It's sad because I have such great memories of this pizza place from when I was a kid, but now it's an absolute zoo. I placed an online order for a small cheese pizza, a Caesar salad, a chicken cutlet sub, and two sides of ranch. The app estimated a 45-minute wait, which worked perfectly. I arrived after 50 minutes only to have the pizza maker yell across the restaurant that it would be another 20 minutes. No apology--just "20 more minutes." I left to run a couple of errands and came back 20 minutes later. My order still wasn't ready. The staff appeared to be in full meltdown mode, yelling at each other while customers waited. The kitchen was so chaotic, with employees constantly shouting and clearly overwhelmed, that it completely ruined the experience. Watching all of the panic and confusion honestly made me lose my appetite. In my opinion, it felt like the pizzas probably had more sweat than care put into them. Nearly two hours after placing my order, my food was finally ready. The employee at the register, who was very kind, realized they were out of Caesar dressing. When she mentioned it to the woman making the subs, she became visibly upset. I made a simple comment about it, and she started yelling at me. When I got home, my "Caesar salad" was basically a box of lettuce with a few croutons--no Caesar dressing. The small cheese pizza was greasy, and the chicken cutlet sub consisted of stale bread with two dry chicken tenders on stale bread. It's disappointing because this place used to be one of my favorites. Unfortunately, it has become overpriced, disorganized, and the food quality has declined dramatically. This is our favorite Pizza, and we happily drive 45 minutes to get there. Twice now we've come by boat and they delivered hot pizzas to the Center Harbor town dock. Our usual combination is pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms and some other veggie, plus extra sauce and a well done bake, but friends of ours opt for a strict veggie and have said Elvios is their favorite place for THAT version. They used to have locations in Plymouth and Weirs Beach (I think) but closed at least the Plymouth location due to, according to a manager, their "inability to maintain the quality of their product." Not sure why but could be related to problems hiring and keeping quality help. Most negative reviews of this location (Moultonborough/Center Harbor) criticize the service and/or attitude of the workers (not the Pizza) but we've never witnessed anything but friendliness and professionalism. read more

I looked up Elvio's Pizzeria online, then clicked on "menu". The large BBQ pizza was listed as $22.20. When I picked it up I was charged $31.38. When I complained the cashier handed me a brochure with the higher price. I asked for the manager, he pointed to an illuminated sign in the store that showed the higher number. I told him I had bought the pizza based on the online number of $22.20, and asked for a refund. He said the online number said $28.56, and refused. He wanted to argue. First time visit to Elvio's last night...and could not be more satisfied. We ordered 2 large pizzas to go, it was a busy Friday night, but when I went in to pick them up, they were hot and ready. And they were delicious. 1/2 cheese, 1/2 pepperoni on one of them and 1/2 cheese, 1/2 sausage on the other. Fabulous! The place was jammed, with a positive upbeat vibe. The folks behind the counter were hustling and could not have been nicer. I highly recommend Elvio's.....we'll be back for sure. read more

