Came here for a birthday lunch, and I have to say--the place has character. As you walk in, there's a huge bar area to the left, large dining room to the right ( outdoor area too ) . What I'm picturing is restaurant by day, debauchery by night--and I don't mean that in a bad way! Honestly, I'd love to come back in the evening just to see if I'm right. My mother absolutely loved her lobster ravioli, and my pasta puttanesca was exactly what I was hoping for. Even the bathrooms add to the mystique of what feels like a lively nightlife scene waiting to happen. Definitely worth checking out--no matter what time of day you're up for it. read more

Had heard a lot of positive feedback from friends. Stopped in for lunch a few days ago. Ample parking. Large business on a small strip mall recessed from rte 5. Indoor and outdoor seating. Very impressed w decor. To the left, bar and small seating area. To the right, nice-sized restaurant. Very richly appointed. Dark cocoa walls, black leather (or pleather) chairs / benches. Thermostat set at 68. Very impressed w all the different choices for appies, salads, pizza, entrees. No separate lunch / dinner menus / prices. Promptly seated. My server, Denayzha, very attentive and efficient. I opted for my old standby, Chicken Marsala. Diet Coke. Came w a salad or choice of soup. Asked for rolls. Salad arrived first. The house dressing (balsamic vinaigrette) was very good. When the entree arrived (in a tureen!), I had to size it up, walk around it, and stalk it. HUGE portion. Just as the longest journey begins with a single step, eating a large meal begins with a single bite. Then another, and another, and keep repeating. The CM was also very good. Working on the following would change my rating to a "5": for me, the Marsala sauce was just a bit too watery; the rolls seemed like a day (or two) old. Popping them in the oven for a half minute or so would definitely help. Finally, at least some of the prices in the takeout menu don't match the regular menu prices. We stopped in for lunch last week. This is an outstanding spot for anyone with gluten issues as almost all of the menu can be prepared gluten-free, including dinner rolls. As always, the food was fantastic. It was great to visit with Bert the bartender, who we hadn't seen since Algarve in Rocky Hill closed years ago. Despite being in a plaza, both the restaurant and lounge are cozy, upscale and very comfortable. We'll be looking forward to dinner at Elizabeth's the next time we visit CT. read more

Bar side. Our waiter was attentive and the food was good. But the noise level was VERY HIGH. Two patrons were bellowing like oxen at each other from across the bar every 5 minutes. It was loud enough to trigger the Apple iWatch my friend was wearing. "Warning sound pressure level reached 90db. 30 minutes at this level will cause hearing loss." That's heavy city traffic and lawn mower levels. Some places have character. Others have characters. Hopefully they aren't regulars. read more

