Good price but poor quality. Installation team left a mess of concrete from footings, fence is several inches above lowest point and they broke several sprinklers (of course they have a clause that they are not responsible for underground utilities, even thought the sprinklers they broke are above ground). Wish I would have spent a little extra for better quality or just done it myself. read more

Called and spoke to someone about an estimate. They said an estimator would call me for an appointment. No one ever called. I emailed them a week later through their website and filled out the request form. No one ever got back to me. Don't waste your time with this company as they are obviously not interested in doing any work. Very disappointing! read more

Needed gate repair on a dbl. wide gate, elrod provided me a quote, I said let's do it, they said it would be 4 to 5 weeks, never heard from them since even after contacting them on two different occasions, guess my $600 repair job is too small, guess who I won't call when I have a large job, I also do not recommend to anyone read more

Horrible customer service. Doug did not show up for the appointment I had to get an estimate. The person I talked to on the phone about where he was, was uninterested and was really unconcerned about him missing this appointment. We started with a quote given to us by Roy on 5/4/2020. He came to look at the property and discussed what was needed. Once we agreed the date to start installation was first the first week in June. Then a few days later it was 2nd week of June. After a week of the original quote we spoke with Roy to advise concrete will need to be broken on the retaining wall we share with the neighbors and he said it wouldn't be a problem but it would be an extra charge which we were fine with. New quote given, Roy said he'd be out to our property 1 week prior to installation to make sure everything was good to go. 2nd week of June came and went. We had to call them since we haven't heard from Roy or anyone else at Elrod to ask exactly what day/time will they be here. Roy said it was now pushed to another week out. So now we're in the 3rd week of June. Still no call, so we call again on June 17, and once again it was pushed out to the week of June 22nd. Roy said he'd call us Friday with a time. No call Friday. Monday morning at 8am we get a call from Roy the workers will be here at 9am. We said it was fine. Roy came we walked through the property again and he said it shouldn't be a problem again to what we were looking to do. The workers came and by this time Roy had left. We talked to a Gustavo who said he couldn't start the work no one told him about the retaining wall. Gustavo said he called his boss and Roy to ask what to do. I said Roy said it was fine, Gustavo said Roy doesn't do the work we do and that Roy has done this before, that he's doesn't know about installing and that hopefully he'll get smarter but he's been doing installation for 35yrs and he knows more. At this point we're frustrated. It's obvious between the workers there's no communication and it falls on the consumer. Gustavo and his workers left and said Roy or someone from Elrod will call us. We called Elrod, my husband talked to Roy and asked what was going on. It's been delayed so many weeks now. Roy said his boss said no and the workers can't do the the work because of the retaining wall. My husband said you saw the wall when you quoted. Roy stated he didn't and the wall wasn't there before. Sounds pretty silly that we would deliberately build a wall all of a sudden. The professionalism is horrible. Communication is horrible. We were VERY patient and for someone to say they've been installing for 35yrs but now they don't want to do the work is very unethical. We will be posting this review on any website we can. As a company who's been around for several years it is not ok to treat customers like this. You left us hanging Elrod after delaying so many weeks. Shame on you. read more

Forgot to add Elrod did finally show up when they were supposed to.. took all of 5 minutes for the person to do some messing around with some screws. I waited almost 3 months for someone to fix what needed to be fixed in 5 minutes. read more

I spoke with April and explained the project for my garden, that I only wanted one (1) vinyl post. She advised it would not be an issue buying only one (1) post. I have tried numerous times to have ELROD make some fences for me. My home application requires a worker to see the property in order to make accurate measurements. This would take a very small amount of time and effort. I have tried many time to have someone a worker come inspect the property. Promises by workers are broken time and time again! Phone calls are not returned. I feel that ELROD shows little or no interest in having my business. I have bought wood fence posts at Elrod many times and would have liked to have continued to do business. However I feel that my business is not appreciated or bothered about so I will take it elsewhere. I myself am a small business owner and feel very disappointed in this lack of interest in customer satisfaction. I believe that when a promise is made (by an owner or by a worker) that promise should be upheld. Its the integrity of the business. I have not witnessed any integrity and am now very irritated. I feel it is important for business owners to hear customer feedback. read more

