I love being able to talk and joke about a range of things ( pun intended ). The range is clean and ran with safety as a priority. The only issue I have is my fat ass feels like I'm about to break their chairs. That's more a "me" issue though. I think I will only shoot here as I feel like family when I am there. They are always attentive. I've visited on Wednesday for Ladies Day a couple of times. There is always someone available in the shooting area for questions and concerns. That person will offer suggestions or assistance from time to time. When we visit on other days they are not "standing at the ready" in the same way, so that is definitely a benefit for ladies who are trying to get more comfortable with shooting. I'm not very experienced yet and they have been so helpful as I learn. Silly little things happen when you are trying to reload or the gun jams or something. They have really helped me build confidence. We have visited during weekdays and on weekends and it's always been a positive experience. We have not been there in the evening. I would definitely recommend Texas Legends.

The main building is large and is great for events. I wish that the restrooms were larger to accommodate more people. The large covered pavilion works great in bad weather. The shooting stations need some more TLC but I like that they change up the launching positions to mix-up the clay's trajectory from the previous year. Had my 3rd session at Big Boar with Tate today. Every time I go I learn critical defense skills…read morethat address any shortcomings I have. Tate gives advice and 'homework' that I can take back to practice at the indoor range and dry firing at home. Thanks to Big Boar I am now 100% confident in shooting with iron sights and in reactive and tactical shooting. It's a bit of a drive to get to to Big Boar but 1000% worth it. I've been shooting for 40+ years and in the last 3 months I have improved exponentially. The joy of shooting has come back to me. Before Big Boar, going to the range was kind of like a dreaded exercise session. Since taking my first session at Big Boar, shooting is fun again as well as a challenge and a self improvement, self esteem reward. I can't recommend Big Boar and Tate enough. Photos show targets from reactive shooting at 10yrds with no optics, 2 shots fired in 0.83 to 1.04 seconds. 3 months ago, I wouldn't even have had a clue or chance of doing this.

One of the throwers actually threw so badly left it hit a guy loading his thrower next to ours. Rifle range is fine but the way the range is run leaves something to be desired. Directions are limited and expected (outside of a 10 minute "range video"). Paper changes are limited to when they decide to make a call to ceasefire(roughly every 20-30mins). Also, if you're a male and have to use the bathroom, don't be caught dead inside trying to use the bathroom inside. No signs whatsoever that there's mens bathrooms outside on the range line but your expect to know that by a sign on the door that says women's. That's what you get for 50$ I suppose.

I believe it was $20 to rent a rifle, buy ammo, and then being able to switch guns if I wanted to try something else. I also learned my last time there they have a private rifle booth which I'd recommend just because you don't have to call a cease fire with everyone else before you go out to change an check on your target.

Pricing is market standard and therefore fair. The staff was always helpful and courteous. I now have my own family and live an hour north of Bullet Trap in Plano, so we typically go to another range up there. But whenever I'm visiting my Mom and brother in Garland, we go to Bullet Trap and always have an enjoyable experience.

While I was in the store, an older man working behind the counter carried on an extended conversation with another customer that involved repeated derogatory comments about Mexican Americans and American Spanish speakers. This wasn't a single offhand remark -- it went on for a noticeable amount of time, openly and unapologetically, right in front of other customers. What made it even worse was how comfortable they seemed saying it, as if they assumed everyone in the store either agreed or couldn't understand them. I understood exactly what was being said, and it created an uncomfortable, hostile environment that no customer should have to tolerate. Personal opinions have no place being broadcast from behind a retail counter, especially when they cross into ethnic or racial slander. Allowing that behavior reflects poorly on the business and its leadership. I will not be returning, and I would strongly encourage management to address this immediately.
