I can't say enough kind words about Elite! I had just moved back to LA as a freelancer after spending some time abroad. I cannot more highly recommend Elite Placement Group, and specifically Nathan Van Dyke, for always coming through for me when I find myself between jobs. I found Cyndi at the perfect time in my life as I wanted to leave Entertainment and find a job that allowed me more work-life balance. I explained to her that I wanted a job that was set hours, where I could leave my work at work, not stress over my workload and get paid well. She found me 2 interviews within our first conversation. I landed a job after a couple weeks that was temp to hire. I took the job! Elite provided paid sick days, which was great. Cyndi was quick to respond and handled my needs. On a few occasions I didn't receive my paychecks in the mail, but when I asked, Cyndi would wire the money directly to my account immediately. Even though Elite said 90-day trial period, it is up to the employer to decide whether to hire you on. I had to wait 60 more days, and even then, I had to bring it to their attention and push it along. Cyndi did help spread my message to the higher-ups. This place is a typical "boutique" staffing firm. First off, all these "boutique" agencies in LA have ALL the same clients. Its very incestuous. Companies want a variety of candidates, so they fish all over the place. Like most agencies, they tell you they will contact you if something comes in, but they never do, even though you see ads online. Not sure if they are real or spam. National agencies like Ajilon or Randstad are more legit. I checked in with Nathan and John and its always the same answer, "Nothing now." So either they are completely dead with business or they just did not want to bother with me, no worries! read more

I found this company after reading all of the great reviews. It seems like most people have had a good experience here and I did as well. After sending my resume I was called in for an interview, I felt really comfortable being open and honest with my recruiter (Nathan) about what type of position I was looking for and what type of position that I was NOT looking for. It seems like some reviewers are expecting regular updates from recruiters and having worked with placement agencies in the past I sort of know the drill. I checked in to remind Nathan that I am available and still looking but I didn't expect him to call me back to tell me that he got my message or to tell me that he didn't have anything for me! He contacted me every time he had something that he thought I would be interested in. I ended up temping at a handful of companies and was hired by one of the companies that I temped with. Overall Elite exceeded my expectations, everyone was friendly, down to earth and genuine. As for some of the negative reviews that have been posted, I couldn't help but notice that some of those reviews are full of spelling errors! I am no expert but I am pretty sure that agencies placing people in professional jobs weed out the people that can't spell! read more

Wow, where do I start. This post is quite late, but I met with John at Elite Placement Group in January of 2015. I am so grateful that I was able to set up an appointment to meet with this wonderful person. This was the first time I have tried to use a temp agency and it paid off! I have had trouble finding stable, full-time positions for quite a while and finally decided to try a temp agency. I applied to many different agencies, but none could help me out - except this one. Although it took a couple of weeks to finally receive a phone call, it was well worth the wait! Elite Placement Group called me and set me up with an appointment with John. He was very personable and genuine. He immediately listened to my needs and concerns. I did not know what type of position I was looking to get into, but he looked over my resume, my skills, and my abilities then paired me up with a position he felt would most benefit both myself and my future company. I've dealt with Nathan and sometimes Cyndi at Elite Placement Group for years. I've been both an employer representative and a job-seeker. I read other reviews, some of which were negative as they mentioned that they did not receive calls, and because I can only give them high praise I'd like to set the record straight. As with most agencies today, they do not call when they have nothing to say. I know as an applicant it is hard not to get uptight when you're trying so hard to find work, but as an HR person I understand that you can't call dozens or hundreds of applicants to let them know they are still in your databse but you have nothing for them right now. You'd never get anyone placed if you spent your time this way. Be assured that the team at Elite work hard to place you. If you think it through, you'll realize that's how they make money. So of course they try hard to place you. As an applicant it is my responsibility to keep make sure agencies don't forget me. I send regular e-mails to every agency I deal with so I'll stay at the top of their lists. Most of them don't respond to my reminders. But I know it works because I get calls routinely to see if I match a new opening. What sets Elite above other agencies to me is that they are more personal where other agencies treat me as part of an assembly line. They all are friendly, but Nathan actually remembers me (out of the hundreds he deals with regularly) even if we haven't spoken for months. I highly recommend Elite Placement Group. read more

My personal experience with Elite was nothing but great for me. I first contacted them in late October and they gave me updates and notices at least once a week until I was able to get a full time position. After falling victim to a series of layoffs that nearly wiped out my entire department, I was completely in the dark as to how I would make ends meet. Alas, Elite Placement Group was my saving grace. At the time of my layoff, my resume reflected a bachelors degree from UC Santa Barbara (solid institution), and limited professional experience. Up to that point, I never really had the chance to prove loyal and grow in a company, as I was laid off twice in three years during a rough economic period. My track record on paper wasn't exactly resulting in a flooding of job opportunities.
