over a real flooring expert. Eldon assessed the situation and was confident he could do a good restoration. He also was available to cover old linoleum in the kitchen and laundry room with new flooring of our choice from the Elite showroom. I needed to update a 1920's Spanish-style duplex with original flooring in the living room, dining room and hallway. Most of the floors were in good shape. But some of them were beaten up. I was torn between 1) replacing the original wood floors with faux wood vinyl, or 2) refinishing the original floors which would include replacing/repairing the areas that were beaten up. In addition I wanted new baseboards. I want it come out nicely. But there's also a budget. So I used Yelp to get some the flooring estimates. To my surprise the estimates I got back were all over the map in what they recommended. Most of the estimates were to install faux wood vinyl because, according to them, faux wood is far less expensive than repairing/refinishing the original hard wood floors. But Robert, the owner at Elite Flooring recommended repairing and refinishing the original hardwood floors instead. His cost was less than what others charged to install faux wood vinyl. Robert said he could install faux wood vinyl instead, but the cost would be higher and so he didn't recommend that. This is from someone who installs lots of faux wood flooring. Which I saw from other Yelp reviewers. In addition Robert's very good price included using the stain color of my choice. Along with three coats over the stain. Needless to say, Elite Flooring got the job! I then visited Elite Flooring's retail store where Bob (who is not the same person as Robert the owner) showed me some of the many stain colors from which I could pick. I then decided to have Elite Flooring also replace the baseboards in the bedroom and the kitchen, even though both the bedroom and the kitchen had old no-name faux wood vinyl flooring. While remodeling the kitchen, I realized that some of the kitchen's vinyl boards probably should be replaced, but that most of the vinyl flooring is perfectly fine as is. So I took a piece of the vinyl floor board that has been loosened during my kitchen remodel to the Elite Flooring store and showed it to Bob (again not the same person as Robert ). Bob then looked through his stock to match it to find a match in the vinyl wood product they currently carry. The match looked good and when the Elite Flooring work crew later installed it in my kitchen, I couldn't tell the difference between the original vinyl flooring and the new pieces his crew installed. Another win for Elite. (see picture below) Jose was in charge of the Elite Flooring work crew. When the crew arrived to repair and refinish the original hardwood in the living room dining room and hallway, I asked Jose if he would mind looking at the carpeted closet in the bedroom. I wasn't sure if Elite Flooring could refinish the hardwood in the closet under the old carpet. Or if it was too far gone. Jose removed the carpet, and said the original hardwood flooring under the carpet was in good enough shape that it could be refinished to match the refinished hardwood in the other rooms. Which I then authorized him to do. I admit to wondering how the refinished original wood in the bedroom closet would look next to the bedroom's gray faux wood vinyl flooring. Fortunately to my pleasant surprise, it turned out quite good, in my opinion. (see picture) Bottom line for me is everything Elite Flooring did looks great. Regarding the price, as I mentioned earlier, their initial price was excellent. But more than just the initial price being excellent, I found that when I added on to the original work before starting the job, the additional work was priced pretty much as competitively as the original job. Wasted our time. We came there for laminated flooring project. After explaining us 15 min about the options, he suggested that earliest installation time will be 4 months into the future!! What a waste of our time. We dealt with many professionals and usually wait 1-2 weeks before they perform the work. But if you want us to wait 4 months then that's a point you need to mention before you waste 15 min of our life- since that's probably a dealbreaker for many people. When we asked why he didn't mention it before he laughed rudely saying "I'm very busy person" without a hint of apology. So maybe this place is a good fit if you have a project you plan to do in about 6 months with a rude manager. Otherwise- avoid. read more

Bob Sanchez was very willing to help me pick, order & setup the install date for the replacement flooring I needed for my mom's rental unit bathroom in Culver City. I live in Washington State & Bob worked with me 100% over the phone & by texting. I never got to meet him in person. The flooring I wanted was special order from back east & he coordinated the delivery in less than 10-days. Prior to ordering, he sent me a picture of the flooring material to confirm it was the flooring I requested. He coordinated everything where it was totally hassle-free to me. The install date was very important cause I was going to be in-town that day visiting my mom. Bob texted me the night before verifying the time period the installers were going to arrive. We had some water damage in our kid's room, and the water damage repair people ripped up some flooring and a lot of surrounding floorboards were destroyed. We only had a small amount of extra floorboards to use, and we were trying to avoid having to redo the whole house and buy new flooring.
