The food was pretty good. I definitely suggest any of the sweet breakfast options like french toast or pancakes. The hash browns and bacon were not as impressive. Our server was decent but not very engaging and couldn't recommend things on the menu due to never having it. It was kind of frustrating because I went for my birthday and didn't really enjoy his vibe or the lack of help with the menu. He also didn't engage about my birthday celebration at all and seemed to not care. I wish he would have been more welcoming. Good for a Sunday brunch. I went with a small group- I got one of the scrambles...a was just okay. They eggs weren't all the way cooked, so there was a little runniness to my eggs which was ick. Come here on a Friday morning and was seated immediately. We sat outside which was a cute spot and provided a nice bit of privacy in a bustling area. Definitely an Arizona staple. They were drowning in verde sauce, but I'm a fan. I also go the side of biscuit and jam, and was unfortunately disappointed. The biscuit had no layers and lacked the buttery flavor of a traditional biscuit. The jam was also disappointing because it came prepackaged, like you would find at an ihop but not as good. I was disappointed by the bagel and lox that I received for breakfast last Saturday. It was set up like a sandwich, piled high with tomato, cucumber, herb cream cheese, and lox. Since it was so impossibly tall, I manually split it into two open-face sandwiches. I noticed that the lox was not made up of one or two slices of salmon, but instead many small bits of salmon. I took one bite and the lox was somehow tough and chewy. Maybe it had cured too much and it's time to toss it. I took the lox off and ate the cucumber, then went for just the bagel and herb cream cheese. The cream cheese was fine, but the bagel was so sad. A plain basic bagel that was too thick and doughy and not even lightly toasted. On the side, I had requested extra crispy hash browns. They were soft aside from a few places that were almost burnt. I like the location of this restaurant. Uptown plaza has so many nice shops and restaurants. I was surprised by how big the restaurant is so even though we came at peak time for Sunday brunch we didn't have to wait that long for a table. Their menu is pretty big too. I had the southwest omelette which I was told was one of their bestsellers. It was pretty good and portions are big enough that I didn't even touch the pancakes it came with. Didn't even know this was in the Uptown Plaza. Down the alley way across from Lou Malnati's . Place is quite large and had a nice little patio. Still doing the low carb crap so was kind of lame in my ordering... but everything was delicious. Got the Gravalox Bowl and scrambled eggs and sausage. Service was outstanding. I've visited several Elly's in the past but this is by far my favorite location. The food, service, and building is amazing. We got the Nutella pancakes and the caramelized bananas are out of this world. So sweet but compliments the pancakes very well. Side of bacon and hashbrowns were also greatly prepared making a wonderful meal. My friend for the Meat Lover Skillet which is full of flavor and is certainly a hearty meal. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive from the waiter to bus staff it's honestly a wonderful environment. We were brought a carafe of water and two more glasses of iced tea that we didn't ask for. We refused them but chances are they were poured down the sink. I was told a 10 mins wait, cool sign me up. I was scoping the menu for goodies and eyeballing the dishes coming out of the kitchen. So many things to try. They hollered at me when my table was ready. The hostess pull the menu down on the table and walked off. I noticed the table is still dirty and it had wet spots (were peoples' drinks were). The server greeted me and I told him. They came back and cleaned off the table, but now everything wet and the menu were placed down once again on the wet surface. Joy! I had to separate the sticky menus and air fan them. I had time since my peeps are not here yet. The server came back and took my drink order, iced match 16oz. It doesn't taste sweet at all. I got the Spartan omelette, and it was delicious. So much feta, which I devoured. The unlimited coffee (with almond milk available) was appreciated. They refilled it without asking. Sue is like the aunt you want to see often cause she so welcoming. And I think by far we got the best waitress! ( Brittany). We enjoy our dining (breakfast) experience here. It's very nice to be able to sit outside & enjoy this glorious weather. The food is good & reasonable price. Staff is super friendly. It's very busy on the weekend, but not too bad to a wait between 20-30 mins if you have outdoor dining. The only thing I would not order again is the $8.00 Bloody Mary drink -- it is not good & also a sad looking . The breakfast options are great & they do taste good. There was a little mishap with our table (it was given away to other people, as we were called up as our table was ready). The hostess apologized and fixed it in 5 mins. If I could give negative starts I would, very disappointing. I came for my bday this weekend and service was the worst I have ever had since this place opened and I come here a lot. It took 45 minutes to get our food, the manager apologized and I asked him if he realized how long this took and he said yes he understands and they are busy. When the food came it was wrong, I ordered and egg white omelette and it was whole eggs and my friend ordered cheesy potatoes and came with no cheese, I never got my iced coffee and when I asked my waitress to take it off the bill at the end of the meal her response was that the coffee bar is backed up, for over an hour for an iced coffee!!! Wow! We visited this place on a Saturday so it was very busy but gave us time to wander the local nomad shop next door and had a table within 15 minutes. Service was great and so was the food. Some of the best coffee and $3 mimosas were so delicious! We both had the standard egg breakfast with an upgrade to fresh blueberry crepes. This cafe is a great choice if you're looking for a breakfast place with Mimosas. They have deals that will knock your socks off, it was a fan favorite of mine back in college. The food is just as good, definitely both quality and quantity. The staff is friendly and relatable, they're always making sure everyone in your party is having a pleasant time. I love the spacious feel I get from their wide open entrance, it makes the inside feel more outside and shows off what a great brunch atmosphere they really have. We have been here twice now. Great service, clean and the food was great. I had the steak and wild mushroom skillet along with the French toast. Large portions and great taste. The I also highly recommend their fresh squeezed orange juice as well. The only disappointment was the smoothie we had. It had a horrible salty taste to it and it did not taste fresh.
