One night stay for spring break with my kids. We got a 2 room suite with the view of Cincinnati, corner room on the 4th floor. The room itself is dated BUT everything was comfortable. They were short staffed and i had to run down to the front desk for shampoo and hand soap but the staff was really kind. The room needed more attention we did find some a chip bag under a night stand and the windows needed cleaned. Other than small inconveniences that did not affect our stay, we had a plethora of towels, the ac was powerful and the shower water was nice and hot. The beds were extremely comfortable as well. We used the pool, which is small but warm. I received two drink tickets as well. The evening reception was a nice touch. My kids got free nonalcoholic drinks, some snacks, crackers cheese, veggie tray, sweets and chips and salsa. We were still full from lunch which was walking distance from the hotel. Breakfast was actually phenomenal. A whole room of food and made to order omelets. Breakfast staff was also really attentive and kind. Parking is $12 if you don't need to leave otherwise it's $22. We had absolutely the worst experience here at this hotel. The staff was excellent, but the amenities were terrible. We moved rooms 3 times due to different items. The power went out on our last night and we had no electricity in our room to take showers. In the dark. We stayed here due to a family reunion, which we had 80 people with about 35 rooms. We were told the power outage was due to a citywide situation. When it was only the hotel that we were staying in we have requested compensation for at least one night. We haven't heard back from them yet. The ruins were all cold due to none of the heat operations were working. Lots of the furniture in the rooms were either old or dirty. The sink in my bathroom fill in, and there was no safe in one of the rooms we were in. read more

I really dont understand the negative reviews here. We stayed 2 nights for a football game at Paycor and could not have had a better experience. The rooms are older, but it was clean and has a great set up. The location is perfect, an easy walk to any stadium, the tailgating area, dozens of bars and all the parks/walking trails. The staff was the best part. The checking was effortless, the people friendly, the food really fresh and tasted great. There is a full bar, breakfast buffet and snack shop. Overall this should be a top choice to consider as a home base for cheering on your team or staying for business. read more

Any and all stars go to friendly staff. This Embassy Suites has not been upgraded in a very long time. When a bunch of traveled here for work, there was a foul smell of sewage in many of our rooms. Staff said they didn't know when it would end because of work with the A/C. It's unclear. There's also poor hot water and pressure in the rooms. I've been here more than once and there's always garbage in the hallways and broken furniture laying around. My personal problem is that the pillows are so soft they have no support. The "concierge" will text you but then not reply when you text back. I had to tell my company not to book this property anymore. read more

I had a great experience! Erin was absolutely amazing! She made my birthday so special. First of all, my husband called the day before and told her that we were celebrating my birthday. So she went ahead and upgraded our room to a river view, put a cheesecake in my room, and hooked me up at the evening reception! The room wasn't anything special but it was clean and that's all we cared about! We will definitely be back when we need a hotel close to downtown Cincinnati and Covington! read more

I downloaded Yelp just to leave a review because this hotel was so terrible. 1. I booked through a 3rd party website and requested a crib for our room. The day of our reservation I called to verify we would have a crib. I was told I could request one once we got there. We arrived around 9pm and requested a crib at checkin. We were told they were in the middle of changing staff and would have one to our room by 10pm. We wandered around the hotel and found things to do. Around 9:45pm we went to the desk to validate our parking ticket and once again checked on the crib. At 10:15pm we ended up calling and a very very dirty and disgusting pack and play was delivered to our room. Thankfully I packed a fitted sheet. 2. When we parked in the garage it was very difficult to find the hotel entrance through the garage. We opened doors for the hotel but it was only a stairwell and we had a stroller with our baby in it. We found an elevator and we ended up in a different building and had to walk through it to get to our actual hotel. The entire hotel was very poorly labeled. A map would have been useful to find the pool as we walked around for awhile before asking the front desk. 3. The rooms were very dirty. I'm not sure if they were even cleaned at all. Stains on the bedding, disgusting bathroom, dusty, crumbs, etc. I turned on the shower faucet and water came out both the shower and bathtub faucet and the bathtub was slow to drain. I was in standing water during my shower. 4. Breakfast was labeled as "made to order" so I thought it would be more restaurant styled. The only thing "made to order" was omelets and it was a very long line. The other food was cold and bland. My husband and I had to wait for clean plates, forks, and cups. 5. At checkout we asked the best way to get to the garage and we were told "around the corner and down the stairs". My husband and I shared a look with each other as we had our baby in the stroller once again. Another hotel guest helped us carry the stroller and bags down the stairs so we could get to our car. I said "God forbid someone in a wheelchair stays here". Overall I was very displeased with my stay. I will never stay here again and told my sister to not book here for her upcoming trip. read more

