Great service from everyone. Seated quickly on Sunday with a pretty full house. Two fireplaces running. Wait staff very attentive. Food is like home cooked and tasty. Crab Benedict was delicious and the German pancake never fails. Nice family friendly and enjoyable place to grab breakfast.

This is a German Pancake with Strawberries! You can share with 2 or 3 people.

So, me and my family have eaten here twice! The food on both times has been amazing. My wife got the big country breakfast both times and her and my 1 year old son ate everything. I've had both the crab egg Benedict and the crab omelette, and all I can say is I would order both in a heartbeat. Our waitress on both occasions has been Adriana! She is the best! She is very nice and has taken care of us. The place overall feels very much like a homestead restaurant. My family can't recommend this place enough!

This is a great place for breakfast with the numerous options. We opted for the eggs Benedict, German pancake, strawberry crepe and chicken fried steak. Yes, we were hungry , ate it all and left satisfied. The staff there were friendly and attentive. We had a great experience

Thank you for the SPRINKLES!!!!! Our inner child was so excited!!

They have Dutch pancakes which is why I always stop by an Elmer's if i see one on a road trip. Service is usually friendly and efficient.

First we arrived 20-30min prior to our reservation. The lady at the front was sooo friendly I was taken back! We asked if we could sit at the bar and get a drink. Of course she said yes. The bar is super cute and I love the hours off-set the restaurant hours so you can enjoy drinks prior to and after dinner. The bar tender was super friendly and you can see he enjoyed his job. The drinks were really good! Our friendly greater came to get us promptly when our table was ready. The table was ready with fresh baked bread and butter. Our waiter was Jessie; what a gem! He was so friendly and helped us with the menu and gave excellent recommendations. We started off with the bar fries (Jessie's recommendation) wow! They were amazing not super heavy and a perfect starter. I had the special which was a NY steak, with Hatch Chili polenta. My steak was perfection and the polenta was delicious. I loved the gravy as well. Superb blend of flavors. We ended the night with the flourless chocolate cake and espresso martini. Fabulous food and honestly some of the friendliest staff I have ever encountered.

I am so conflicted about this place and definitely will go back and try it two or three more times…read morein hopes that tonight was a miss. First the positive we arrived and were greeted promptly by a very friendly hostess. She let us know we could sit in the bar and have drinks and appetizers while waiting for our table to be ready in the main dining room. I like that style of attentiveness. The drinks offered on the cocktail list are a solid variety and the names are organized to lend to the theme that you're eating in an old train depot. I liked that. What I did not like is that the bar program is not sophisticated enough to make really any off menu items. For appetizers, we ordered the chicken taurine. We all agreed this was the best bite of the night. It was complicated and textured and very well thought out. The other appetizer we ordered was "chilled ahi rillettes". Just knock off the fancy name and let people know that what you're getting is an $11 scoop of bland tunafish salad and a few store-bought crackers all of which is a huge skip. The wine pairings with dinner were appropriate and tasty. The real problems occurred with the main entrées. Two of us ordered the rockfish and both felt the fish was poor quality. The sauces were over salted and bland and the rice it came on was a mealy mush. I don't know what happened, but this dish is bad and shouldn't be on the menu. The other dish ordered at the table was the scallops which my friend said was "fine". Hmm just fine, ok. The shiny star of the night was our server Jesse, but of course everybody in Albany loves Jesse. I will go back and recommend you try this place at least once to form your own opinion.

Bodhi Cafe is the kind of neighborhood spot you hope every town has--comfortable, unpretentious,…read moreand consistently good. The menu leans into classic American comfort food, and everything feels like it's made with care rather than rushed out of a kitchen. The standout for me is the turkey Reuben. It's one of those sandwiches you think about later in the day. The turkey is tender, the sauerkraut adds just the right amount of tang, and everything comes together perfectly on grilled rye. This Reuben is dressed with a smoked pepper spread instead of mustard and this is what absolutely turns it up compared to your usual turkey Reuben. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, the kind of place where you can sit with a cup of coffee and take your time. If you're in Salem and looking for a solid comfort-food café, Bodhi Cafe--and especially that turkey Reuben--is well worth the stop.

The prices are reasonable and give folks in town another breakfast, brunch, or lunch spot. Because they're gaining in popularity (you go, Bodhi!), I really hope they put up signage, like Ba's did, that tells people to order before sitting. When I was there on Friday, I managed to grab the last available spot after I ordered. There were many people who were holding spots while they waited for others to join and others who had ordered but were looking around for a place to sit. People don't seem to get the concept of sit after you order, so I hope the shop can help remind/teach folks.