Couldn't get a return email from the rep that gave me the estimate as to how long the job would take and when they could come out. Finally went into their store and set up an appointment. I had to reschedule and finally received an email from the estimator, but when I asked what time once again no response from this person. I called and talked to a manager I believe and stated I did not want to work with the person that had come out since he was unreliable, and was told they would call me first thing in the morning as to when they would be out. But, no call. When I called this morning to follow up, I'm now being told all of their crews are in the field and I'd been rescheduled for tomorrow. I cancelled with them. Reading the other reviews I see that there are several people who are satisfied with them, my family and myself however, are not. read more

Wasted endless money ... but Brian quoted a fair price for the quality we needed and completely understood the scope of the work. It was flawless and perfect!! I can't comment on their workmanship because I never got that far. Brian gave me an estimate on 2/19/15 then called to tell me the job was scheduled for 3/10. When no one called or showed up, I called and was told it had been rescheduled for 3/11. Same scenario the next day - no phone call or workers. Called and was told it had been rescheduled for 3/12. Was also reassured that since I lived so close it would be the first job. By 9:00 Thursday morning same thing - no call or workers. Called office again only to be told it was yet again rescheduled to Friday, 3/13. At that point I told them to shove the paperwork and cancel the job. I only gave them one star because it wouldn't let me post with no stars. read more

I have had trouble getting satisfaction from this company. I have only dealt with Doug and he isn't very reliable with the return calls. My last communication with him was to ask him to come out to see the work that was done because there was a problem with it. We arranged a day to meet and I rearranged my day to be there but he did not show up. When I called him he said he "forgot" but would be there in the morning. He never did show up. I will have need for more fencing in the future but since best price isn't always the best deal, I will go elsewhere. read more

BEWARE THEY DESTROYED PROPERTY AND LEFT US HANGING! Our second use of this company turned into a bit of a nightmare. On the date scheduled for work to begin the workers did not show up. I called the office and was given a new time. At 3:30 they had still not showed up so I called again and was told someone would get back to me. At about 4:45 I called again and only then was I told they would not be showing up. Apparently something had gone wrong with a job that morning yet no one bothered to call to tell me or to even tell me during my multiple calls to their office. They sent someone the next morning. One of the individuals was extremely rushed which was making me a bit uncomfortable. We assumed they knew what they were doing that assumption proved to be terribly wrong. Rather than digging by hand to check for anything underground they used an auger to blast through everything quickly. After they had used the auger for a total of four holes I decided to look inside at which time I discovered not only a pipe but multiple strands of wires ripped apart in not one, not two, not three but FOUR separate places!!! When I showed it to the guy he became very defensive, argumentative and angry. When I asked him how he could have done this his only response was to say he wasn't responsible and that he could have done by hand to check but it would have taken him too long and he was in a hurry. (I later learned his daughter was in the hospital having a baby.). Then he wanted to pour concrete on top of the shredded pipe and wiring!!! We had to ask him to leave our property. So for his convenience we were left with destroyed pipe and wires. He called the owner that day. We did not receive a phone call until two days later. All we received was an apology and an acknowledgment that this should not have happened and there was no excuse for destroying pipe and wire in four different holes along the same line. In exchange we had to spend almost $700 to fix the damage they left. Despite their acknowledgement of wrongdoing there was ZERO attempt to make it right. read more

I called back and he "I believe his name was Mike" didn't remember who I was. Again we discussed my job, said he would get back to me. Guess what? Never happened. read more

Initially customer service was wonderful. Elrod came out have us a quote which was fair. We were in the process of a complete remodel and wanted to put up the fence at separate times do to the various jobs getting done in our yard. Elrod said that was fine- came out did a great job on half the job. Billed us the agreed amount which was excellent. We called to have them come out and do the second half of the job. Not only did they increase the price per foot but they also did not show on our scheduled day and have not returned our phone calls. We will never use them for our fencing needs again. read more
