Save your appetite for the pizza and ice cream - this is the lunch spot! Plenty of free cheese samples too if you need a little preview before buying. The signage getting there could definitely be better; first-timers may end up circling around wondering if they missed it.

This place made my cheese loving heart so stinking happy! Fresh cheese curds literally being wheeled in from the factory is a whole new level of culinary experience. Warm squeaky cheese = YES PLEASE! While they are not close by (I'm in Miami, FL) I will support them wholeheartedly at my local grocery store like Publix or Whole Foods. The employees were also so friendly & thoroughly explaining the process & seasoning of some of their products. Their selection of other local items was nice! Keep up the great work Ellsworth!!!

MUST. STOP. FOR. SQUEAKY. CHEESE. AND HOT CURDS. That's it - that's the review. But in all honestly, this was some of the best cheese I've ever had. All for $5.00. A steal. Deep fried curds were $7.00. These little golden fried pieces of cheese tasted like the came straight from heaven. Or a really, really good creamery. Exploring Wisconsin, I refused to leave the state without getting my hands on some of the finest curds. The Internet lead me here, thank you Lord, and I implore you to visit. The detour was worth it. They got a cute lil gift shop with booze, souvenir and other yummy treats as well.

Inside had more options that are actually reasonable in price

On a recent road trip, I stopped here after visiting Crystal Cave (if you haven't been you should definitely go!) There is plenty of free parking and there is an outdoor food cart that does fried cheese curds during certain days/hours. I would recommend looking ahead if you have your heart set on those! I walked up to the cart and was met with a very brash, "What do you want??" So much for midwestern nice... The cheese curds were good but sooo small. Honestly I would tell you to skip it. Inside there is a small store with all kinds of goodies! GET THE ICE CREAM!! It was the most creamy ice cream I have ever had! Also get the Kowpie! The textures were amazing and it tasted great! The customer service inside was also REALLY lacking and it was super slow! I would come back just for that ice cream though.... I'd love to see them do a collaboration with the cranberry growers in the area!

Very delicious soft serve ice cream and cheese, lots of souvenirs that you can take home, but I wish I didn't add any flavors to my blaster and just took a regular ice cream, I would enjoy it much better.

A cheese lover's paradise! When you first walk in, it's a little bit of chaos, as there is a sample bar right next to the door. Get past that and there are so many options, well beyond the cheese curds for which it is known for. The curds are the main attraction here, but there are many other varieties of cheese available. There are also plenty of snacky items, like crackers, chips, and nuts, along with meats and a small selection of alcohol. If you're planning a cheese plate party, this could be a one stop shop. It appeared that fried cheese curds were also being sold in a stand outside. I will happily make the short drive over again when I need to cure my cheese curd cravings!

Not only is the cheese wonderful, but so is the take home to bake pizza. Thin crust with an over load of toppings for a reasonable price. $11 feeds 4 normal people , or 2 teenage boys! Worth the trip to stock up! Big Dave approved!

This shop is smaller than the one in Menomonie, but is no less wonderful. There's a great variety of food goods and kitchen tools, most in a Wisconsin theme. There are all kinds of jellies, jams, sauces, popcorn savory and sweet, pretzels and chips, New Glarus beer and liquors all sorts, fudge, cookies, and of course, cheese galore. You could swim through curds like Uncle Scrooge through his money bin. There are various size packages of standard curds, from 2 ounces to 5 pounds, plus lots of flavors. During our visit, they had a table of samples out with a pin board on which people could vote for their favorite. A long wall of coolers holds pizzas, diverse cheeses, and local sausages. Really, there's something for everyone here.

Holy dairy fest 2022! We were visiting nearby family who insisted on reliving the nostalgia of our Midwest upbringing with fried cheese curds, yummy summer ice cream cones, and the Perfume de Cow wafting to our nostrils. We walked into the large, no-frills warehouse that has an entry room with tons of local products like potato sticks, chips, mustards, crackers, etc. You walk in further to a room with refrigerators galore. SO.MANY.CHEESES. Affordable, too! Every flavor combo of the squeakiest of the squeaky cheese curds: ranch, bacon, dill pickle, pizza, cajun, buffalo...or original if you must. Bags of all sizes and very affordable. There are blocks of cheese, milk, local beers, and items like cheese cutters, keychains, and other goodies. On the far end, don't miss out on a soft serve cone or sundae! So creamy and delish. It closely rivals the famous Cruz Farms where I live in TN. The bathrooms are clean, single rooms, which are perfect for a family with young kids to pile into for a potty break. The outside has a seating area with picnic tables. This is a perfect spot to enjoy your drippy cones or fried cheese curds (and ranch, of course!) from the food stand outside, next to these tables. We gorged ourselves and ate many salads following this experience. :-)

