I would give them no stars If I was able to do it. I went last week to have them hem my dress and I explained to the person there, I needed my drees for Tuesday (for Christmas Eve), she said sure, you can pick it up by 3:00 pm. She said there would be an up charge for the "rush" order, but she said, since it's your first time, I would waive it. On Christmas Eve my husband and son went to pick up my dress and it was 2:20 pm and they had the "open" sign turned on but the door locked and a small written sign that read " Christmas Eve Closed at 2:00 pm. She didn't even call me to give me the opportunity to run and pick up my dress... so, ended up with nothing to wear for Christmas Eve! I will never come back, and I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL!! read more

TLDR Version: The only person authorized to do refunds is the owner. After being promised a refund by the owner (twice), we still haven't received it. It appears he's hoping we'll eventually think the trouble isn't worth the $13.20..... challenge accepted. Short backstory. First, I hate giving 1 star reviews. No business deserves it.....unless you blatantly lie to a customer. We dropped off two pairs of black pants for dry-cleaning/pressing and paid extra to have them expedited for a work trip 3 days later. When we returned 2 days later to pick them up, they initially couldn't find the second pair. After an hour of looking and a 2nd trip back to the dry cleaner, they delivered the pants in worse condition than we dropped them off. Multiple residue/dust stains and unpressed. It's like they had fallen off the line or onto the floor and were forgotten about. The worker stated it was unacceptable and she called owner to provide a refund. While she was on the phone, you could hear the owner chastising the worker for offering a refund but that he'd process it the following Monday. After 2 phone calls, 2 trips back to the store, and 3 weeks....still no refund. read more

I hadn't used this cleaner for about a year. Almost turned around and left before going in because it looked so run down. The attendant was outside the front door, smoking. She put out her cigarette and followed me inside, complaining that the credit card device wasn't working and hoped I could pay in cash. Reluctantly, I paid $25 upfront for three light jackets. Returned (today) to pick up jackets and was met with a "back in 20 minutes" paper sign taped to the door. Left, came back later. The young man behind the counter was nice enough. I grabbed my jackets and left. Sadly, one of the jackets had a warped collar. The other's pocket was pressed backwards. The last jacket escaped injury. I have been contacting Elm Dry Cleaners in Roseville, CA since September 7 to pick up a wedding dress I left with them in August. No one seems to know where the dress is but it is "always right here" when I talk to the owner/manager in Auburn. I have stopped at the Granite Bay location 4 times and have spoken on the phone to two people who are supposedly the owner and/or manager. The last conversation on Thursday, October 10, I was told the woman would deliver it to my house since she lived in Roseville. As of this date, I have heard nothing more from anyone at Elm. I will be filing a complaint with the authorities and a claim to be reimbursed for the wedding dress. Either the dress is lost or they have sold it to an outside party. I am not happy since that dress is irreplaceable. Needless to say, I will NEVER use, nor recommend any of the Elm Dry Cleaners in the area. read more

