OPTIC CUT/SLIDE MILLING BEWARE!!!…read more I took my gen 5 Glock 26 slide to Glockmeister for their optic cut service. I brought my optic in to ensure that the correct cut would be made and it would fit before dropping it off for service. I received a call exactly a week after I dropped off my slide letting me know that it was ready for pickup. I also had a compensator installed at the time of pickup as well as the optic being attached without being shown the actual work done. I was so focused on the compensator and over all look of the build as a whole, that I did not notice the big gap between the slide and the optic until I had gotten home and noticed you could see the screw as well as the blue loctite in a picture I had taken. I immediately drove back to the store and informed the employee of the issue, to which he instantly got upset and started raising his voice. He began trying to gaslight me into thinking there was nothing wrong with the cut at all and that "sometimes that happens with custom work". When I brought up the fact that the gap is bigger on one side and the optic is crooked, he claimed it was not crooked and there was nothing wrong with it as he installed it himself and didn't see anything, refusing to acknowledge or address the issue. I walked out at that point and decided to get a second opinion from Southwest Precision Arms the next day after being referred to them by a friend. They removed the optic for me and were able to show and explain just how bad the work done by Glockmeister actually was. According to them, it was the worst cut they had seen in the past 10 years of the business and that my slide was ruined. The cut was made way too deep, causing the screw hole nearest the extractor to only have maybe a thread and a half at most before actually hitting the extractor. There was also a strip of even more material removed than the already too deep cut itself in the very back, causing the optic to never be able to make full contact/sit flush even if it did fit correctly. Upon receiving this information I drove straight back to Glockmeister to see if I could get in touch with the owner about the situation. I was met with the same employee who claimed that there was no way to get in touch with the owner as he is camping deep in the woods. I began explaining the ruined slide situation again as calm and collected as possible and was met with more aggressive behavior and complete denial or acknowledgement of anything being wrong with my slide or the cut at all. After some back and forth I was offered "like $75", then finally offered a refund if I was not happy with the work. Still no acknowledgement of any wrong doing at all. I denied the refund as this is beyond just not being happy with the work. I am now writing this review in the hopes that I can somehow get in contact with the owner to make the situation right as well as to warn others if they are thinking of getting their slide milled for an optic at Glockmeister.

We also had to wait a little while before someone was available, so having a few more staff members assisting customers during busy times would definitely help. That being said, once we were helped, Randy was exceptional. I'm new to gun ownership and interested in eventually getting a rifle for hunting, and he took the time to explain the differences between different rifles, what I should be looking for, and which options would make sense for what I wanted to do. He was patient, knowledgeable, and never made me feel silly for being new to everything. He was just as helpful with my boyfriend, letting him physically handle and compare his different options before making a decision. My boyfriend ultimately went with the Springfield Echelon 4.0C and was really happy with his choice. Despite the little bit of a wait, Randy's customer service absolutely made the experience worthwhile. He read my post over the weekend and realized it had not been resolved to their standard of business operations. We had a great discussion and Arizona Firearms stepped up and completely resolved the issue and concern. It is unfortunate that it had to be resolved in the manner that it did, BUT all is safely mended. A SHOUT OUT to Arizona Firearms for completely resolving this matter! I purchased a used Tri-Star Raptor 20ga from Arizona Firearms in late 2019 for my two pre-teen boys. Due to COVID and fire/shooting bans in Arizona, I was unable to fire this shotgun until late 2020. When I did fire the shotgun, it immediately jammed. It jammed so bad that I needed to take it into my gunsmith. My gunsmith mentioned that the internal parts were damaged and needed to be sent to Tri-Star for repairs. I shipped the gun to Tri-Star for repairs. The first phone call I received from Tri-Star was from one of its Officers of the company. I was shocked! He informed me that he personally looked at the shotgun that I sent for repairs. The shotgun was manufactured in 2013 and still contained all of the original internal parts, and they had never been replaced. He estimated that it is possible that the gun had seen several thousand rounds through it. He immediately condemned the gun and mentioned that it should never have been resold into circulation as it could possibly injure the shooter. He then asked if he could reach out to Arizona Firearms on my behalf to discuss the condition of the gun and the sale. I received a phone call back from Tri-Star. I was informed that Arizona Firearms does not bench check or test fire used firearms they purchase. They are immediately placed on the rack for sale. The manager of Arizona Firearms also asked Tri-Star to ship the gun back to them so they could look at it! Tri-Star refused by stating they could not allow this gun back into circulation and that the phone call from the officer of the manufacturer should ease their suspicions. Tri-Star asked that I reach back out to the manager of Arizona Firearms to see if they could reimburse me in some way by either a store credit or FFL transfer of a new gun. After several messages left over 2 months, I never received any contact back. In lieu of this, I contacted Tri-Star. Tri-Star immediately rectified the issue by replacing the gun with a new model at a very fair price. I cannot express how impressed and appreciative I am of Tri-Star Arms and the company officer that assisted me with this. They went completely out of their way to help a customer feel satisfied and safe with their product. I highly recommend Tri-Star Arms, their guns and their customer support. Life-long customer ahead.
