Not even one star! Our car broke down yesterday, so we left it at the Elko Dodge dealership with a tow truck overnight. We left a note explaining that oil was leaking from the car and it was emitting smoke, emphasizing the urgency of the issue. When we arrived at the dealership the next morning, DANIEL at the service greeted us and seemed to mockingly inform us that none of their technicians were available to inspect the car. He also mentioned that the engine might be beyond repair due to the extensive oil leakage and casually offered to buy the car for a mere $4,500, almost jokingly. (Btw the car is dodge ram srt 10 with the viper engine) :))))))) Undeterred, we searched for a mechanic online and discovered Grease Monkey, which had received excellent reviews in Elko. Despite Daniel's discouragement, we decided to give Grease Monkey a chance. Fortunately, Brady from Grease Monkey went out of his way to come to the Dodge dealership to assess our vehicle. Following his inspection, we had our car towed to Grease Monkey, and we had an excellent experience with them. In stark contrast to our disappointing encounter at ELKO CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM, Grease Monkey delivered exceptional service. They prioritize quality service over profit, making them a highly recommended choice for car repairs. Finally, I really wanna mention this to Daniel, I hope one day you learn that you are not supposed to mock a costumer especially when they are need of your help by offering to buy their car for cheap because it broke down. I used to own a motorcycle dealership and we absolutely kissed peoples butts and still only managed three stars on yelp. Yelp sucks! It's not the business fault. I came back and asked them if they would fix it, since it never leaked before, only after they serviced. They said it was not cause by them. The worst customer service experience I've ever received, and it's not even over yet. It has been almost 4 months and I still don't have my truck back (for faulty TCM comms) and no real work has even been done on it. They have dropped the ball at every single opportunity. Worst service department in town, by far. Daniel at the service desk will lie to you, give you excuse after excuse, make fun of your family, hang up on you, refuse to call you back, and then call members of your family to avoid talking to you. I spoke to the service manager (who didn't really seem to care and has never even bothered to follow up) about everything and nothing ever changed. Stay far, far, away from these guys. read more

They do not answer the phone, do not call back, they order the wrong parts, do the job wrong, they leave residual oil dripping, over charge only to apologize and fix it after many calls. Then I asked to get reimbursed, and the tool they had working was being so rude. Only people I know that will take 6 hours to do an oil change. What a joke this company has turned out to be. Good sales force but absolutely worthless service dept. Purchased used vehicle 7 weeks ago and have had it in the shop 5 times, and now must go back again due to repair mistake by technician. Mis-diagnosis twice and repair mistakes twice now. And after all this time, still has not processed the paperwork for registration. We will be seeing if they honor they money back guarantees they so prominently display. And getting them to answer the phone is a major issue. 27 rings today before answered, and then on hold for 3 minutes, then rang another 14 times before I hung up. 2 stars because they did succeed in getting me into a car 2months ago. Wont say any names specifically because this scam was a joint effort & everyone deserves equal credit. Were vey nice/efficient/effective during the sales process. As I left the lot had to stop for gas to make it home (hmm, ok) within 24 hours the check engine/oil change light came on (uh, that was pricey) then only 4 days into summer my air conditioning didnt work made an appt took car back to the dealer 9am yesterday. Heard nothing all til 230pm (I called them) told me it hadnt been looked into. Got ahold of them again 6pm told me they need $1500 the air compressor was broken wouldnt hold refrigerant. Got a ride there paid $160 for the diagnosis. Went to 2 diff places today Both say dealership has to do the work on this. Both also said its been cracked for some time & it would have been Impossible for dealership to have not known about it at time of sale. Don't have $1500 extra dollars what I Do have is a $30,000 lawn ornament because I basicallly can't drive it until fall. I challenge anyone at Elko motors to say that I can. Try sitting in your cars even with all windows all the way down for 5 mins and see if you find it doable.. read more

