Neko Neko is simply my place for desserts when i feel nostalgic about childhood. I spent most of my childhood in Asia and a year of my formative learning year studying abroad in Japan..so..a treat like Taiyaki really does take me back in time in my younger years. I love that Neko Neko, while not cheap, is definitely one of the more affordable places and particularly for desserts in Sawmill. I was pleasantly surprised to find a taiyaki spot in Albuquerque! Swung by for a late afternoon snack and was surprised to find a line. After finishing my taiyaki, it was clear why there's a line. Very worth the wait! They have a ton of options, I went with Passion Fruit just because I wanted a little mix between sugary and tangy. Will def be returning to try the others though. They also have lots of options for toppings, but were out of mochi when I went. Will return for that too! Their soft serve is a good mix between soft and still frozen, so it's not melting and running all over by the time you get to the end. The actual taiyaki was pretty good too! I prefer mine a little more chewy but this is great for the price and location. It's a bit hard to find once you enter Sawmill, but it's near the Keva station if that helps. read more
