Rob & Linda Hart, who run the Inn & Coventry Gardens, are amazing! They were so sweet & welcoming & they made us feel right at home! The Old Town Mercantile that's inside the Inn offers a wide variety of neat gifts including some really cool vintage items. As gorgeous as the grounds are during the day you have to see them at night when their decorative lights are on. We stayed in The Blue Room & it was spacious & beautiful. Everything was clean & well stocked. With a view of the grounds & Coventry Gardens from several of the many windows & the large private bathroom with a tub & handheld shower, staying here was a real pleasure! We had no complaints about the room. The breakfast setup was a pleasant surprise. Instead of the usual hotel breakfast, we received a voucher for a restaurant in essentially the same parking lot. We ordered the breakfast we'd normally get at a restaurant, added a few extras, and paid only about $5 after using the voucher. We could have had breakfast at no additional cost if we'd kept it simpler. There are gas stations and other restaurants nearby, too. It was a comfortable, convenient stop, and we'd happily stay again.

What other surprises awaited? For the rest of our stay, we did not hang around in the morning to find out. Paid for breakfast at Lola's down the road instead. That was really good. Also - the place is lacking some motel room type amenities that you would otherwise expect to find, especially when your guests are National Park hikers. No in-room fridge or coffee maker. Housekeeping visited once during our stay. Not a bad alternative for park visitors, but little understanding and attention is being paid to the needs of their clientele.

As a Type A over-planner, I was determined not to let that happen. But the moment we arrived at Twenty Mile House, I realized I didn't have to be the control freak I usually am. The TMH team handled every detail with such calm professionalism that I was able to relax and truly enjoy the experience. From the very beginning, we were impressed. Our virtual tour with Rachel made us fall in love with the venue; Kevin and Karen worked with us to make our budget work, Joe gave us a wonderful tour when we returned after booking; and Ashleigh patiently answered all of my questions--no matter how late I sent them. The venue itself feels like something out of a storybook. Every one of our guests raved about the beautiful setting, the accommodations, the incredible staff, the ceremony site, and even the fact that there wasn't a restrictive noise ordinance. Everything exceeded our expectations. Not a day has gone by since our wedding that I haven't said, "I wish I could do it all over again." Choosing Twenty Mile House was one of the best decisions we made, and I couldn't recommend it more highly.

The DJ dropped beats, The steak dropped us, One minute we're dancing, Next minute it's "WHO HAS THE TUMS???" The wedding cake was innocent, The salad was chill, But that steak came in swinging Like it had a personal beef with the whole grill. Seventy people. SEVENTY. Out of NINETY. That's not dinner. That's a coordinated event. Grandma was vibing, Uncle was dancing, Cousin was taking pictures, Then suddenly everyone's stomach started ADVANCING. The best man gave a speech: "May you two have a lifetime of happiness." The steak gave a speech: "May you have a lifetime of REGRET." Bro got married Bro got food poisoning Bro got both in the same day. The honeymoon destination? The bathroom. The wedding hashtag? #TilDeathDoUsFart The photographer captured every moment-- the first kiss, the first dance, the bouquet toss, and approximately 70 people questioning the structural integrity of their digestive systems. The steak was medium rare. The guests were medium AWARE. The bride threw the bouquet. Nobody caught it. Everyone was too busy trying to survive. 90 guests entered. 70 were defeated. 20 remained standing, looking around like survivors at the end of a Netflix apocalypse series. The steak wasn't a meal. It was a boss fight. And somehow, we all lost. Would attend again for the lore. Would NOT attend again hungry. 0/10 intestinal experience. RIP to the 70. Gone but not forgotten. Mostly forgotten because everyone is still traumatized by the steak. Bro I went to this wedding expecting romance, happiness, and maybe a little steak, but apparently the steak had other plans 70 OUT OF 90 PEOPLE got absolutely folded by that steak. The bride said "I do," the groom said "I do," and 30 minutes later the entire wedding party was saying "I need to go" . The DJ was playing music, the cake was getting cut, and meanwhile 70 people were fighting for their lives like it was a Fortnite endgame. That steak wasn't medium rare, it was medium dangerous. The best man gave a speech about everlasting love while half the guests were contemplating everlasting regret. Bro turned a wedding into a 70-player gastrointestinal tournament. 90 people walked in, 70 got eliminated, and the remaining 20 were looking at the steak like it was a federal investigation. Worst part? The steak was actually kinda fire. Literally.
