I haven't been over to the waterpark side of things yet, so I can only tell you about the side with the playground, swings, windy-walking path, and fields. It's nestled amongst residential streets and really feels very private despite being bordered by a nearby apartment complex. There's pretty good shade, too. The parking lot closest to the playground is tiny, but there are more spots near the waterpark which is only a short walk away. It might be helpful to note that there is limited seating. Maybe consider a picnic blanket if you're wanting to hang out awhile.

But we went to Howard Moore because she is almost 4 and the deepest this play pool goes to is 1.5 ft. So she got in free with her Swim Pass and I was only charged $2.50! I felt comfortable watching her from the side bc the lifeguards there actually do their jobs! Multiple times I saw the teenagers on duty remind kids to go up the slide using the steps, not crawling back up the tunnel, and to go down feet first after a small boy slid down head-first into a foot of water and struggled to stand up. Cheers to you, lifeguards! Because this pool is so perfect for younger kids, we shared it with 2-3 daycares during our first hour there, each with 8-12 kids, some big, some small. The lady sitting next to me gathered her 3 kids shortly after an older group arrived and explained to her son that, "It's time to go because your little sister got trampled 3 times in the last 5 mins." So be warned. Also their bathrooms are about what you'd expect from park bathrooms (dingy but useable) and the water was extremely cold. Nevertheless, it's a hidden haven of fun for a nominal fee. This first experience with the city's play pool gives me hope for all the others!

He stayed there for a long time, deliberately weaving back and forth between the families and players. When he was told that there were rules and that riding bicycles inside the tennis courts was not permitted, he began hurling insults and laughing, declaring that he would stay right where he was and that no one could tell him otherwise. He mocked us, pointing out that there was no security or manager present in the park. The families and players were ultimately forced to leave. It is unbelievable that one cannot use the park facilities without these future delinquents causing trouble! Is there a manager available at the park or there a contact number to report these incidents?

Inside the Star Center, there are 2 full NHL size ice rinks. One is named after the famous 1999 Stanley Cup Dallas Stars champion Derian Hatcher and the other after the former Dallas Star Captain Brendan Morrow. The rinks are busy throughout the day with many activities going on, such as youth hockey, adult hockey, and public skating. The best way to find the current schedule for the day is to go on the website and look at what events are happening for the day and month. On the website, they offer a lot of free activities for first-timers, whether it be learning hockey or just even skating on ice. The public skating is 2 hours long, and they provide rental skates at an extra charge. The Mansfield ISD high school also plays hockey here, so it's always great to come out here and support the community. There is a snack bar provided where they sell food and drinks and also have multiple vending machines with ice cold beverages. Please come and check out this beautiful arena and enjoy your time on the ice, where it is always cooler! Um, gross! I came…read morehere for a baseball tournament, so you are held captive all day. Of course at some point you have to use the restroom. It has to be the worst smelling bathroom I have ever been inside. The bathroom floor was littered with toilet paper. There also was no soap in the dispenser. Thank goodness I had hand sanitizer in my purse. This is a public park and they were charging for parking. Is that even legal? It's a public park? It cost $5 a person to park in the parking lot. The fields were also awful. There were big holes in the infield. I'm not quite sure what they do with all of the money they are collecting for parking, they are not using it to maintain fields.

He also said it has just been completed and since not many people know it's ready it isn't as crowded as White's Branch Park. There is a tennis court, baseball field, basketball court, play equipment and splash pad (open Memorial Day to Labor Day, everyday except Wednesday starting at 10am). My kiddo was so excited to play today and no one else was here, so fun. I know by writing this review it'll attract more kids but that's okay, there's plenty of room for everyone to enjoy this space :)

Probably the best all around park in Haltom City (from what I can tell)…read more Excellent playground area, several baseball fields (in pretty good condition), a tennis court, pavilion, a roller hockey court (and probably the only one for a while) a couple of make-shift football fields, and a splash park during the summer. Plus, it's located next to the Haltom City Rec Center so you have access to indoor basketball courts (though I'm not sure if you have to be a resident to use them). This park is almost perfect, till you see some areas that were either abandoned projects or vandalized equipment. But overall, the rest of the park is great.
