My husband called Elrod about a month ago to see about getting a quote to replace our fence. They said they would be there Thursday or Friday. No one came. When we called, no one answered. The following week my husband was able to get ahold of someone and they said sorry the winds had kept them busy and it's hard to find someone to give quotes after 3 but would call us back. Came here to leave a bad review not knowing that they already have a ton of bad reviews. Seems they don't care, but here goes nothing. Communication was horrid. when they work finally started they tore down the original fence, then had a realization that the new fence couldn't go up until my tree was decimated. gave permission for that, because what could be done at that point. they left the tree in pieces in my yard for me to haul away. After the fence goes up I noticed that the fence does not touch the ground at any point, has serious gaps on the bottom side where I can see into the neighbors yard and they installed one panel higher than all the rest along the back of my yard without asking if this was ok. There's a lot more, but what's here seems like enough. They are abysmal. Don't waste your time or money. read more

Horrible job! I understand that they are busy but if they can't take any new projects say so. Don't send out workers multiple times to complete a job. They sent 2 guys to install the chain link, then sent 2 different guys to install the gate that was missing a panel. One guy was really rude and walked away as I was asking when they would return to finish the gate. They also used a cheap wheel and put in the rail wrong! I had to pay our motor installer to fix their mistakes and change the wheel. They finally came back after I already had my motor installed to add the missing panel and did a sloppy job. We should've gone with the company that did our side fence instead of trying to give this local company our business. Very disappointed!!!! read more

This company has so many bad reviews. . Chris from El Rod is the worst! This guy is a jerk off! Front the beginning when he measured, he was already on the phone several times and very rushy. Very unprofessional. At the time of the install, they wanted to attach the chain link to vinyl, which I wanted a post, we had a misunderstanding on height, so his workers called Chris, to explain what the customer wants, Chris gets mad and wines like a little kid and raises his voice, instead of talking as an adult and remedy the situation. He tells his crew to pull out and hangs up the phone. What a coward! Don't bring your personal problems to work buddy. The workers were cordial and nice. Spread the word, this company SUCKS! One of my office people called me and said he had arrived. Since I was just blocks away. Asked for him wait 5 minutes. Guess that wasn't good enough for him. HE LEFT! I made multiple calls to his office and his cell phone. No response from him on why he left. Guess his business is doing so well he doesn't need to grow anymore. WARNING! Elrod Fence = MIKE's Fencing. (Under one license, he uses 2 different business name) 1) Made written contract with a deposit, for fence installation. 2) He cashed out the deposit. 3) 12 hours before installation, he called me, and stated "I will be there tomorrow for installation". 4) Due to the short notice, I was not able to change my work schedule, so I asked him to reschedule. 5). He refused to reschedule & stated "....leave the gate open....I prefer to work alone without owner's presence" in that manner. 6) He continued refusing reschedule in a hostile manner, and said "I will send you deposit back". I've used Elrod for my fencing needs for years, but my last project went bad. Serious lack of professionalism. The crew was reaching end of their shift and threw the gate together fast. It didn't fit and would not open or close and it looked extremely bad. They left with it like this. When I asked if they could correct, they indicated it was too late. It wasn't until I got upset that they acknowledged it could be fixed and they did so. But it had to get heated for them to do their job. I also did jointly with a neighbor and took responsibility of getting a receipt for them, but despite numerous requests, I could not get a response from Elrod to get that receipt. So be wary if you use them. It's a shame because they were my go to company for 30 years. read more

This company sucks !!! They aren't reliable, Roy said we were scheduled to have a fence installed and we weren't. He personally came to measure and it was completely wrong. He ordered the wrong color for fencing. Don't do it !!! Look into other companies in The area. Maybe at one time this was a great company, but not anymore. Then we had a fence installed that they knew wasn't allowed in our area. The workers are great !!! I felt bad for them. We have a 12foot wide gate for a motor home to enter our backyard. There was a wind storm and the hinges on one side were broken completely off. We had Elrod Fence fix the hinges and also replace the redwood. What an amazing job they did! The gates look wonderful! The job was clean and so well done. Not only did the ladies help but they actually watched my son and played with him behind the desks so I could make decisions with a clear head. Brian from Elrod Fence Co. was incredibly communicative from the start. After the initial phone call to gather a quote, Brian stayed in contact to let us know when he was coming by. When he arrived, he did a quick scan of our yard and listened to what we wanted to have done. We had an idea of what we wanted, but Brian was able to offer his professional advice to get us thinking of other options. He provided us with three different quotes based on a few ideas. We ultimately went with his idea. Brian remained in contact to let us know when the workers would be coming to install Phase 1 of the fence. He kept in contact to let us know when Phase 2 of the fence would be installed. The communication was comforting and kept things on track. Brian's option ended up being the least expensive option and when I actually saw it, I was so glad we listened to him. We LOVE our iron fence. We asked Brian to do some additional work that was not in the original quote. He indicated he could do it and provided the quote. We accepted the quote and requested to move forward with the work. When the work was completed, I was disappointed. The quality and workmanship wasn't the same as it was for our fence. I sent Brian an email with photos of the work and he was very apologetic and eager to remedy the situation. He remedied the situation by coming back to our house and doing the work himself. Prior to coming to the house, again, he was very communicative regarding his schedule and timeline to be able to complete he work. The customer service levels were off the charts. We were so appreciative that our disappointment was taken to heart and a remedy was sought to regain customer satisfaction. Bottom line....we LOVE our fence and would not hesitate to recommend them to others or use their services again if we needed to. read more

I called in December of 2015 to ask a question about gate hinge maintenance on a fence and gate installation from 2006. The original installation was done well and to my expectations. So of course I called them again with an issue in greasing the hinges on the drive gate. I talked to Brian, and actually had to hang up on him, as he ended up shouting at me. From the moment I started talking about the issue of who to get to do the greasing on the non-standard grease nipples on my gate, every comment was negative. "We don't..." "That's not what we do..." and the clincher was "I've never had anyone call about this." And not just once, but over and over he was negative in dealing with me. (Perhaps because I'm a woman?) After a few minutes of all his negative comments, I told him that I felt stupid for even asking the question. THEN he began shouting and went on the defensive, overriding me the way Donald Trump does when someone doesn't agree with him. I hung up with his voice still shouting that he was in no way responsible for what I was feeling and "I never said this", "I never said that". Whew. Unbelievable poor customer service. If you need an installation, they're more than happy to take their money. But if they have to come back to work on something they installed, it's a $400 minimum cost, and don't expect a warm welcome. read more