We tried Elizabeth's for the first time last night. The food was outstanding. The Chicken Louisiana had just the right spices, and the Chicken Milanese was tender and crisp. Our waitress was very friendly, but she had too many tables to cover. I only rated 3 stars because we sat down before 6 and no one took our order until 6:30. My drink order came out wrong, and food did not come out until after 7. And getting the check took way too long. I went in for pickup on a Saturday night. I paid for the take out but when the waiter said she needed to get my change of 58cent that surprised me. I waited for 4 to 5 minutes for her to return. I ordered porkchops. The waiter explained that rice, mashed potatoes or red skin potatoes and vegetables were included along with a salad. When I opened it there was no rice ,the pork chops were cooked to long and very tough There was three rolls in a bag which were very hard. I tried to call them to inform my situation but the phone has been busy constantly for over a hour and a half. Seems as though the phone was off the hook. I have ordered before and the food was good. Great place. I eat here often. Friendly service. Large wide open bar. Food is good and they have great choices. I'd like to see an authentic paella (crispy crust bottom) but all in all their food is tasty and affordable. I have not had a bad dish here. Tyeir steak and cheese is very good and comes with fries. I give this place one stars. We have been here twice a party of ten and we were disappointed the first time we went they were having a Christmas party at 8pm and they were rushing us out the door. They also didn't tell us that the tip was already added in the check. The second time we had gone with the same party the service was even worse. This time we waited 30 minutes for our drinks and 2 hours for our food. Someone may think we waited because it was busy, no there were four other tables with maybe 5 people at the max. When we all got our food, someone asked for medium rare and it was a hockey puck. We sent it back to the kitchen and it came back almost raw. Almost all of the food is delicious, it's very unfortunate for the customer service by the OWNER himself. The man in the front claims to be the owner, but his attitude really surprised me. I recommend people to this establishment ALL of the time, even co workers dine for lunch there. The kitchen messed up on my friend's take out order twice, on the same night. When it came out wrong for the second time, my friend was very displeased and expressed how did it come out wrong for the second time, and that's when the owner blamed them for the mistake! I actually decided to come here twice this week- that's how good it was! The first time I stopped in with my mom for lunch. Rather than going off the menu, we decided to go rogue and order just meatballs and a side salad. The meat balls were the best my mom and I ever had. We have frequented a few places for meatballs, and these were the best we have had.. so flavorful and tender... the sauce was perfect not too sweet. You could tell it was not just beef, probably at least pork as well. The salads were fresh and crisp- and they make their own dressings. I had the Italian which was ok, but mom raves about her peppercorn. Of course after the great experience with the meatballs we had to take dessert home for later.... Which was the chocolate truffle marquis. So rich and decadent.... The waitress that night was so attentive and nice, couldn't have asked for better. I came back later on that week just for a pizza. I was craving pizza and my normal joint was closed. This pizza was typical Greek style but was thrilled the sauce was perfect and not sweet. The crust was good, not too thick. The bartender, Gayle, was really nice and a fast worker. She also remembered names which always impresses me. read more

First time here and we were totally impressed with the service, menu diversity, quality and the flavor of our dishes, what a treat. The owner is from Brazil thus the food takes on a Brazilian Portuguese twist. The menu offers a number of Italian favorites which are nuanced through a Brazilian/Portuguese filter that ads an interesting complexity to some of the old Italian standards. There are a number of Portuguese entrees which I am eager to try on my next visit which I hope is soon as this place delivers exceptionally good food, great service, a diverse menu in a very comfortable relaxed setting. read more

I love to support my town's restaurants, Elizabeth's had its highs and lows. Our waitress was pretty decent. But she ended up disappearing. The place wasn't even 50% at capacity. But we were already done with our meal and there was a complaint for it and she showed up saying oh you guys are still waiting for your entrees? One thing that we really did enjoy was the mozzarella sticks that my son had ordered. I ordered the Chicken Francaise with penne. The sauce was hideous. And was probably the blandest lemony flavored Chicken Francaise I've ever tasted. Also there was a film on it like it was sitting for a while. I also know that the chicken francaise is with flour and egg. But all I could taste was Bland chicken with fried egg on it which was totally disgusting. When I spoke to the owner I told him about it and he just didn't want to hear it and told me I was wrong and that it was the best chicken francaise ever. As you can see in the photo it even looks Bland and it was half cold due to the fact that it sat with a film on top of it. My son also ordered the New York strip which was super Bland and it tasted like the steak was previously frozen. They did end up taking the chicken francaise off our bill. And they did offer a free dessert, which definitely tasted like it came from a third party and tasted okay. read more