We were at our daughters house today and went here for lunch. They have a large store with a lot of different things for sale. There is also a grill for food and an ice cream bar. We had the grilled ham and cheese and also a scoop of ice cream. Everything was good. They had picnic tables available outside to eat at. Our grandkids really enjoyed the ice cream. We had a nice time eating together.

While visiting my daughter Alexandria and her family in Hudson, we decided to take a short road trip to Ellsworth Creamery. I was craving some squeaky cheese curds, plus I like strolling through the store. Their shelves are full of cheeses that I've never even heard of. Not that I'm lacking in culture, I'm just not from Wisconsin. Word has it that Wisconsiners know their cheese, and Ellsworth sure knows theirs. We bought garlic curds (my favorite), pizza, and Taco flavors. All spot on. They do it right. There's a window in the store where you can watch the hired help package the curds. A safe, clean operation. They also sell ice cream. My granddaughters each got a cup. And, young granddaughters as they are, have eyes bigger than their stomach. But luckily, they also have a grandpa who will rescue them from wasting the creamy goodness. Resulting in their grandpa never having to worry about wasting away. I asked the oldest of the two to take a picture of me by the Ellsworth mural painted on the wall. My intent was to send the pic to my girlfriend. As the old saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words. After seeing what my granddaughter snapped, only ONE word came to mind. Nope! Though I'll probably never waste away, I definitely don't have a way with my waist! We met a couple ladies who were sitting at the table next to us. They had bought a package of cheese, but also a fairly large quantity of Spotted Cow beer. I couldn't resist it, I said " boy, you must really love cheese". They laughed, and said that they're from Minnesota, and they can't get any there. I wasn't going to go for the obvious, so I kept it clean and replied "the cheese or the beer"? Seems Spotted Cow is only sold in Wisconsin. Quick Tip: Pick up some fried curds from the truck out front. They're gooey, chewy, and that's no phooey.

There are two reasons I go to Wisconsin; beer and cheese. In a recent adventure we headed beyond just crossing the border to Hudson and drove south to the Ellsworth dairy for our cheese fix. Upon weaving your way through town you arrive at the creamery which is open and operating almost every day of the year. We timed our arrival just past 11 when the fresh cheese curds were being brought out. The retail store has plenty of parking slightly separate from the coop parking. Upon entering we were surprised with how much they had to offer. There was a whole array of Wisconsin treats in addition to the main attraction...cheese! Of course New Glarus was available with a variety of Wisconsin wines and liquors as well. Up front you could order various ice cream treats but not a wide range of lunch items and fried curds as those only appear to be available in Menominee location. You can watch the employees pack fresh curds near the front but unfortunately they don't offer tours so this is really the only peek at operations that you can see. The highlight was definitely the squeaky curds. They are $5 a lb for the fresh ones and they were FRESH! We also grabbed a few 1/4 bags of various flavored curds and a cheese end package at a hefty discount . We left with more cheese curds than any single family should have in their possession at a given time which is what we call a success! Ellsworth is worth the extra detour for those fresh curds!

They have lots of different Ellsworth cheese products, along with a bunch of other Wisconsin made items. We were on our way home from Thanksgiving in Minneapolis. The snow was coming down, and we decided to take a break and grab some lunch. Perfect timing to stop in at the creamery and try one of their famous grilled cheese curd sandwiches. It was noon and a few other people had the same idea. The several staff members we interacted with were all friendly and helpful. I got the sandwich and my wife got the Hot Chicken Tortilla soup. Both were very good. The bread was a thicker Texas toast and nicely grilled. The cheese curds had been melted, but you could still make out the curd shapes. There was a small amount of BBQ sauce that gave it a bit of a tangy flavor. I would have liked a bit more of that. Next time, I would like to get there earlier to check out the actual curd and cheese making process.

They also have a deli where you can get grilled cheese sandwiches and an assortment of other yummy to go foods. And there's ice cream. But to be honest, I stop in for the small market that they have. I pick up the bloody Marys and a few other cheesy treats .
