Berdena's is located in a little plaza with a bunch of other cute shops and restaurants, such as Lydia's, Vida Moulin, Le Potager Atelier, etc. The plaza is called The Frederick, which is a redeveloped 1960s mid-century building. There is a decent sized parking lot that is plenty for off peak hours, but fills up quickly for weekend brunch. The businesses surround a small courtyard with some seating. I had lunch plans at Lydia's, and decided to check out Berdena's beforehand. It's a coffee shop with pastries and breakfast burritos. While the breakfast burritos sounded good, there was no way I could have that and lunch shortly after, so I just opted for the cardamom rose latte. Originally I had wanted to get a pastry as well, but I got there later in the morning so there weren't many options left - maybe another time! It was fairly busy when I went, with a steady stream of customers coming in and out. The seating outside looked enticing, and I saw many people enjoying lounging in the courtyard, but it was getting warm and I didn't want to get burnt. The one thing I think sucks about this location is that the breakfast sandwich is not available here. I got a breakfast burrito instead. I also bought a cookie and some of their sodas. The food itself was nothing special but it was nice because I got an InKind discount. The place itself is somewhat relaxing and people tend to bring their laptops here to study/work. read more

01/10/2026 My friend and I stopped here for caffeine after brunch. So glad we got there around 9:50am - there was only one person in front of us, but the line got super long not long after. They had many pastry options that were sourced from a local bakery. I got an iced blackberry matcha and a strawberry pop tart. My friend got a vanilla latte and a slice of banana bread. There were a few seats available at the community table, but the layout of the place is pretty cramped so we sat outside. I couldn't really taste the blackberry in my matcha. I liked the taste of the pop tart, but it didn't have enough filling. I tried a bit of my friend's banana bread - flavor was good but texture was quite dense. The staff were all really nice and courteous. My overall experience was pretty good, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go here. read more

Worth the hype! The breakfast sandwich is top tier and the winter spiced latte was subtle but delicious. The sandwich had the most perfect cooked egg, it was still a little gooey in the middle but not so much that it made a total mess. The arugula, avocado, and tomato were super fresh. It felt light and rich at the same time, just delish. The staff was amazing especially given how busy it was on a Saturday morning. I was shocked at how fast everything came out. This is one of my favorite hidden gems, tucked inside The Frederick. They have the best pastries hands down, the banana bread is unmatched. My review is based on the pastries but I definitely need to try the coffee and the burritos as they seem to be a hit among customers. I like this location because they have parking and that's always on my mind. They have indoor and outdoor seating. I've had a variety of their pastries. I like the cheese danish. The cinnamon roll was very sweet - I recommend it when sharing, on its own it can be overindulgent. The breakfast cookie is a nice alternative if you like nuts however I think it's expensive. Why has it taken so long for me to review Berdena's on Missouri?? Located in the Fred, a collection of small businesses, Berdena's is warm and inviting. Lots of seating inside and outside. Coffee and teas are both delicious. We ordered the Rose Cardamom latte (my favorite) and iced tea (Jasmine Pomelo, I think). The latte was perfect. Can really taste the florals of the rose and the warm nuttiness of the cardamom. We were quite surprised by the iced tea--very floral and fragrant. The perfect iced tea, actually. Food-wise, there is quite a selection of pastries (croissants, cinnamon rolls, scones) as well as breakfast burritos and avocado toast. We ordered the burrito with bacon. SO delicious and filling. The avocado toast was beautiful, but needed more flavor--maybe some salt. Service was friendly and accommodating. Berdena's on Missouri is just as aesthetically pleasing as its Scottsdale counterpart. It's very beautiful in there. I only had a hot tea (which was delicious) but the food and other drinks they had looked good. Service was great - very attentive and friendly. The space is very inviting and I could see myself bringing my laptop and working from there. Only issue is there isn't all that much seating inside - I don't know how crowded it gets. I made a stop on a Friday morning and there were several seats available. The Fred where the coffee shop is located is really neat. Plenty of parking at the back. read more

Berdena's coffee was amazing!! This is a beautiful quiet spot. I went early Saturday morning and it was busy but still places to sit. The employees were all super friendly and happy to help. On this visit I ordered an iced caramel oat milk latte, chocolate chip cookie and the breakfast burrito. The latte was so smooth and no bitter taste. I believe I saw them measuring out on a scale which is actually brilliant to ensure consistency across baristas. The chocolate chip cookie was crispy on the edges but still chewy in the middle. Yum. The breakfast burrito wasn't anything spectacular. It was filling and needed the salsa for more flavor. Overall, a great spot for an amazing coffee and pastries. I consider myself a loyal customer to Berdenas. I love to visit the Fred location to work on homework or to catch up on work. The staff is always very kind and welcoming. The seating area is very comfortable and they have several outlets available as well as strong wifi. My favorite menu items to get are the Cinnamon Honey Latte w/ Oat, the danish and the avocado toast. I've tried the breakfast burrito in the past and it's delicious. I would say that the matcha is a hit or a miss depending on who prepares it. This is because they use pre-made matcha concentrate; they don't whisk the matcha to order. This past visit they used too much concentrate and my drink was very strong and not very enjoyable. read more

I saw another review mentioning how the matchas are made inconsistently here and I agree. I went in today and ordered the blackberry matcha. The matcha itself seemed fine quality wise but I couldn't taste any blackberry flavor at all. I don't like my matchas super sweet but this just wasn't enjoyable to drink at all.
