Such a great spot for dinner! The food was delicious - three of us had cheeseburgers and our little guy has a grilled cheese. The burgers were hand-pattied and were very fresh. The wait was about an hour for food, but Shelby told us this up front (she's the best, btw!). There are spots on the patio to overlook the lake and a good amount of space inside. From the outside this place doesn't look like much. However you go inside and it's nearly remodeled, the bartender was very welcoming and friendly. The menu is what to expect of a small town bar and grill. Bonus, it has a patio right on the water, in a room to accommodate a large group of people with Windows all the way around looking onto the lake. We tried their Pizza and it was very good. Probably some of the best in the area knowing that I've only tried about four different places but that's about all there is. Our table had the hamburger and the patty melt as well, they were okay I wouldn't say they were anything outstanding, I would suggest that possibly a flat note the hamburger to cover the entire piece of bread for the patty melt. Though the taste was good the meat only covered just the center of the bread. I bet this place is bumping on a Friday night. Exactly what it is, and darn good at it. A great lakeside bar, good service (but understaffed, like everywhere else, so be patient) and the food is fantastic. Good burgers, good fish and chips. Their specials and soups are always great, and the fried bluegill is my favorite! The worst service I have ever experienced in my life, the waitress staff really need to be fired or at least trained. It took 45 minutes to even be acknowledged, we were about to walk out, when we tried to flag the waitress down one last time. She said she didn't see us sitting there, mind you we where a group of seven and she walked with in four feet of us repeatedly, every time she walked by she would intentionally overt her eyes and try to avoid any eye contact. Granted they where busy but at least she could of come over and took a drink order, we are patient people and would of had no problem waiting on our food. We did have another waitress step up and take our order, but she could use some training to, she spilt water all over the table and just left it, when we finally did get our food she dumped half a plate of fries on the table accidentally of course and did get more to replace them, but made no attempt to clean them up. We tipped her well anyway, but this was the first time I have ever questioned wether to leave a tip or not, I was at least grateful to not of gotten the first waitress who was just down right rude. By the way the food was adequate, it would of had to been absolutely amazing to change the tone that had been set. First time there and definitely the last, If you have never been there don't waste your time, they seem to only want to serve there local clientele. read more

Elk Lake Bar is located right on Elk Lake. Awesome view. Food was very good. Quiet residential setting. Felt like staying longer, but 2 hr drive home. read more