We (3) reserved the 2 bedroom suite...we were celebrating my sister's birthday. When the room was not ready at 4p, I was hesitant to stay, so we went to have a late lunch. When we returned to check in Brian was so unprofessional and just a nasty person with an attitude. 1. He kept saying he was trying to find us space after we showed our reservation confirmation and the upgrade we had recieved. 2. He loudly stated that the card we had on file had declined even though we had confirmation the card had been charged. I have never been publicly disrespected and humiliated at any of their locations - oh wait this is the first time! After he could not find something else to admonish us for loudly in front of the others who were also checking in. He finally issued the keys for suite 320. When we arrived the door was open to the room. My sister went back down to the desk to alert them that the door was open and we were not entering because we were not sure if it was occupied. Brian was not helpful, just so happen a person from the housekeeping staff was walking by and asked my sister could he help, he went up to the room and went in to inspect, no one was in the room , he sprayed air freshener then he came down to get us from the lobby with our luggage to say the room was okay. Thank God I travel with a bag of cleaning supplies - we had to literally clean the entire suite, the bathroom was disgusting. If we hadn't drove more than 2 hours to get here I would have went somewhere else. When is the last time this place has been renovated.. everything is old and musty smelling and yall charge 400 plus a night for a literal dump...SHAME ON YOU! read more

I stayed here recently for four days. This hotel is definitely past its prime. I was part of a larger group, there were 80 of us ladies who stayed. The view is stunning as you are parked right on the Ohio river and overlooking Cincinnati. We stayed in the hotel and did not leave for any of our meals. We ate breakfast, lunch, and dinner in the hotel. We had a ballroom there assigned to our group and spent each day in the room. There were more than one pair of ladies that had issues with their rooms, one pair that sat at the table with me changed rooms twice because of issues like no hot water. My experience was slow draining tub, dirty tub, carpet was old, stained, and balling up getting those fibers on everything. In the restroom areas in next to the ballroom there was tape holding the toilet paper roll carrier up. The carpet in the ballroom was in the same shape as my room. You may ask why I am giving 2 stars? It is the stellar staff! The staff at this hotel was nothing but kind during our entire stay. They went out of their way to try to make us happy. The gal making made to order omelets in cafe in the mornings was super friendly. The staff putting our food out for lunch and dinner were great. Our bartenders did a fantastic job also even though there was only one bartender and they were faced with a long line each night at 5pm because everyone had a coupon for a free two drink happy hour. They didn't rush anyone and everyone got their freebies. I stayed at this hotel years ago when it was in better shape and really Hilton needs to take the initiative to overhaul this place and make it grand again. The only thing this hotel has going for it is its location and breakfast staff. The physical condition of the property was almost third world. We were there for a marriage retreat. Many of the other couples shared these same experiences: their rooms had a distinct musty smell; the hot water worked in the sink but NOT in the shower; the carpeting was torn; and the paint, trim and bathroom tile were in our condition. In the public areas none of the doors operated properly, requiring force to open or closes them. The fire doors accessing the stairways would not fully close. The public restrooms, while clean, were literally falling apart. This hotel has a beautiful location, however the entire property screams of deferred maintenance. Based on that alone I would not ever stay there again. It's sad to see a hotel like this being killed by a lack of maintenance. Our experience here reflects a broader range throughout the Hilton network. read more

ROACHES!!! And big ones!! Stayed last night 7th floor room. Lysol sprayed everything upon arrival because of anything is coming out it's coming after you spray. Got up for breakfast came back to room BIG roach sitting by trash can. Called front desk to send someone immediately. Guy came roach ran behind couch. Lifted couch roach started running towards bathroom and he stomped it into the carpet THEN walked on the bathroom floor to get tissue with the same shoes. No housekeeping on duty. Went to have room changed and 2nd room, 2nd floor next to fitness room dead roach behind the couch and toilet handle broken. I wasn't going to unpack until I thoroughly checked the room. That was it. Back to the front desk and left the hotel. Went next door to Marriott and it was absolutely amazing. Clean, no carpet, updated rooms, amazing staff and not a roach in sight. read more