Solid Italian food from my experience. They were nice to my family and I despite my kids being super young. Food was good, service solid. Decor was ok, I'd possibly rate higher if I went in a date and could concentrate. It's a nice place from my experience for families and local Italian. Would love to try more specialty stuff. My friend and I were out and we stopped in this place. We were in jeans and I , female, were wearing a baseball hat. The greater passed us and said " oh" and proceeded to ignore us for 5 minutes. Stopped by at Elizabeth's for HH and also try the new place. Very spacious and plenty of seating. We sat at the bar. They have a nice big bar with seating all around and they serve the full menu at the bar. Friendly staff. Very good drinks and the appetizers were good too. One feedback I have is the attentiveness of the staff at the bar. The restaurant was not crowded and our wait was long and we had to call out a couple of times to the bartender weighing on us. I came here for dinner on a Sunday night with a small group to try out their dinner menu. It was 5:30pm and we were able to be seated right away. Our waitress was friendly and shared the specials as well as checked on us many times. She was also very funny! The food menu is huge, honestly a little overwhelming, but plenty of options for everyone. The meals at the table were Veal Parm, Brazilian Steak, House Paella, and a Mediterranean salad with Chicken. The house paella was a bit of a let down, the chorizo in it was delicious but everything else was a bit bland and didn't taste like much. Unfortunately this is a hard NO!!!! In the past I've loved this place. I've had corporate events and parties. I scheduled a 50th bday party in December. The tablecloths smelled so bad, as if they hadn't been washed in months. They had no white tablecloths. I went to Walmart to buy them. I paid a $300 deposit and then a $1,000. I was told my balance was $479.00. As my guests started to arrive they didn't have enough chairs. I told him 50 people that I would be paying for dinner. We had others that stopped by but did not eat and didn't sit down. At the end of the night they handed me a bill for $1300. I had several people who came and didn't sit down and didn't eat. I was annoyed and furious because the manager never came to me to discuss anything during the party or if there was an issue. I paid it because I didn't want to deal with the police. The food was ok but not great. The waitress was rude and I got robbed. This pace went down as it smells funny and the quality of the menu was not worth the price. I never got an itemized bill. The manager is a sheister. Do not book an event here. It's not worth it. Carpet is dirty, needs to be painted, etc. read more

A very big bar to sit at. I had the lobster ravioli with scallops in the tomato sauce. Oh my was it delicious. Very rich which made it hard to finish. I got it down. Beer was cold and the two ladies serving at the bar were excellent. They never stood still. read more

BROKEN GLASS in my Beer! Back in 2017, I originally gave Elizabeth's a 5 star rating. Back then, everything about it was good... Food, drinks and customer service, BUT... that was 2017, around the time they had just opened up. Fast forward to July 2019: I have since deleted that review, and replacing it with this 1 star rating for Slow Service, Bland Food and Broken Glass. My wife and I went to Elizabeth's for drinks and appetizers in the bar. The bar wasn't too crowded. In fact, nobody was sitting at the front side of the bar.... Here's why: the entire front side of the bar had messy dishes and glasses still there from people that previously ate at the bar, paid their bill, and had already left. You'd think the bartender would clean up the bar as those customers are leaving, getting ready it for new customers. It took a couple of minutes before we decided to sit down at the bar in front of one of the messy spots. The bartender came over and asked what we'd like to drink (she's completely ignoring the fact that there's dirty glasses and dishes and spills on the bar in front of us), I actually had to ask her to to take the mess away and to wipe up the spills. (Keep in mind, they weren't incredibly busy) We ordered our drinks. Her's was a Rum and coke, mine was a Hazy beer. (nothing visually wrong with the beer) So we're enjoying our drinks and conversation. As I raised my glass to finish off the last gulp of beer, my eyes focused on something IN my beer, at the bottom of the glass... I held it up for a closer inspection, and to my horror it's a large chunk of broken glass! At this point our bartender is M.I.A. (of course!) So I went to complain to a different bartender, and all she could do is apologize for the other bartenders carelessness. She did admit that they had broken a glass earlier, but never thought of checking inside the other glasses. That's not just carelessness, that's a law suit waiting to happen. Needless to say, I'm NEVER going back to Elizabeth's and I could not, in good conscience recommend place (unless you like consuming broken glass). This was our first time ordering from Elizabeth's Bar & Restaurant and it won't be the last! We had the meals delivered and although one dish's sauce spilled out into the bag, everything was delicious! Two ordered the Chicken Pesto with linguine and loved it; both are pasta snobs and remarked that the pasta was cooked perfectly. I ordered the Seafood Rice "Arroz de Marisco" without the clams, mussels, or calamari at my request. So many times restaurants ignore special requests through delivery services, so it was so nice to receive just what I ordered. It was very good and the shrimp and scallops were very fresh and delicious. The portions were so generous we all have lunch to look forward to now. The dinner rolls were the only items I can't praise, but we did order before 6, so maybe they hadn't finished baking the fresh ones. All of our meals came with large side salads too. My daughter and I ordered salads for lunch tomorrow and they were also very large. We're looking forward to trying more dishes from this restaurant. read more

