The tips and techniques are very helpful. I feel prepared to defend myself in a variety of real world situations. Combatives This place is doing a fantastic job in training real people to handle real world everyday threats. The instructor Justin is incredibly knowledgeable and thankfully patient with everyone. All the Team Members make you feel welcome. Also, the rest of the staff was great at answering questions and explaining not only the moves, but why we apply it. They offer a flexible training schedule. They offer multiple chances to train during the week it, even Sundays. Since I travel so much I appreciate the flexibly. It's also very refreshing to train with real people, using real everyday language that's easy to understand. I highly recommend anyone who cares about their personal safety(and their family's safety) should at least pay this place a visit. I was definitely nervous day of but Damon eased those feelings once we got started. Damon gave us so much great information regarding how to get away from dangerous situations, how to stay alert and aware of our surroundings, what could happen if I was in a bad situation - lots of hands-on training and step-by-step instructions. Damon was easy to talk to, listened intently to our questions and answered them thoroughly with real life examples. I hope I never have to use these newly acquired skills but I know if I'm ever put in a life-threatening situation, I'll be prepared. I HIGHLY recommend his class! I can't wait to take the next one!

Yes, every martial arts school out there likes to tout their particular discipline as a solution to self defense. The techniques taught at Ronin Self Defense Academy turns all of that on its head. If I have a need TODAY to learn self defense techniques, I need to learn those techniques TODAY (or as soon as possible). I'm not interested in waiting several years, wearing pajama-like uniforms, or competing in sporting events only to master techniques that may or may not work outside of a boxing ring or martial arts mat.