Absolutely the Worst Hilton Experience of My Life If I could give zero stars, I would. My stay at this Hilton was an absolute nightmare from start to finish. On the middle of a competition weekend, I walked into my room and found roaches. Multiple. Crawling. In a Hilton. When I immediately informed the front desk, it somehow took TWO hours to move me to a new room--two hours I definitely did not have to spare during a competition day. And despite one of my nights being spent in a roach-infested room, I was still charged full price for both nights. The disappointment didn't stop there. When I reached out to Hilton's escalation center, their first "solution" was to offer me points for a free night somewhere. Only after pushing did they agree to reimburse me for one night. Spoiler alert: the check never came. I had to call again, and only then did someone finally send it--still only for one night, even though I stayed TWO nights and only one was even remotely habitable. To make matters worse, the check arrived while I was out of town and ended up misplaced. Hilton's response? Too bad. They refused to reissue it or make the situation right in any way. Every time I ask for a supervisor, I'm told I'm already speaking to the "highest team," which is both unbelievable and unacceptable given how poorly this has been handled. So here I am: I paid full price for a two-night stay in a roach-infested hotel, Hilton didn't follow through on the reimbursement they promised, and they now refuse to do anything at all. I've been a loyal Hilton guest for years, but after this, I genuinely cannot trust their brand anymore. If this is how they treat guests after their mistake, then staying at Hilton clearly comes with risks they won't take responsibility for. I had a two queen bed suite over a Friday and Saturday night in early August. I arrived at 5:00 PM and my room wasn't ready. Typically when I have tried to check in any hotel and my room isn't early, I'm usually asked for my cell. Not here. Not even welcomed as a Hilton Rewards Member. I ran to dinner and then was able to check in around 6:30. Same attendant, same nonexistent level of friendliness. Got my room at least. There is a Managers Reception each night from 5-7. Different free drink options are available. Bartender was great. The room. Had a suite. Sitting room was spacious, sink, fridge, microwave, couch, chair, everything looked to be in good condition. In the bedroom, the carpet had seen better days. Definitely frayed. Bed was extremely comfortable. Room temperature was weird. Very little circulation in the bedroom, even with the thermostat set at 68, never went below 73. Housekeeping, argh. Asked for housekeeping, never got it. Asked again at 4 and the front desk made a production and eventually cleaned but more drama than needed. You get a the complimentary breakfast each morning which is restaurant quality. Location is phenomenal. If you are attending a sporting event you just need to walk over the bridge. Close to Covington or Newport. They do charge 12.00 per night. Overall I liked the hotel but it can definitely use some TLC. Disappointed with the front desk staff but everyone else was extremely friendly. read more

There are so many things that need improved at this hotel I'm sure I will forget some but here is a list: 1 - breakfast - empty serving dishes , long lines, no clean plates or silverware, empty coffee pots and no cups, and no one working to ask for help. 2 - poor valet and parking services - if you have a tall vehicle you have to park farther away in a garage just for oversized vehicles. 3 - parking tickets need to validated every time you get a new one or you can't get out of the garage. 4 - happy hour drinks were okay but snacks left a lot to be desired. 5 - Overbooked - the hotel service desk blamed all of the issues on being very full for this weekend, however they know how many rooms.people are staying and should schedule workers to accommodate that amount of people. Our room was okay and quiet as we were far away from the elevators. John, the bartender, was amazing. He did a great job keeping up with the amount of people during happy hour and throughout both evenings. I was impressed with how he handled a couple very drunk dads that were there with dance teams for a competition weekend with their daughters-they were very loud, rude, and ridiculous acting. read more

Just. Wow. In fairness, we did go on a busy weekend. But. 1) No body wash in dispenser. Asked for help and it finally came several hours later. 2) Breakfast buffet was constantly out of things, like bacon, eggs, and...clean forks? 3) Room smelled like wet socks. 4) Lack of maintenance - carpet old and worn, shower head pulling away from wall, etc. 5) My son in a different room had to wait several hours for toilet paper; couldn't even get any at the front desk. I can not in good conscience recommend that anyone stay at this hotel....... Upon arrival we were given a room, went to check in and found a sour odor, hair in the tub, and the resurfacing of the tub was completely chipped and coming up around the drain (which is super sharp on the edges). They offered to swap us rooms and before moving we decided to walk it first... The second room is where we found the sink running and the lotion and soap ripped off the wall both near the vanity and in the shower. We returned to the front desk and said that we would just stay in the room with the odor and tub issues rather than moving to the room where everything was broken. The male receptionist (DJ) was rude, annoyed, and dismissive and began to make me a new set of keys for a third room. I repeated again that we did not want to continue checking rooms and would rather just stay where we are and he began to argue with me that it wasn't an option (simply because he didn't know how to put the room as ready in the system and recheck us in). Since he continued to say it was not an option I asked to speak to a manager, and he then turned to the woman next to him and said "yeah, can you come deal with her..." and walks off... It's also worth mentioning we are here on a group stay with 5 rooms in total. Here are the collective issues we experienced across all rooms: -sour odor in 3 out of 5 rooms -tv and phone not working in 1 -chipped tub in 2 out of 5 -running toilet in 2 out of 5 -dispensers ripped off walls in 1 room -hair in tub in 1 room -vanity lights not working in 2 bathrooms -remnants in the toilet bowl of "the nicest room they have left available" Also, no one on staff had any interest in taking down the work orders for what was wrong in each of the specific rooms, so you should 100% expect that all these issues will remain for the foreseeable future. Update after finding they placed an ozone machine in our occupied room.... These machines they are incredibly unsafe to be around while in use and it is generally recommended you not return to a space until at least 2 hours after the treatment has been completed.... ‍ these people are slummy and have no care for your comfort or safety. read more