My wife and I ordered two old fashions and were charged $38 for the both. That would be fine if the drinks were made with Blanton's or Eagle Rare but no the drinks we received were not even drinkable. The bartender should be embarrassed! Who serves rubbing alcohol and charges New York City prices, Elizabeth's does! The food was ok but nothing you can't get at a high school cafeteria. We decided to spontaneously have dinner here tonight. I should have just sucked it up and made dinner. The waitress was probably one of the worst waitress I have ever encountered. I think I am pretty tolerant and appreciative when it comes to eating out but she was beyond rude. She was very short and cold at the start and it just spiraled down hill from there. There was another waitress working who wasn't even our waitress but she was very friendly and even brought over some finger foods for our 3 year old who was getting antsy. That was so nice and much appreciated! Let's talk about the food. We ordered two pizzas. The works and a bbq chicken. The bbq chicken was horrible. There was no bbq sauce at all. When I asked the waitress about it, she mumbled something and walked away and then came back with a side cup of bbq sauce. I decided to take a slice of the bbq pizza apart to examine what exactly was on here and nope, no bbq sauce, just cheese, chicken and covered obnoxiously in white onions, which I have never seen on a bbq chix pizza. Usually it's smothered in bbq sauce, bacon and red onion but ok, everyone has their own way. She didn't even care when I showed her and she said "well that's just the way they make it. " our other pizza was the works and it wasn't even cooked, very soggy and just very disappointing. My husband and I just wanted to leave so we pulled out our credit card on the table to show that we wanted the bill, she swings by and just grabs our credit card without a word and no bill to show us. My husband said something and again she was very rude. Julie, was the waitress and maybe she was having a bad day, but if she was going to behave and serve like that, she would have been better off calling out for her shift. The other waitress witnessed it all and came over to help clear dishes and try to smooth it out, which was a nice effort on her part. read more

Make sure you pay close attention and look at your receipt!!! Or PAY as you GO. We were ripped off and the owner could care less!!! We were double charged $184.00 in a two hour period HIGHLY DOUBTFUL!!! Reached out to him several times and he kept promising to look up the receipt and return call but never did. Messaged him on Messenger...NO RESPONSE. Great Customer Service...NOT!!!! Gone are the days when a customer is actually cared about. Elisabeth's is amazing. Stopped in for lunch to try somewhere new and was pleasantly surprised. The interior is very nice and clean. Lunch menu is very reasonably priced with an average of around $13 a plate for pasta and grilled dishes. Food comes out and is plated beautifully. Everything tasted fresh and delicious and the portions are more than generous. Staff is very friendly. If you're looking for a nice place with top notch food for a fair price, I highly recommend Elizabeth's. read more

I was with the group of people we had our own section everybody else have gotten their meal I never received mine. I tried to rectify it with the wait person by ordering something else but that order was served raw. they didn't charge me for anything but I never ate . They did offer to make me a meal at no charge but by then my entire group was checking out doesn't do me any good then. read more

The wine and garlic sauce was horrid, I thought to myself what a interesting combo.. it wasn't. For $30.00 I would expect fresh veggies.. instead I got a good old scoop of frozen veggies... accompanied by a nice little puddle of boiled veggie water.(located on the right of plate in photo). The steak has absolutely no seasoning. Once I scrapped off the distasteful sauce the best I could, it tasted like a.. well like a boring old piece of meat. I ate the shrimp bec I needed something in my stomach or else I would of passed also. The mashed potatoes were just "ok"... I loaded them with butter from the rolls they gave us in the beginning, which incidentally is probably the best part of my meal. I subbed in a Caesar salad instead of a house.. up charge was 2$ and I didn't even get croutons in my CAESER salad! Understanding it's a Friday night.. we waited 45 min for our food.
