I've been to the range two times now for two different shooting opportunities. Shotgun range is lack luster and the throwers need some work. One of the throwers actually threw so badly left it hit a guy loading his thrower next to ours. Rifle range is fine but the way the range is run leaves something to be desired. Directions are limited and expected (outside of a 10 minute "range video"). Paper changes are limited to when they decide to make a call to ceasefire(roughly every 20-30mins). Also, if you're a male and have to use the bathroom, don't be caught dead inside trying to use the bathroom inside. No signs whatsoever that there's mens bathrooms outside on the range line but your expect to know that by a sign on the door that says women's. That's what you get for 50$ I suppose. read more

I have been to several outdoor shooting ranges in the past and each had different recreational options. Unfortunately, my wife and I went on a rainy day to get a little practice time on a new pistol. There was a few people on the firing line shooting pistols a black power handgun and one person had a Over Under. When we came we had to register for a membership and watch a safety video on firearms safety and range rules. This is There Rules and a very good one. Since I didn't have time to purchase bulk 9mm ammo for practice we bought some Magtech FMJ ammo as they only allow for FMJ at the pistol area. The range has a area for Shotguns, Rifle and Pistols. I believe the rifle area only allows soft points or hollow points and they also rent long arms We will be back when we purchase some bulk ammo. read more

RSO started to leave, and I said to him that he really needed to speak with the owner, he not interested in speaking to the owner to explain the problem, the RSO said "don't tell me how to do my job". Found out that the owner was a first-time shooter that had just rented the gun from the range and did not really know what to do, he said they showed him a video, gave him the gun, and let him come out to the range. read more

Save your money and shoot at a range closer to you. Employees make or break your business. This is particularly true of gun ranges. No place in the game for arrogance, or ignorance. I've shot at this location occasionally for 10-15 years when I needed to quickly boresight a rifle. In those years, I've seen staff smile exactly twice. Mostly they present as miserable, unhealthy people that should be working as unarmed security at a strip mall. In the past, it was pontificating range officers that didn't know their belly from the subject matter. Today, the range was dead and it shouldn't have been a problem for two visiting, non-shooters to simply observe as I worked on a rifle. Nope. Tubby wanted $40 per person. Just absurd. No FMJ on the range "because of a high ricochet factor". I've been shooting my whole life, especially while in the military, and I've never heard something more dumb. They want you shooting hollow point 5.56 rounds instead?? Into dirt mounds? The guy we talked to was incredibly bland and just sounded miserable. They also say that your first time you shoot you have to pay $25 for a lifetime membership card. As if this range is gonna last that long anyways. They have dumb rules and ask too much money. It's not even that great of a range, it's a tiny hole in the wall underneath a city road. It's like a fat and ugly girl saying that her standard of man is a chiseled model with a six figure salary. If you are a newbie to outdoor gun ranges, you definitely should chose another place. You are completely on your own here. The only instruction you get is a 4 min video, that goes over the general Range rules for which they charge you $20. The only thing I got out of it when I could put up my target. What a ripoff. Then they charge you $20 per person, with no spectators, which I kind of get. But your bench is so tiny, a big guy Is almost shoulder to shoulder to the people beside you. I guess we should have gotten 4 benches. When both guys beside you are shooting 556 cannons, the blow back Concussion is felt 3 Benches over. They say they stop to put up new targets every 20 min, but it is very inconsistent. Our first time went only 10 min, and the next time went closer to 30. No safety glasses are provided nor ear protection, that's extra, which I find surprising it's not required. The main safety concern was that you had on a mask, which I find very ironic. You may love this place if you are seasoned professional. But if you are new and trying to just get started, this place is horrible. Our group of 4 shot 35 total rounds and got the hell out of there as quick as we could. The idiot at the door put us in the middle of to guys shooting 556 rounds. The focus here is on making money , not on making sure their customers have a satisfactory experience. I certainly will never go back. read more

I enjoy this range. The price recently increased to $25 a visit. I find that price reasonable. This is a simple outdoor range. I only shoot pistol. its great for sight adjustment and accuracy. This is not a tactical type range. No rapid firing. I get along great with the staff. They will get dead in your rear end if you do not follow the safety protocols. Which i feel is appropriate considering you could kill someone by neglecting them. Look this is a local, simple range that is open regardless of weather. This aint John Wick's training canter or a modern center with employees giving unsolicited advice and/or recommendation. You pay your range fee, follow the rules and shoot your guns. I took my son so he could confirm a zero on his deer rifle. $25 each $50 total for him to shoot three shots. It costs $10 for a year membership and then $10 each time to come and shoot. Either bring your own gun or rent theirs. I rent each time and buy the bullets and the total comes out to about $50 (with my target, ear piece, gun, ammo). The staff there are extremely n ice as well. They will give you any assistance with a reminder 'crash course' if you need help with gun instruction again. Haha. They have a rifle, pistol and shotgun range. Take your pick. This is a good facility to come to and just practice or try out weapons that you recently acquired or hand out with friends and just have a great time. I like this location for a couple reason. 1) its fairly inexpensive compared to other ranges. 2) its not as far as other ranges are in the DFW area compared to where I live. That being said, the range has to shut down often to allow people to set up targets and practice. They have a trap side, rifle, and also pistol and tactical shotgun bay to use. I can't really complain for the price you pay to target practice. I primarily come here to maintain my skills with my USP .45 and Keltec KSG mainly for memory purposes. This time we came out because my friends has several class 3 items that I wanted to test out. Make sure to bring fluids during the summer as it can get pretty hot outside here in Texas. read more