I booked this hotel without reading the reviews because I believed Embassy Suites was a brand I could do that with. I should've read the reviews! Like so many say, my room had a very distinct mildew smell. I asked to change rooms, but was told they were completely booked, so they sent a man up to randomly spray air freshener around the room. It made absolutely no difference in the smell and was a ridiculous attempt at trying to fix something that (from the reviews) is so obviously occurring in many rooms and has been creating guest dissatisfaction for months. The mildew/mold smell was so strong, my husband suffered from allergies during our entire stay. I'm not usually prone to such conclusions, but I don't know how else to explain that in the room he was congested, and as soon as we left the room, he wasn't. The location was absolutely perfect! We walked to a Reds game and there were many restaurants and bars nearby. And, despite the gaslighting about the musty smell, the customer service in the hotel was fantastic. It actually made me sad to see an entire hotel's worth of friendly and efficient employees stuck defending a problem that ownership is obviously refusing to address. I hope that someday soon they'll fix the issue (the door was warped too - my guess is there was a leak/flooding and the carpet and/or insulation in the walls didn't dry fast enough and now there's mold and mildew.) Until then, I won't return to this hotel. It's a real waste of a great location and a phenomenal staff. read more

Very unhappy about the AC not working for our trip. Tried to move rooms but I guess the whole hotel wasn't working. Was cooler out in the lobby bar area then our rooms. Bathroom tub was chipped in multiple places and needs replacement. Breakfast was OK. What saved it was the custom omelets. Good location read more

My room smelled like cat pee and when I addressed it with the staff I was given a bottle of mandarin aseptic spray. The front desk then called my room, 2.5 hours later at 12:20pm to see if the spray was enough and to let me know the computer had assigned my room to another guest....after midnight. Wouldn't be as much of a problem if we didn't have our one year old with us. A little outdated and musty for sure. Furniture by the lobby bar definitely needs replaced - dirty,musty, stained, worn. A lot of potential if they put the time and effort into renovations - especially for the price they charge in my opinion. My husband had fond memories of this hotel growing up - hoping it turns around! I can't imagine running a hotel these days is easy but hoping they can bring it back to its former glory! read more

Don't find that often anymore!! Hotel and rooms are clean and nice. 2 stars is pushing it. Where to begin. The breakfast was a disaster, they set up for special order breakfast blocking all the plates and silverware for everyone else. When you finally get a plate nearly everything was empty over an hour before it was over. We had to ask for the below items to be filled. Oatmeal, brown sugar, eggs, sausage, spoons, napkins and so on. Expressed my concerns to the front desk and got the deer in the headlights look. Was told that they were very busy but it looked like they had never served people before. Adding to the empty food was putting the toaster in an angled corner that blocks anyone from getting drinks. Enough about breakfast. Tried the gym area out and found an out of order treadmill, a peloton bike that you cannot log into and a dirty elliptical. Adding insult to injury is the ridiculous parking situation, every time you park you have to get a ticket, take it to the front desk to get it verified, if you lose your ticket you cannot get out. I tried to call security from the podium and no one answered so I went to the front desk, the lady gave me a phone number to call and they would open the gate, turns out the number doesn't even work. This location is by far the worst excuse for a Hilton property I have ever been to. Can't wait to see what day 2 at this location brings us. Woohoo!! read more