We drive 45 minutes for this pizza. It is just what we have been trying to find! Perfect freshly made crust, sauce is simple not spicy... just right, cheese is real nice and fresh. We love the large cheese so much we haven't got another kind . We will, the Greek salad is refreshing, also always fresh greens and generous portions. They had stuffed shells on the board for one of the specials, It was very good, I'm Italian and no complaints would definitely order that again. I love their sauce. The people are so nice, they always take time to say hello with a smile. It's nice and clean, great food, great people, priced reasonably. Seating is very comfortable too. Wow what a horrible experience. I called for delivery and after 5 minutes of trying to place my order the woman hung up on me. Then I called again got the same woman as I was telling her my address she started yelling at me I was too fast. I own an online store. I was not too fast at all. The good: pizza was hot. Had sauce and cheese. Crust was ok. Ordered to go. The bad: restaurant was unclean-floor dirty, kitchen visible disheveled. Toppings seemed old. The weird: front and back of house weren't wearing masks; I get that it's NH and it's optional, but those in food service should hold themselves to a higher standard. Not very impressed with the pizza we had from here. It was the 1st time here, it was recommended to us by a Family member. I had the GF cheese and always like the crust well done, most GF is spongy- but having the crust xtra crispy makes it great. Well thy didn't cook it enough so it was doughy & spongy. ( I heard them ask for well done crust when they called). It was take out, we stayed at a campground so I couldn't fry it up to fix the dough. Hubby wanted linguica pizza, but they said they don't have that. He opted for meatball pizza, said it was ok. I had a bite , it was grose. They were super busy, it was a holiday, said ready in 45 mins. It wasn't ready and we waited another 25 mins. We are in New Hampshire on vacation from New York and just wanted to grab a quick pizza before departing tomorrow. Elvio's Pizza was FANTASTIC! The crust was cooked exactly as we asked for it to be done- thin, crispy with a touch of char-delicious! The small green salad I had was fresh and a nice side. Very good pizza. Tried them when no one in meredith delivered and was pleasantly surprised with being a place that had way above italian. I'm not that much of a salad guy, but love their anti-pasto. I have been there just once for take out, I had a sandwich that was pretty good and the roll was awesome. My complaint that will keep me from coming back is the "non cash adjustment" charge for using a credit card. It's 2023, people mostly use credit cards so their fees should be worked into the prices. ZERO STARS!!! DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT!! The owner is a monster, uses foul language and treats his customers and employees like dirt. I ordered a pizza and spaghetti from this restaurant last night. I ordered on line, had a ticket number 82 and it was an hour wait. I went to pick up the pizza and Spaghetti. The girl at the counter found my order #82, ran my credit card for the $30, then proceeded to tell me that they lost my order (remember I already waited an hour from when I called it in). She was apologetic, but said I would have to wait another 25 minutes as they hadn't started my order. All of that is bad, but it got terribly worse. I young boy (maybe 13 or14) came out to tell me they were apologetic and he would give me 10% off, he realized I already paid so he said I would get 10% off my next order. So I sat humbly in the dining area trying to be patient. After 15 minutes I asked the girl that ran my credit card if I could have a 2 liter bottle of Coca-Cola rather than 10% discount off my next order as I was never going back to their restaurant. Seemed like a reasonable request. 10% off would be $3.00 about the price of the bottle of soda. The girl said that the 13 year old boy (maybe he washes dishes, maybe owners son, not sure) didn't have any authority to grant me a 10% discount. (PERIOD); not even for my next order as the boy had promised. They reneged the discount???? The owner (at least I think he was the owner) was listening to my conversation and said "No 10% off (PERIOD)." He said the boy had no authority to grant a future discount. The boy was obviously much smarter than the owner. The owner got enraged. You could see veins popping out of his forehead. He started swearing at me. I tried to explain that I ordered the pizza an hour prior, they messed up and lost my order and I thought a reasonable concession was a 2 liter bottle of Coca-Cola, as I was offered a 10% discount that I wouldn't use. The owner was having none of that. He told me verbatim that "I shouldn't "*UCK" with the people that make my food (like he was going to spit on the pizza or something). And it got worse. The owner screamed / admonished the boy in front of the entire restaurant that he should never offer a discount to anyone without asking him first, that he doesn't give discounts to anyone and continued to rant and rave at the boy for 5 minutes. I really felt sorry for the boy. He was just trying to do the right thing. Again, I sat back down in the dining area humbly waiting for my dinner. They made the boy come out and hand me my pizza. He forgot the Spaghetti and salad. The boy went to the back of the restaurant and 'found" the salad and spaghetti. I left with my blood pressure up and in total disbelief of what I just encountered It should be noted that I didn't take the bottle of soda nor was I given a 10% discount. I was basically kicked out the door. Finally, as I began to anticipate, the pizza was horrible. I couldn't tell If the owner spit on the pizza and spaghetti or not. I'm 57 and kind. I'm dumbfounded that the boy who offered me the 10% discount was smarter than the owner. With such management, I don't see the restaurant surviving much longer. Steve L. read more

Our food (wings, salad, calzone) was great. The eat in experience was, well, bizarre. You order at the counter, which was a surprisingly difficult thing. The waiting time for your food is in the same queue as the takeout. You are reminded of this because as you sit in the dining area the frustrated guy at the oven keeps yelling "40 minutes!" Randomly throughout the meal. When somebody breaks a dish, the same guy starts screaming at the help. So, the food is good, but you might want to go for take out. read more

I do not recommend Elvio's even though their pizza is excellent. Today (May 9, 2020) I ordered two pizzas and a salad. In light of Covid 19, I asked if they had delivery to car and if I could pay in advance by credit card. They said yes. I called when I arrived and someone without a mask came out and asked me to sign the credit card slip. I told him to mark an "X" and he did. Another person came out later with my order and she was not wearing a mask either. When I asked, I was told no one in the restaurant was wearing one. While waiting for my order, I saw someone with out of state plates go in to place an order, also not wearing a mask. I paid for my order but did not eat the food --- more than $30 down the drain...I like supporting my local businesses, but Elvio's lack of regard for the health and safety of its customers is unacceptable to me. read more