Pretty standard fare for outdoor gun ranges. 20 minute cycles from hot to cold. More than enough ranges ops, clays, rifle 50 and 100 and pistol bays. Clays are self throwers single and double. You can unbolt on the pistol bays to bore sight your rifle but not shoot. Adjust for windage; there are no side blocks. Vending and a small shop in case you're u forgot something. Bring your own clays or buy them there. Guys said they were 90 for $11. Addressing price: $15 membership card and $15 per shooter OR SPECTATORS inside the fence. Some have said range officers were pissy; they were just doing what should be done. I had a good experience but then again I know the difference between shooting in my own back yard and someone else's. Yes, you have to watch a video but whatever. They do your paperwork at the same time and it happens between patrons. The only negs are that it's on the damn tollway and they dont do fmj rifle, not even AR so unless you want to shoot premium, leave it at home. read more

The place looks like something out of a horror movie, for $50 you to get one target and a lane that looks like it was made from plywood from 1846. I have shot at tons of ranges and have never ever had such a poor experience. Id actually pay $50 to go back in time and never experience this place. If the staff reads these, maybe take some notes. CASH ONLY It cost $20 the first time and then $10 after that. Also the first time you go you will be required to watch a 14 minute safety video. The price here is the cheapest I have heard of in the metro plex. They have a pistol range, rifle range and shot gun range. The facility is nothing fancy as you can tell from pics but it is worth the price. They appeared to have plenty of safety range officers. They let you shoot for about 20 minutes then there is a cease fire. The safety range officer did a great job of making sure everyone observed the cease fire and made sure no one was near thier weapons before calling it all clear. After 20 minutes of shooting you can go look at your target and post up a new one. As stated they only take cash. Most other places charge about $25 each time so this place can not be beat. Minors are welcome you just have to pay $10 for them and they must be by your side at all times. read more

The staff here is incredibly kind and professional! I came with three friends from overseas, and didn't realize that you need to have shot a gun before to be here. They gave me the name of the instructor, John, who's amazing who could teach us how to shoot. They even called him, and luckily he was on vacation, so he and his daughter came down super soon to teach us. Everyone was incredibly professional and they answered our 1001 questions. They also didn't make us feel dumb, and they told us a lot of great information and helped us with directions as many times as we needed until we got a grip on it. They are also very big on safety, which made us feel at ease. Next time I have friends from out of town, this is the place I'll be taking them. The range is nice because it's outdoor, so that was lovely. I do wish they'd take credit cards (or any other electronic form of payment), but alas. read more

Range cycles cold every 20 min. 3 complaints: 1) The shooting lanes are too close together. In the rifle area, you will be blasted by the concussion of your shooting neighbor's gun as there are no real barriers between the lanes. Sit by an idiot with a big muzzle brake at your own risk... 2) No FMJ ammo allowed = more expensive ammo to buy/load. 3) Cash only (there is an ATM though). read more

My friend recommended this place to me and the first time I went, I was sold. Jessica C, has the cost wrong, it's $10 for a lifetime membership and $10 for an all day pass (you can come and go as you please). If it's your first time, you'll need to watch a short video on gun safety. Here's the cliff notes: Point your gun down range at all times. Don't cross the yellow line or even go close to your firearms during a cease fire. I'm a shotgun kind of guy. Shooting paper targets can be fun. Get an AR-15 and lots of fun can be had, but in all honesty, I like moving targets. GPSR has four clay pigeon throwers. Bring your shotgun, a box of shells and a box of pigeons and YEEHAW! Be aware that the thrower arm should be turned in a counterclockwise direction to recock, not clockwise! You'll get a nasty bruise. This is from experience. If you're lucky, you can have two throwers to your group and shoot at more than one target at a time. Squirrels on the rifle range do not give you the right to shoot in other people's lanes. The staff are super nice and are always available to help you out and are quick about it. One of the throwers had a broken spring and I talked to the safety officer and he got a new one lickety split. Most of the people that shoot here are very nice. More than once, we've struck up a conversation with the people next to us and I'm sure if I had asked, they would have let me shoot their shotguns and vice versa. Sure you can go to Elm Fork and shoot their 18 hole course, but that's $50 just for the "green fees", you still need to bring a box of 100 shells and a golf cart is not necessary but is recommended. I've gone 3 times and haven't ever had a problem. Parking is the only thing that is a problem. There's no paved parking lot, so be careful where you park if the ground is saturated. Bottom line: If you like to shoot at things, this is a great place to do it legally! read more

Nothing special about this outdoor shooting range. Mediocre at best. It was muddy and ruined my new running shoes. Plus with the Texas heat and humidity, it can make for a miserable time. They do have a hand gun, rifle and shot gun range. When you first arrive, you have to wait about 25 minutes before they cease fire so you put up your targets. Hubby and I's favorite shooting range because it is the only outdoor range in our area since, for me, indoor ranges tend to be stifling with heat and over whelming gunpowder smell. The staff was helpful and the requisite safety video was only five minutes long. The range is inexpensive, just only $15 per visit, but bring cash or a check with a number over 500. First timers will pay an additional $15 lifetime membership fee and the extra $0.50 to laminate your membership card is worth it. The targets are manual, so there is a very stringent cease fire rule. Cease fire is called about every 25 minutes, so many regulars mount two to four targets on the boards. A new overpass has been built over the Range and the unmarked driveway is a little hard to find. Slow down at the bottom of the overpass or you will overshoot the drive like we did. Had so much fun, will be back soon! read more
