My prescription glasses were not working for me. I was surprised when Dr Borders showed me pictures of my retina which shows a serious issue. He asked if my previous Dr said anything about this or about my cataracts. No he didn't. He said everything was OK. Dr Borders said I am on verge of losing sight in one eye, plus I definitely need my cataracts removed. I am glad that he was truthful and direct with me. He immediately got me an appointment with a retina specialist as well as a cataract doctor. I now feel like I am on right track to save and improve my vision, thanks to Dr Borders.

I signed in and waited to be called. When I was called I quickly realized I signed in on the wrong sheet. I went over to the front desk, gave my name, insurance information and copy of prescription. I was called about 15 minutes later. I had already picked out four frames. Amber Hall asked me... what do you like or dislike about these frame? Then she said, Hey, let's go looking around and try some frames on. During that time she asked, what's your favorite color? I said, Green! We found several green frames in different styles. She spent time to help me feel comfortable! She went over frame-by-frame, she discussed all options with me, she was friendly and kind, allowing me to trust her, but ultimately she allowed me to make my own decision! Before scheduling the appointment, I specifically asked whether they accepted my insurance. I was told, without hesitation, that they did. After waiting three weeks to see the specialist, I arrived for my appointment and checked in. When I handed over my insurance card, I was informed that they did not accept my insurance. Instead, I was told I could proceed as a self-pay patient at a cost that was approximately four times what I would have paid if they had accepted my insurance. When I returned to my referring doctor's office to request another referral, I was told they had been hearing about similar experiences from other patients. Based on my experience, this felt like a bait-and-switch. I relied on the information I was given when scheduling the appointment, only to learn after waiting weeks that my insurance was not accepted. At that point, I felt pressured to either pay significantly higher out-of-network costs or delay necessary medical care by starting the referral process over.

We actually wound up paying less for BOTH pairs of glasses than I would have paid for mine alone at any other establishment in town. I got trifocals (my first year with them) and chose no-line, laser cut lenses in feather-light frames and I couldn't be happier. My son, who has always had to have very thick lenses, got to choose thinner lenses (thanks to Mr. Beeler letting us know they were, in fact, an option), as well as titanium frames and transition lenses. All together, even with all the extras, we paid far less than we would have paid anywhere else! In addition to the excellent products, the service was above and beyond what we expected as well. We had everything thoroughly explained to us and there was absolutely no pressure to upgrade at all. The wait time was much less than what we've spent in the past at other places, waiting to be served. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience. Reading the reviews is one thing, but as I sat in the waiting area (being inquisitive like I am) I spoke with many who were also waiting for their glasses. The conversations were all the same - each of these customers had been told about Expert Optical by a friend and had found their way to see Mr. Beeler and his wife personally. And the rest, as they say, is history! They became tried and true customers of an establishment that truly cares about their customers! Recently, an issue arose about my…read moresurgery that was scheduled for early the next morning, but it was closing time for the Etown office. Minutes before closing, I reached Kris in the Madison office who went above and beyond to reach Dr. Haider about my concerns. To my surprise, he instructed her to give me his cell number so he could talk to me for which I am grateful. He cleared up the issues and my surgery went well. Do not be afraid to ask questions because Dr. Haider listens intently and patiently to every concern and/or question before he answers, and I love how caring and thorough he is with his exams. I highly recommend Dr. Haider for your eye care needs.

He did procedure with laser to remove scar tissue that had formed. In just a matter of minutes he had it all taken care of and my eyes are as clear as they've ever been. Their extended warranty is a scam. They sell it to you, take your money, but don't tell you how hard it is to apply it. Seems like fraud. I'm filing a complaint with the BBB for fraudulent sales.