I was referred to this place buy a coworker. When I pulled up to this place I notched there front window says 100% satisfaction guarantee. I was greeted buy a very nice lady. I went over the stains on my ties I needed removed and wanted my pants dry cleaned and shirts cleaned and pressed. Great first impression was very happy with them so far. My items were ready when promised. When I got home and checked my clothing I noticed the clip on my pants had been torn off. My tie still had stains and my shirts looked like hell after there press job. When I went in the next day the lady at the counter asked if i was sure I didn't bring my pants in like that because they've been dry cleaning for years and would have never done something like that. Please avoid this place. I rarely say this about a small business but they really are bad!!!! I brought my coat in after a horrible morning sickness event. Needless to say my coat was filthy and there was no way I could wash it myself without upchucking again. When I picked up my coat after it was supposedly cleaned I noticed when I got home it STILL HAD DRY VOMIT ON THE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE!!!!! I took it back and the cashier didn't even apologize. She just wrote a ticket for a redo and told me it would be taken care of asap. I come back to pick it up (not sure why I even gave them a second chance) and there was STILL dry vomit on the front of my coat. The girl, another girl, said it was dried soap. Really??? so the first time you washed it there was dried vomit and dried soap. You claimed to wash it again and there is STILL the same spot of dry soap on the same exact spot???? She simply scratched it off with her finger and handed it to me. I was infuriated. I bet they didn't clean it the second time but simply scratched off the dry gunk they didn't wash off properly. I dropped off my clothes and they lost one of my silk shirts. It was very expensive, they never found it nor have they stepped up to the plate to pay for it as I requested. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!!!! If i could i would give this place 0 stars, but unfortunately yelp will not allow it. I'm a very patient man but there is a fine line between giving someone the benefit of the doubt and being ripped off. First and foremost this place is extremely overpriced and i have NEVER been to a dry cleaners where you have to pay up front instead of when you pick up?? ODD but OK... I took a few suits in to have altered on March 6th 2019 and the person who was working clearly was not trained properly on how to take measurements, she was not measuring my waist correctly but she insisted on doing it her way. I paid upfront per their request and approximately 2 weeks later when I received my suits they were not altered correctly. One of my suits was a bran new suit, never worn before and the waist was 3 1/2" still too large, i left a message with the owner and a woman claiming to be the owner called me and assured me that it would be taken care of, I went back in and had someone else re take my measurements. 2 MONTHS go by and nothing... I ask what the hold up is and they inform me that the alteration place is extremely backed up but she will get to it asap. I pick up some comforters and see my suit hanging in the back so i ask if that's mine and the lady says "oh yes here you go" i tried it on and NOTHING was done to it. So i was lied to about it being at the alteration place and they still had it. I left it there and left a message with the owner to call me back. I've called back about once a week leaving a message for the owner to call me back and I still have not received a call. I finally went back in today (5/30/19) and picked up my suit which was still there untouched. seeing how frustrated and upset I was the person who was working there called the owner and i could hear her talking to him saying "it's the customer who has been trying to reach you..." yet he still did not want to talk to me. I took my suit back and I guess he can keep my money but i will NEVER GO BACK and i will advise EVERYONE NEVER TO GO TO A PLACE THAT ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS $ AND NOT THE SERVICE OR THE CUSTOMER!!! I wanted to like this place. My father used them in the past and It is walking distance from my home... however I received such Appallingly poor customer service... I can't imagine how they are even still in business. Apparently they don't need customers. I went there today... twice. Both times no one is at the counter. But I could hear them talking and laughing in the back. I tried repeatedly to get someone's attention to wait on me. I called out to them loudly several times saying hello, can anyone help me? But they just ignored me. First time I left, did some other errands and came back a second time hoping it was just a fluke. But no... same thing happened! So I took my business elsewhere. If they genuinely can not hear the customers, they should put some effort into rectifying this problem. There is no bell or buzzer on the counter. Perhaps there should be. read more

I needed some jeans hemmed and this was the best service and quick service I've ever received at a dry cleaners. The girl working was so sweet and honest about the turn around time. When I got my pants back (which needed hemming and patched holes) she asked me to please try them on before leaving the store to make sure everything looked perfect and to my liking. I don't know about the other customers who leave without checking their products first but I've had nothing but great experiences here and continue to spread the word about this business. read more

I had a couple of Levi's that needed alteration in the waist. Sure, it took about a day or two after what was written on the ticket but, they came out perfect! I fail to see as to what warrants the low ratings for Elm Cleaners. They have done my corduroy spots coat, PERFECT!!! My three-piece suit, a very nice three-piece suit that was my grandfathers that was given to me after his death, PERFECT!!! My dress shirts...PERFECT!!! Great friendly service. Two stars for quality of the product though. I don't know how it happens but a lot of my dress shirts either have cracked buttons, shredded collars, or double creases. Either their irons burn the buttons or just pressed into oblivion. Creases on the collars and sleeves are pressed so hard that they're like folded paper and torn at the crease. Then they probably missed the original crease and pressed another resulting in a double creases. I asked for light starch and they end up like cardboard. Buyer beware. read more

