They seem pretty female-friendly too from what I've seen in the waiting room. Just be as specific as possible with your issue. They don't seem to advertise much (the pics are mad old) since they've got a whole building/shop next to the tire place now. A good "sleeper" shop as I don't care for the chain (get 'em in, get 'em out) type. Busier in the past few years, so be a little patient and you should (hopefully) be satisfied. We were a bit confused as to who we needed to see to get the tire repaired. The guys outside were busy and the lady inside told us to go outside. So we found a gentleman who was absolutely wonderful. We showed him where the leak was and he went to working. He ended up patching the tire bc there were 2 holes close together. We went inside the office to sit and wait. Other customers were pleasant in the waiting area which is a good sign. The family bathroom has a urinal, toilet and bidet which was neat but weird at the same time. Anywho, it took about 15 minutes and we were back on the road. He made sure all lugs were secured and pressure was right on the other tires as well. An off the wall, not-so-fancy establishment but at this point I just wanted my tire to be fixed or replaced ASAP. Without someone having to convince me that they feel "I am not safe in my vehicles and should consider purchasing larger tires" on my SUV to have them ALL replaced. No Gracias! As I arrived to Mateo's I shared how I know I need to replace one for sure and if he thinks I need more I was willing to have them replaced (Which I just bought 2 a couple months ago). Mateo said I only needed that one and he had it in stock! (YAY!) I gave him my key lock and he immediately started working on my tire since it indeed needed to be changed. The work was done in about 10 minutes WOW! I was impressed! He was nice, courteous and professional. I appreciate a straight-forward business that respects a woman despite my lack on tire knowledge. The building itself isn't rundown, but by no means is the building brand new. I expect a mechanic shop to have grit to showcase they actually work and they don't mind getting dirty. I forget, every year, to do my yearly inspection. Surely enough, looking at the blue sticker in my window showcases my forgetfulness. There are a multitude of places in Houston metropolitan area that does this inspection, but I wanted close to home and in & out service. I called these guys and they informed me they had an open slot. I show up and was nicely greeted and was asked if I was the one that called. They took all necessary information and got my vehicle right in and out. I can only gauge them based off the service I needed and the quality of service I was given. If any other work is needed and I utilize them, I'll adjust my rating accordingly.

I would strongly recommend getting a second opinion before authorizing any major repair at Grant…read moreFirestone. My experience started when I paid Grant Firestone to replace the rear/crankshaft main oil seal on my 2017 Jeep Wrangler. I was charged more than $1,200 for the seal replacement and associated labor. The repair involves significant labor, including removal and reinstallation of the transmission. Later, I brought the Jeep back because I was having an overheating problem. Grant Firestone was unable to determine the cause. The owner then looked at the vehicle briefly and told me I had a cracked head gasket. I was quickly given a quote of more than $4,000 for the repair. At that point I became suspicious and decided not to authorize the work. I took the Jeep to another reputable mechanic for a second opinion. The head gasket was not cracked. The actual overheating problem was the radiator, which needed to be replaced. While performing that work, my new mechanic also discovered an oil leak. Further inspection determined that the leak was coming from the rear main seal - the same seal I had previously paid Grant Firestone more than $1,200 to replace. This is where my experience became especially concerning. After the transmission was removed and the area could be inspected, my mechanic determined that the rear main seal appeared to still be the factory-installed seal. He also found what he identified as the factory silicone/sealant still present. In other words, according to the independent mechanic's inspection, the seal I had paid Grant Firestone to replace did not appear to have been replaced. I have photographs documenting what was found when the transmission was removed, which I am including with this review. I contacted Grant Firestone about the continuing seal problem and was offered warranty work. But after another mechanic subsequently found what appeared to be the original factory seal and sealant still on the vehicle, I was not comfortable allowing Grant Firestone to work on my Jeep again. I requested a refund instead. I understand that automotive diagnoses can sometimes be wrong and that replacement parts can fail. If this had simply been a replacement seal that failed, I would view this situation very differently. My concern is that an independent mechanic found evidence indicating that the seal I paid to have replaced had never actually been replaced. Between the incorrect $4,000+ head-gasket diagnosis and what was discovered with the rear main seal, I lost confidence in this shop. I'm sharing the photos so people can see the condition that was documented and make their own judgment. Based on my experience, I will not return to Grant Firestone and would strongly encourage anyone facing an expensive diagnosis or repair here to get an independent second opinion before authorizing the work.