January 2018: Trying to get parts for our 2010 Toyota Venza from the Elko Motors and having to deal with poorly trained employees. I call the dealer, parts dept. Girl answers the phone: Me: I need the lower air intake resonator for a 2010 Venza. Girl: Who makes Venza? Me: Uhh...Toyota. Girl: I'm not familiar with that. Do you have the VIN? Me: No, I'm driving. Girl: Did you purchase the vehicle here? Can I have your last name? Me: Yes, here's my name. Girl: It doesn't come up. Give me the make and model again. Ok, all I'm coming up with on the intake manifold is an air actuator. Is that the same thing? Me: I don't think so. I looked online at other parts suppliers and everyone calls it a resonator. It's the resonator that is after the mass air flow sensor on the air intake. Girl: Toyota calls things differently. I think you're going to have to come in so I can show you a diagram. Me: No problem, I'll be in later. Upon my arrival much later in the day, I was met by a different girl at the counter: Me: I need a lower air intake resonator for a 2010 Venza. Girl: What's a Venza? Who makes that. Me: Toyota. This is a Toyota dealership isn't it? Girl: I'm not familiar with that model. Do you have the VIN? Me: It's on the door of the car but if you show me some pics of the air intake, I can tell you what I need. Girl: Did you buy the car here? Me: Yes, but the previous girl couldn't find my name. Girl: Ok, I can look it up by part name. Me: Air intake resonator. Girl: It's not coming up. I'll look under the make and model. Ok, here's what I have for intake manifolds... Me: I never said it was on the intake manifold. It's the lower resonator on the air intake that is after the mass air flow sensor which is after the air filter. If you show me a picture of the air intake, I can tell you which one I need. Then the girl switches from the intake manifold page to the air intake page with air filters. And there it was! I pointed out the part I needed and wouldn't you know...it's called an AIR INTAKE RESONATOR!!! I sent a complaint via their website and got a reply from a manager who apologized and hoped I would return and give them another chance. However, when I called today (September 6, 2018) to get a part (ignition lock cylinder) for my Venza, the girl who answered the phone asked for a VIN. I'm sitting at my desk. I don't have the VIN. She couldn't help me any further. Why is it so difficult to get a simple part from poorly trained employees? I can easily look up parts on other websites and order from them without the hassle of needing a VIN. I understand that they use it to confirm the vehicle but not all parts require a VIN. Elko Motors won't ever get my business again. Too much of a hassle to deal with their parts department. read more

This is probably the worst place around to buy a used vehicle from. I purchased a vehicle and they claim I can't take it home because it needs a safety inspection done, why is it in the lot to be driven and purchased if it hasn't gone through your safety inspection in the first place? it takes two weeks to get the car because of a said leaking water pump and engine oil cooler gasket and having to wait for the parts. I finally get the car barely make 100 miles and the water pump looks like it's leaking and the intake valley where the oil cooler is if full of coolant! Audi uses coolant to cool the oil in the oil cooler on the 3.0 diesel. Apparently they don't fix what they say they will or the service department is just completely incompetent and can't fix things properly. I can say I won't ever purchase any other vehicles from this company or send anyone their way. fortunately I've owned my fair share of vw audi group cars and can fix this issue properly, unfortunately it involves about $700 in parts and pulling the front engine cover and intake to do the job correctly and prevent anymore coolant leaks. read more

The salesman (who's no longer there) didn't even bother showing me other cars. I went back in last year in September and was greeted by Megan. Best sales person ever! She showed me different cars in my price range, gave me her own personal opinion, and made the car buying experience MUCH nicer than my previous experience. A year into owning my car, I've used Elko Motor Company for all of my services for two reasons: 1. Toyota Care and 2. Service Writer Marni! She is hands down the easiest person to work with at Elko Motor Company. I also feel like the most important customer when I work with her. She makes picking up and dropping off my car a breeze! Driving from Sacramento to SLC, my car's alternator went out... on a Sunday morning. After staying an additional night in Elko and calling Monday morning, Cassandra and the rest of the service team was able to get the new alternator for my car from a nearby auto parts store, and get it installed in a little under three hours on the same day. I was able to leave Elko in the early afternoon and get to Salt Lake City in enough time to have dinner with my friends. One of the women working in the service department even offered to give me a ride to anywhere in Elko if I needed it. I brought my car in for maintenance every 5000 miles here because they are the only Toyota dealership in town. My car uses synthetic oil which SHOULD only be changed every 10,000 miles. However, every time I brought it in, they changed it and added fresh SYNTHETIC oil. I told them the dealership I bought the car from told me that the oil only required changing every 10,000 miles, but they insisted on changing it every 5,000. The only logical conclusion I could come up with for this unnecessary maintenance was to extort money from me. 0/10 would not recommend. Just be careful if you have to get maintenance done here. Look over what they did and ask about everything they did and why they did it. Don't fall into the their trap! Have a mechanic you trust. Or just don't go here. read more

We drove 12 hrs to buy our 2016 4Runner here and had an excellent experience with that. We just came to Elko to visit family for the holidays and had our 4Runner serviced before our drive back home. Expecting the service to be great, we were slightly disappointed to find greasy finger prints throughout our dash, jockey box, window and driver side door! Not the biggest deal, but I'd assume something like being clean before touching somebody's car would be a given! We take our car to another Toyota dealership in Southern CA and not only do they put seat covers on it, but paper floor mats in and they always wash it and vacuum the inside upon return. Elko dealership should take notes and pay closer attention to detail when it comes to customer satisfaction. read more

I took my Tundra in for recall work that I wanted done. I work 12 hour shifts so I couldn't be there to pick it up before they closed. I picked up the truck after hours and found the paperwork on the seat. I looked through the paperwork and they had done a few recall repairs but not the one I took it in for. It took three phone calls to verify that they didn't do what I took it in for. I had to take it back on my next day off and wait around two hours to get it done. When I came back they did get right on it and got it done. Not the kind of service I would expect considering I bought a Dodge 2500 diesel my tundra and two camrys from the same dealership. read more

