I used to love coming here, but i hadn't been in a while so I thought I would try it again. But this time it seems that they changed their menu and the quality of the food. I used to always get the biscuit and gravy because they had homemade biscuits, but now they have those pre made ones.. which mine had seemed like it had been sitting out for a while because of how hard it was. then the home fries weren't even cooked and they were cold. also, the place was pretty disgusting! there were so many dirty tables, a lot of food on the ground... and THE AMOUNT OF FLIES was unreal. I'm really sad this place isn't like it used to be. but i will forever remember how good the french toast is!

HUGE "Van Gogh" inspired funny face pancake. Lol

I've always liked Elks Diner. I hadn't been in quite some time but I took our kids recently and it was as good as ever. The staff it very friendly and the portions are huge! Especially the funny face pancake. It feels very much like an old school diner.

Well I am delighted! Got to Burleson early for a closing and wanted an old fashioned breakfast. Elk's Diner just popped into my view. Kind and helpful waitresses!! My main lady helped me choose the skillet which is amazing. Homemade salsa even!! Homemade biscuit too! Iced coffee to top it all off. It's like being on a mini vacation. Thank you so much for making my day!!!

Top: Elk's "Taste of Everything" Breakfast Sampler $8.49. Bottom: Texas Hash $7.79 (missing biscuit/gravy).

Mediocre food, poor service. There are too many other places to eat to go a second time.

The people who work here are wonderful. I love the service we get here. It's a great family place…read more We come here a lot because of the location. The food can be hit or miss, honestly, but we love the reuben, fries (really excellent!), grilled portabella sandwich, pancakes, and most of the breakfast items (eggs, sausage, waffles, etc.). The breakfast menu is awesome because most entrees come with two sides, and the sides are: pancakes, biscuits, toast, hash browns, breakfast potatoes, fruit (not the limp, sad fruit cup, but decent fruit), and grits. The kids adore the Mickey Mouse pancake. Personally, the turkey club and gyro sandwiches weren't great - a bit bland... So we come here a lot, but we take notes on what was good for future reference. :-D

Had the Bacado…read moreomelet (3 eggs, cheese, bacon, spinach, and tomatoes topped with avocado) and it was perfect! Everything was hot and tasted fresh. Omelet was perfectly cooked and well executed. Ordered hash browns for a side and they were great too-crispy crust surrounding perfectly cooked, soft potato inside with a slight buttery flavor. And, upgraded to a waffle for the other side; what can I say but perfection again! The waitress was friendly, very attentive, and just a pleasure. Overall great experience. It is a tad pricey but nowadays you should expect that for high quality food.

It's a cute, cozy home that is renovated into a Restaurant. It has a large deck with large umbrellas. Most of the seats were filled because the weather was so great yesterday. Most of the seats were taken inside too. There was a little weight but we were seated pretty quickly compared to the crowd. The Porch serves Breakfast all day. They also have meals for Seniors and for people that want to eat light, like my self. You can get an entree and one side. I chose the Chicken Strips and Mashed Potatoes. The Strips were crispy and a good size. They were not greasy or dry either. I really liked how they were cooked. My Potatoes were short of salt so, I added some. My Boyfriend got three pieces of Catfish, which were large in size with Okra and Mac and Cheese. He said, he enjoyed it and would come back.I tried some of his Okra, that was crispy and seasoned well. Their sweet Tea is extra sweet too. Unfortunately, there's a 4% Processing fee. Which I'm not a fan of. Overall, it was a good experience. Check them out some time. Let me know what you think.
