It unfortunately was deceiving that the price shown was for some random dates in May when the night I was seeking a room was March 23rd. That said, the person checking me in gave me the hospital rate as I indeed was going there the next morning. She was a hotel supervisor and was friendly and professional. The room itself was big for being the basic studio king. It had a comfy large couch and space was plentiful. The mini fridge was nice and cold for my drinks. The bed was very comfortable. The A/C definitely worked, but 70 degrees felt like 75. I had to lower it to 65 to make it feel like 70. I did take advantage of the fitness center. It was larger than any other Best Western I've stayed at. All the treadmills seemed to work and I did a nice 1-hour walk on it. They even have a huge hydro message machine, which I was excited about except it was out-of-order during my stay. Other features include a nice swimming pool and hot tub. It had a large patio with lounge chairs. There is a well-attended bar/lounge. Right next to the front desk is a convenience market. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and would recommend this family-friendly hotel.

(microwaves) They also had the beds in one room, and a couch and tv in the other room so my grandson could go to sleep and we could stay up. Also not the same as the other hotels. They also have a handheld shower head which makes washing kids hair easier as well as a benefit for the adults. The people at the front desk were nice and helpful and the breakfasts were better than I had at the next two hotels I stayed at- Hilton and La Quinta. We had a family traveling vacation and brought a little dog - who was treated very well. I loved the people who worked at the breakfast- he heard me sneezing and brought me Kleenex. I mean, they don't waste money on making the place fancy, but it is clean and they put the money into the guests, and hopefully the employees because they were so good!

We visited early February, the week after the Super Bowl. For the Super Bowl we were in Palm Desert and before they switched the game the TV was showing golf... the PGA from TPC Scottsdale, which is two blocks from this Sheraton... barely a 5 minute walk. The Sheraton is also a 5-7 minute drive from the McDowell Sonoran Conservancy, which has very beautiful natural scenery and great hiking. The Sheraton is 20 minutes due south of country line dancing at Cave Creek and at other fun in Carefree, AZ. The Sheraton is build with an adobe look and feel on the outside; buildings are around the central pool, which has food service with impressive menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The exercise room is right there, and in the next-door building is The Hub, for activities for all ages. We reserved a one-bedroom unit with a pull-out sofa for 1-2 people. The kitchen has a refrigerator, dishwasher and combo microwave/air fryer / convection oven. There is no built-in stovetop, but when you ask the Front Desk they will happily bring you a two-burner electric cooktop that heats up quite quickly and works well. There are BBQ grills across the property. If a previous grill chef happened to turn the gas off not by the normal knobs, but by using the emergency shutoff, you might also be visited by the amazing Sam who will quickly get your grill lit and heated up so you can enjoy a fine dinner; thank you, Sam! I told her it was wrong and she said it wasn't that the first time she had only charged me for 2 beers and this was my third beer. I did not want to argue so I left it at that but I couldn't sleep thinking about it. I mean dang I even tipped her good. The next day I reached out. To management I don't mind taking care of my servers and I'm always a good tipper. But I don't like being taken advantage of because they think I had a few drinks. Or they think I won't notice extra things. This is not okay. The hotel you check into is supposed to be a safe place like home to enjoy a drink or two. The management offered to refund the first bill of 52.18. But I told him I just wanted what I was over charged refunded plus my tips. At this point I feel she had the chance to correct my bill and make things right but she chose to make me feel like I was in the wrong. After the manager added my first bill up after I told him what I had ordered it turns out she charged 4 beers the first time and not just my 3 and way over charged me the second time. There is a self parking lot that costs $8. My mom is handicap and they had several spots but it was still about a 8 minute walk from the parking lot. We got the day pass but not the "special chairs" which was fine, there were plenty of regular chairs and umbrellas. Since it was so early it wasn't crowded yet so we found a couple of lounge chairs right next to the pool. We were really wanting the hot tub but it was a bit disappointing (compared to the JW) -- it was pretty small and not too hot -- I guess on a very hot day that would be ok but it wasn't too hot out (in April it was in the 90s). Also only one jet was working. The main pool is really big and that is nice, it definitely was cooler than the lazy river. The lazy river was very warm. The lazy river was very nice you can float away for hours. I didn't check out the slide but it looked like there was maybe one slide that wasn't too steep. There were tons of kids but I guess that is to be expected with the lazy river. They even had pool games hosted by the Westin that looked fun. By about 2pm, a DJ started spinning up by the restaurant. That was fun and you could hear it down at the pool -- but there was also other music on the speaker that was still playing so it was a bit choatic. The food was average and overpriced, as were the drinks but that it to be expected at a resort like this. It did kind of have a vegas pool vibe once the DJ started. We had french fries and the hummus, veggies and flatbread and a few drinks that cost about $150!! Dang... Also the bathroom was up by the restaurant, and you had to walk a few stairs to get there -- they had an accessible pathway but it was kind of odd (hard to describe) -- luckily my mom never had to use the restroom. Overall it was an enjoyable day but I like the pools and the hot tub over at the JW Desert Ridge -- lazy river and slides are better too. Not sure I will do a ResortPass here again.