This is for the Lincoln Elm Drycleaners but I know they are all owned by the same person. They lost my wife's belt to her jacket she received for Christmas and then state they never had it. This jacket is made so you cant use it without the belt. They are saying we are trying to get money from them and not reimburse her. This place needs a lesson in customer service. We have used them several times and they were great but now they have changed for the worse. If I were able to give a negative score I would because 1 star is even too high!!! I would like to edit this. Nishi, the manager is AWESOME and is working with us on the lost clothing item. The problem is an employee in the Lincoln store that is NOT customer friendly and has a serious attitude. She was not even passing on messages from Nishi. Once we were in contact with NIshi, then things are working out. That particular employee needs some customer service lessons or needs to find a different line of work. I used to go to this dry cleaner before it changed ownership, loved it then, HATE it now!!! Dropped off a suit on Monday for pick up on Wednesday, had to go back 3 times because it wasn't ready! On my second try the chick grabbed the dress shirt and said "can you come back tomorrow it's not ready, NO, ok come back at 6:45, came back and the chick told me we send the dry cleaning out and they dropped it off late" SERIOUSLY?....I guess she thought I was born yesterday!!!! when i picked up my clothes i notice 3 pairs of my black pants were scorched. i notified them and was told i would receive a call from the manager. When I didn't i went in personally to speak with the manager and spoke to a young man and told him what had happened to my pants and he assured me I would receive a call that day. No one called me. This review is way past due , I dont want to talk about their cleaning Services, I just want to talk about how unprofessional and irresponsible their manager is ! I took in 14 shirts for dry cleaning they lost 2 shirts and the manager who lacks any kind of customer service told me to come back the next day , I go back and he has no idea where the shirts are so he tells me to give him a week and he will call me , no calls or updates ..I go back again and hes not there , a lady who works there called him and told him that I'm there he tells her hes in a meeting ...me fed up I go there again and he acted like he doesnt know what I'm talking about and started saying that he doesnt want to lose a customer like me , and he said give me until tomorrow so he can contact his partner and figure out what to do , bear in mind he didnt offer any compensation for the shirts ! As of today I still haven't heard back from him even though I told him that he needs to call me and be professional! My advice is u dont go there . I would rather pay more and not have any of my expensive husband's shirts get lost more importantly get a decent customer service! The manager is rediciolus!! read more

Like other reviewers, I have buttons cracked or broken off during their cleaning and pressing, and they want to charge me to have it fixed. Normal turn around times have increased and so have their prices. They advertise discounts but when I ask I am told "I'll have to call the owner to verify that." Terrible customer service! When the store recently lost my shirt, the young man at the store originally blamed it on a new driver and told me he would call me tomorrow when it showed up. When I didn't get the promised phone call, I went back in and they brought out a pair of pants that weren't mine and try to convince me that they had to be since they were tagged with my order. When I patiently told them they had made a mistake, he indicated that he would talk to the owner and get back with me. Again, no phone call, so I went in today and was basically called a liar, being told that I either received all my items or those pants were mine, and they had no other way of proving otherwise, although I had their note saying I picked up all but one item. When I called the owner and he just brushed me off saying he was out of town and to call him back next week. What sort of customer service is this? None! It was NOT finished or delivered when promised and I was left scrambling to find a last min fix for a wedding that night!! The manager, Nishi, could care less and told me to go to elk grove if I wanted it!!! Then, when I went to get it 5 days after it was promise it was still not there!!! No one cared, so disappointing that they didn't have the professional courtesy to call me! NEVER TRUST THEM!! read more

Customer service at Elm cleaners is really bad. They do not care for customers. I dropped a suit off Thursday and asked for overnight service and they said it would be an extra dollar. No problem I just told the clerk that I really needed if for Monday and she assured me it would be ready Friday after 5. I went Saturday at 9:30 a.m. and suit was not ready. The clerk called the manager who confirmed it was still in Auburn and would not be ready until Monday. But I need the suit for an interview on Monday. Manager said that she was sorry but it would not be done until Monday after 5. I will Never Ever go back to this cleaners. read more