I visited this business three times and two were NOT the best. I had oil changed twice at ELKO Motor Company on a 2010 Camry. I usually take it to SLC since DALE Whites (the previous Business) was my least favorite shop in ELKO. 1st time - Oil Changed and all was good. (Good service and Good price) 2nd time - Checked to buy a used Dodge pick-up truck. Overpriced, but no negotiations (Seller stated price was fixed) it was a 2K truck listing the "out the door price" higher than this by many hundreds. After driving the truck, scary sounds pushed me to seek other option - SLC; great trucks and better deals on used vehicles. The sales guy treated me like any other victim at 1st, but hey, that is game of used vehicle sales. 3rd time. B/O and could have been way worse. Oil changed in a 2010 camry, but noticed that I had a few ounces of oil on my driveway - fresh and from the car. After inspection (lifting the car as they are tight to get under) the discharge bolt on the oil pan was finger tight, as I could turn it. Tighten it and all was well. So, I will go with "meh..... I've experienced better" many times elsewhere. 33% success; is that good or what? read more

Arlene, the newer service provider is friendly and empathetic. She was most helpful and is likely to restore credibility to the poor service that this location was reputable for. The technicians themselves aren't of the highest caliber, no foot mats or seat covers when working on the vehicle and I wasn't notified about inside wear on two tires from a bad alignment problem (though was told about the depth tread) on the rotation. Several engine light problems that the vehicle needed a reset on, but otherwise good people. read more

The absolute worst choice I have ever made was going to elko motors. I recently bought a car, was told nothing at all was wrong with it. Didn't even have the car for 2 weeks and it broke down. The place they pawned me off to instead of trying to get me and my 3 year old niece to safety had my car for a month they didn't try and get my car back asap. I went in every few days and kept trying to talk to the owner who was convenitly never there! 2 days after I talked to bill who said my car was on the way, I got a text from the salesman who SOLD AND SENT ME THE INFO OF THE TOW PLACE asking me WHERE MY CAR WAS AND WHO TOWED IT. 2 weeks went by and I went back again asking where my car is, and it was finally there thank god!! Only good thing is I complained so much they fixed my transmission at no cost to me. Another 2 weeks go by I go in once again complaining that I have yet to hear a word about my car!! And come to find out my car has been ready for almost a week!! NO ONE CALLED TO INFORM ME. TERRIBLE COSTUMER SERVICE. aNd not to mention I almost got fired from my job because they "couldn't" give me a loaner car when I got back into town. Almost the same thing happened to my fiancées parents during the same time! Needless to say I will never buy a car from them again. I bought a used Jeep Cherokee from a different dealership. In six months I have taken my car to the service department five times and each time it is worse than when I took it in. I drop it off at 7am and typically it is not done by 5pm. I use to really enjoy taking my vehicle to Elko Motor Company but, in the last year I have been unimpressed. My car has not been fixed numerous times. Even when I have told them what is wrong with my car it has not been fixed. They have left my coolant cap off and my car overheated, now I have a major issue with my coolant after having my thermostat changed. I have left two messages that were not returned. Their customer service is also less than satisfactory. My car is with them now and I fear what will be wrong with it once I get it back. After over five hours they have no information on the status of my vehicle. read more

In the past the sales guy who sold me my car was awesome and then fired, the service manager Sam was awesome and very accommodating and made sure everything that needed to be done was done and done correctly and made sure I had a rental set up and she was let go and the cashier was a sweet heart and she was let go. Now I will never go back. Had to fight to get an appointment. first I called and no one answered then I emailed and no answer then I had to contact dodge and BBB to get a response. I had an appointment today and ended up walking out. not accommodating at all. They said I was rude when it was their service department that was rude. said I demanded a rental. I simply said that I needed a rental then was told no but we can take you some where I said ok to the rental shop so I personally could purchase a rental and was told no and they wouldn't take a look at my car till later when my appointment was at 8:30. I took my keys and said I will be going to twin. This is a discriminating company for sure. I wonder if this is how they treat cancer customers who have full warranty on their vehicles who have lives and children to pick up and appointments to go to. pretty sure your shuttle wont be a taxi service. I was having an issue with the head lights on my Dodge Challenger. First I went into the the show room and was admiring the Hellcat they have on the floor. The salesman asked if he could help me. I told him the purpose of my visit. He coldly told me to go see the service department. I happened to ask how much the Hellcat was and he looked at me with disgust like you' cant afford it why ask' attitude. So I went to the service department and asked about the issue I was having." Oh I don't know let me call someone who knows". Ok. No problem. he makes the call, hangs up, and gives me the answer." Yeah theres a way to fix the issue" ." Ok what do I do?" " I don't know the didn't go into detail". " Well that doesn't help me" I replied." Well we can go look at it her in a few mins I'm busy right now". He wasn't really much help at all.
