This is an honest review of Dr. Dhokal and Elite Health. I've been suffering from scoliosis since I was younger and have always done at home stretches and workouts but as I got a little older I wanted to seek professional help. I tried a couple chiropractors about a year ago and I just wasn't receiving personalized care and felt like I was getting adjustment and that's it. I didnt know much about chiropractic and thought "maybe this is all they got?", and proceeded to cancel my monthly membership. Next thing I tried was acupuncture and even though they were nice people, I still felt I wasn't getting with a solution or at least a plan towards correction, so yet again I just quit going. Fast forward a year and sustaining a shoulder injury I decide to give chiropractic one more go per recommendation from a friend who also goes to Dr. Dhokal. Was greeted by a friendly receptionist in a nice facility in downtown and waited to see the doctor. Dr. Dhokal is amazing and completely changed my mind about chiropractics and the possibilities of real patient care. He listened to everything I had to say and my concerns. He walked me through treatment options and it just really felt like he was listening to me and that my pain/concerns really meant something to him. His adjustment was exactly what I needed due to some lower back stress and he worked on my shoulder to loosen it up. I felt 1000% better on my first visit! I felt like I was actually in a place where I felt they wanted the best for my health and wasn't just trying to do a quick adjustment for some quick cash. My husband and I just went to Elite Health Practice for the first time, and left for the last time. We live right up the street, and my husband likes to get regular adjustments and since we're new to the area, we don't have a go-to chiropractor yet. We walked in, the receptionist didn't greet us. She couldn't be bothered to look up from her stapling task. We looked at the price list, my husband asked what kind of adjustments the Dr. specializes in/what techniques he uses. She looked at us like we were stupid and replied with "i don't know. He does all kinds". So my husband said, "okay I guess I'll look online to find out more info before making an appointment then". She said "ok bye". She was EXTREMELY condescending and rude. I'm not sure what her issue is, but I am SHOCKED that she still has a job and I'm very surprised that someone would hire someone so rude and someone with zero people skills to greet potential new customers and existing customers! We will NOT be back. You guys really should hire a friendly, helpful receptionist who is happy to see new people. As business owners ourselves, that was utterly baffling. Fantastic! I moved to San Diego a year ago and needed to find a chiropractor out here. I chose elite health initially because they're located only 3 blocks from my office. After my first visit I knew this was the right place for me. Dr. Dhokal is extremely knowledgeable and knows how to adjust his skills to your body type. Just came here for the first time, and Dr. Dhokal was wonderful. He addressed all of my concerns and made sure I really understood what he was doing and why. I have been to several chiropractors over the years, and he made me feel the most at ease. I teach group fitness at the gym down the street and have a reoccurring hip flexor/groin problem that won't seem to get better. I came to him because it has been so painful I have been unable to work. He did a whole adjustment, and then took some time to do some work on just the area that was in pain. I am excited to continue to go to Dr. Dhokal, which is not something I normally say about doctors. I'm glad I can finally say I am getting this reoccurring issue finally resolved. What can I say? He is a friendly, no-nonsense and very affordable downtown chiropractor. He has a flexible schedule and is quick to respond to appointment requests. When I first went to see him I didn't have a ton of energy and had some issues with my neck movement. I have since been going twice and month and I feel great! Good thing is if your feeling some pain and can't wait until your next appointment he is very accommodating to fit you in and work around your schedule. I updated my review to 5 starts from 1 because they called me to rectify the error. I was booked an appointment the following day with a discount. The massage was very good and the practice was very pleasant, clean and professional. I will use them again. -- This 1 star could have been avoided, which makes this situation even more frustrating! I called to make an appointment and told them I was pregnant. The receptionist put me on hold, and then confirmed they did do pre natal massages. I turn up the next day and the therapist told me that she is not qualified for this. She said she did not want to give me a massage and waist my time and money! I said, that the practice already waited my time, and I'm self employed so also my money. Now, mistakes happen, I get that. HOWEVER, I would probably not be leaving a 1 star if they had of offered to re arrange my appointment with a discount for their error. But this did not happen and so I now feel I should leave a review to vent. If the owner reads this, maybe you can learn how to handle and rectify practice errors and avoid bad rev . I gave a 5 star review to forever21 because they handle an error well. Like I said. Mistakes happen, but how you handle them is still part of your customers service responsibility. Where do I start... Dr. D is wonderful! I had been dealing with sciatica and a herniated disc for over 3 months.