Staff were friendly, parking was easy & convenient, pack & play we used was great too. Checking into the hotel at 11:40pm and somehow the room that we booked over a month ago and paid for was somehow not ready. Waisted our time waiting in the lobby for the room for an hour to test us that the was one room that wasn't larger enough to fit us so we had to cancel and drive home at 1 in the morning.Very rude front desk worker I think named CJ yelling at us while the other front desk worker was very professional and tried to calm him down by telling him that it's time for him to take a break. Do not stay here. We called on our way because our digital key did not go through. We were put on hold for over 30 minutes with no answer. Eventually, we arrive to the location and try to valet our vehicle however we were told it would not fit because it was a full-size truck. Got to the front desk to check in. Rude front desk staff cheering when the line went down. They told me I didn't have a room ready at 6 PM even though I had booked it the day prior with a confirmation number I was trying to provide them. Eventually, we were given a room that reeked of cat piss, and was extremely dirty. I would 10 out of 10 not recommend this place absolutely horrible for this brand of hotel and the amount I paid. read more

We paid extra to have a river view and it was well worth it. We enjoyed watching the boats and barges pass by. The view of the bridge, downtown was great. The room was really nice, internet was great and the breakfast delicious. The lady who fixed the eggs was extremely nice, friendly and made an enjoyable start to the day. read more

The hotel is run down. Tubs don't drain properly, stains on carpet an furniture and moldy smell in room. The pool was dirty and the fitness room cramped. The breakfast food looked ok but was subpar. Plates and food seemed to run out and was not replaced/refilled quickly enough. The evening snack/drink was okay. Would stay elsewhere if I went back to Cincinnati. This used to be a great hotel. I remember coming as a kid and going to reds games. The room smelled and was dirty. The air conditioner didn't work. They were able to fix the air after we asked the second time. We asked if they could clean the room. They just made the bed. Lots of random pieces of trash in the floor found by my kids. The staff seemed annoyed when we asked for help. I feel like they haven't made any upgrades/updates in this hotel since I was a kid. The breakfast used to be really good. Not mostly just premade items like continental breakfasts. Definitely wasn't worth $300/night. I doubt we will be staying here again. read more

Too bad the hotel is the exact opposite. Absolutely horrible experience because of how uncleanly the hotel is. You see rust, water damage, dirty floors, stained ceiling im guessing from all the water damage, etc. The list could go on. I can tell things are just not being kept up, such as maintaining the hotel, as if there are no standards, no maintenance care to the place. The place is definitely not getting cleaned, the shower tub, bathroom floor, shower curtain still had hair on them. It is so cringing that this is acceptable. Our bathroom had such a moldy stench, throughout our stay, it made it very hard to feel comfortable. There were too many obvious dirtiness throughout our hotel room pointing to signs of things are not being wiped down, vacuumed, etc. Even coming down for breakfast, simple things as the plate and silverware were dirty. My boyfriend and I had to go through so many plates to find an acceptable one and wipe down the silverware. Hotel experience is such an important part of a trip, make sure you don't ruin your experience during your stay because the hotel's not holding up to their standards. Absolutely save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere. Avoid it if you're able to!!!! read more

The heat index is 103. The AC will not go below 71 to the bedroom area despite setting it on 50. The water in the shower has hot or hotter. The staff is friendly and put in maintenance request for the AC. Said the guy looked at it and that was it. Do not recommend. read more

Since we live in Louisville it benefited us to stay on the Kentucky side of the river to avoid Cincinnati traffic when returning home. We also had reservations at Pompilio's in Newport that was only 6 minutes away. Staff were very friendly and polite. The room was ample and the bed comfy. Do note that the parking garage is $12 more for guests but it's right behind the hotel with an entrance from the garage. They do have a complimentary social hour(actually 11/2 hours) that offer free drinks and snacks from 5:30 pm until 7:00 pm. Breakfast is free and it faces the Cincinnati cityscape and the Ohio River. It's a great view. If you prefer you can order your breakfast to be cooked while you wait. Considering that there were a number of people in line we just grabbed the scrambled eggs, potatoes, muffins, etc. from the steam table. Unfortunately the eggs and the potatoes were not very warm. Muffins were meh. Still it was a notch above Hampton Inn breakfasts and afforded us a chance to eat quickly and be on our way. I am pretty particular about my coffee and avoided the hotel coffee. I did venture out to the Roebling Point Books and Coffee the day before for a better cup of coffee. A great coffee shop and close to the Roebling Bridge. A couple of other things to point out is that the common areas could use a carpet replacement and our ironing board was bent and was hard to use. We did report it to the hotel staff the next morning. We stayed at this Embassy Suites in September 2024 with a large group of students for a school function. Whereas the hotel cosmetic asthenic could use some upgrades, I cannot overstate how wonderful the staff was. They went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and assisted us in any way they could. I would like to specifically compliment Lea LaRoy who worked at the front desk. She was amazing and I cannot compliment her enough. She, and the rest of the staff, made our stay wonderful. read more