Especially with kids who don't understand and just want to have fun. Our fun family trip is lacking due to downfall of the Marriott Vacation Club and Westin Kierland Hotel. Part of why I picked this property was the availability of two bedroom/two bathroom units; my mom and I were in town for a wedding and this seemed like the perfect combination of amenities and price and overall the stay was great. Check in was a tad rough, with Richie a bit underwhelming, "Here's a sheet of information, a lot of it is incorrect..." but towards the end of the check in process Pamela arrived and things improved dramatically with her presence. Efren, the houseman jumped in when I was confirming the way to the villas (they are separate from the hotel about a five minute walk away) and offered to have us follow him to our room which I accepted. I gave him one of our keys and we followed him to the room in our car. He struggled a bit with the gate but I didn't think anything of it until 11 pm that night when we returned from the wedding and our keys didn't work. I had to turn around and drive back to the front desk. New keys were made but those didn't work, either. Thankfully the clerk also provided me with the gate code which I used for the remainder of our stay. Disappointed that this wasn't resolved when they didn't work the first time. The room was gorgeous. Incredibly spacious and included all of the amenities of a full kitchen along with a comfortable living room and bedrooms large enough to really unpack and spread out in. Though there were some misses: - The secondary bedroom (with two queen beds) has just one sink, while the primary (king) bedroom has two. Given that you're more likely to have multiple people in the secondary bedroom, there should really be two sinks in both. - The secondary bathroom also had a comically-small tub. And the toilet really struggled to flush (though once alerted, staff handled quickly). - I found bugs in my room each day of the visit. And only in the secondary bedroom. See pictures of some of the creatures I vanquished. - Housekeeping would throw dirty linens in the courtyard and come collect them (much) later. Seems like there has to be a better way than throwing white towels on the ground outside. The villas have their own pool, though it doesn't take much for it to feel crowded, so consider getting there early. Like from 7 am to 9 am when the continental breakfast is served. It's quite small and things run out early so go right away before all the good stuff is gone.

The pool was comfortable and there was a little fire pit area. Cabanas were available for rent and included a slot from 10AM-6PM, fruit or chips and salsa, and lemonade or iced tea. The shared spaces were clean and aesthetically pleasing. A large tent was set up for the majority of the catered meals for the event and was surprisingly comfortable. About half of the front desk staff I talked with were kind and respectful, others were very cold. Many of the catering staff did not speak English, which was only really an issue when I asked about the food ingredients a few times because I have an allergy. Ideally, someone should be able to communicate the ingredients of the food. The banquet and event spaces were spacious and temperature controlled. The hotel rooms were comfortable and clean. We had a room that opened to a little patio, which was nice. The one thing about the room that was not ideal is that the thermostat definitely didn't get down to the temperature it was set at and it gets hot in Arizona. If I attend the same event, I will very likely stay here again. Overall, the experience was good but there were a few things that need to be addressed.

If you didn't get there early you were out of luck. We wanted to use the pool and complained it was so gross and murky; they didn't even have a light in it at night because that would show the filth, so we were afraid to go in. The next morning, we find they closed it down and offered us to use the nearby hotels pool which was an answer to prayer for us. I will say that the staff was very nice, and cordial and We really appreciated that. that why I gave 2stars is for them! The room was very clean, but it has a bathroom the size of a small coat closet and a shower that the door leaks the water onto the floor. We tried not to let it affect our stay and be thankful for what we had.
